[Resolved] Wifi disconnected sign in to wifi network fix - General Questions and Answers

Hello guys
I have brought you the solution for this problem
this happens in new devices like note 3. S3 neo. Note 4 etc (those i have experienced it with)
There are two solutions to this problem
1. Manual way:
You should sign in to wifi network ... Once connected go to settings . wifi. Long press on the connected network. Choose modify network.. Show advanced settings ... And put any number in the boxes then turn off wifi and turn on again voila you are connected normaly but you should remove the proxy settings you entered so you dont have internet issue
2. Automatic way:
You should install orbot app on your device
when its installed in each time you want to connect to wifi you should open orbot and keep it activated
when its activated you can connect with no problems
Ps: when you open orbot theres a box -apps-
if you tick it you will have proxy applied to all your apps
Hope this was helpful...
enjoy ?

Wifi setup problem with 8125

HI all,
first of all i want to thankyou all for this awsome site and keeping the good work going.
I need some help with wifi setup.
I tried to setup my wifi with my 8125 using wifi companion and wifi fofum and both detected my network and connected to it successfully however, when i try to connect to the net using internet explorer a msg pops up saying that "cannot connect" Dialed +some number and then it says No modem at above number. To check connections settings change them if needed. I upgraded my rom to the latest one from cingular how ever i never entered this number which it is showing. Can some one help me with this issue and tell me what should i do.
thanks in advance.
Ps:- I tried wifi companion and wifi fofum separately not together.
thanks.
sounds like internet explorer is trying to connect to gprs or cellular modem or somthing.
you need to go to settings, connections, advanced, select networks, and make sure the drop down lists are set to "My Work Network"
Also check under setting, wireless lan, powermode and move the slider all the way to the left for best performance. I cannot connect to any routers when it is in the middle (the default setting). I have no problems connecting anywhere with it set to best performance.

How to disable GPRS warning?

I have the Fuze version on at&t network. I've disabled 3G on AT&T's side so there is no way to connect through there.
Nevertheless, my phone ALWAYS tries to connect to the 3G network and i've disabled 3G connections using Nodata.cab, advancedconfig, diamondtweaks.
Still, the warning signs always come up:
"there is a problem connecting to the gprs service in your registered home network warning"
and this occurs, when I turn on the phone and many other times.
Is there a way to disable this warning? I know I cant connect, its because i disabled it!!!!
anyone? it comes up like 50x a day andi have to click OK to make it go away every single time
Have you unchecked the auto update setting for the weather program? Doing this worked for me.
did that, but didnt fix the problem. anything else that can be auto updating or trying to contact the 3G network?
Go to start -- settings -- connections -- connections --advanced -- select network.
Here I think you can change the defaults so that when ever a program tries to use internet it will either use wifi (if available) or nothing....
I have blocked the wireless internet access on all my lines and this is how I solved the problem of getting gprs disconnect warnings.
Hope this helps.
Is it possible to just disable this warning?
I'm switching between my personal and business SIM cards quite often, and I have the data connection disabled on the business card, while on personal I have a data plan, so I want to be always-online.
I disabled aGPS and now i dont get the warning as much. (remember, i disabled GPRS from att side).
when i start my phone, i get 1 warning (i used to get 3?)
maybe i'm on the right track...
But the point is not to disable features so they don't auto-connect to the Internet.
The point is for the OS to try to onnect automatically, but when it failes - it doesn't have to scream that to your face every 5 minutes.
I'm bumping this thread cause I did the same thing and want to know how to disable the message as well.
still no answer to this
Translating from Dutch, so bear with me:
Go to Personal > phone > network settings and put the band on GSM.
Note that you won't be able to use the 3G + H data connections then.
my father has the same problem on his Diamond, need help!
bump, i have the same problem as well
any solutions?
i have a solution.
download > install > and run NOGPRS.cab aka No Data. that will shut it up. i just had the same problem and i did that and now i havnt gotten any... i think i might get like one if i turn the phone on and off and what not, but other then that its fine.
Solution to GPRS warning message
Go to settings > Connections > Connections > advanced > select networks >
now check both options to 'my work network'
click ok
and reboot
the irritating message will go away.
until you again reinstall the sim into your phone and it will automatically reconfigure the settings.
Just repeat the above process.
solution
1. Tap Start.
2. Tap Settings.
3. Tap Phone.
4. Tap the Network Tab.
5. Tap the Network Selection Drop down.
6. Tap Manual.
7. Tap the desired network.
8. Tap Ok.

Trouble sigin in wifi network

I was able to sign my wifi network (wpa2-psk) but after login it will give me error.
Unable to connect to wifi network. Sign in procedure not supported.
Anyone know a way to fix it?
Just for testing, switch yout WLAN to WEP.
Gruß Kai
WPA-PSK works for me with my Cisco access point for what it's worth.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using XDA Free mobile app
WEP doesn't work, my home router and office all got the same problem. But if i open AP hotspot from my phone it works...
Is your Network visible? Try what happens if it is visible. Another Test, try your WLAN open without Encryption.
Gesendet von meinem SM-G925F mit Tapatalk
Yes visible, tried open also won't work. Its weird only work if i AP from my phone. Other wifi network will let me pass thru authentication and i see the obtaining ip message and connected but after few sec it will give me the "Unable to connect to wifi network. Sign in procedure not supported".
Wifi Connection
Having the exact same problem. Anyone able to troubleshoot this matter
After the last update Gear S2 WiFi connection support passwords long not over 12 characters.
Before update I was connected to my WEP (13 HEX couples of characters, that is 26 characters). After update I cannot succeed in connecting any more.
I asked to Sumsung support and they suggest me to shorten the password...
Now I have shifted to WPA encryption with password long 8 characters and now the Gear S2 connects with no issues.

I too am having wifi connection problems. I have the Gear S2 AT&T model SM-R730A
I was getting the message sign-in procedure not supported and what I found was, since this device has no browser to input the login- username and password, you get that message.
Really Samsung? You stick a wifi radio in this thing but can't connect to most wifi's out there.
Went into my Samsung account and synced my wifi logins from my phone to gear S2 and now they are saved on the gear S2 and it logs in without the message (not supported).
Only problem is, it says it's connected to the wifi, but nothing works on that network from the gear. Still not logged in to the wifi network I believe. But then why does it say connected.
It works great on a wifi network that only requires a password, but as you know most hotels and other hot spots require username and password in a browser.
I do not have a sim card yet because if I can't get the wifi to connect and work, I'll probably sell it.
Anyone have an idea what to do next? That includes you SAMSUNG! And YES I called your service techs and they are pretty much clueless about the Gear S2.

You are mistaken.
You have to turn BT off to get wifi to actually turn on. If BT is on and connected, the watch will use PAN for networking, and not turn on the wifi radio.
Turn off BT. Shortly after, you can see APs listed in the wifi section of Connections that the watch is receiving. If you tap on one that is not already saved, it will prompt for a password that can be entered with the tiny keyboard.
If a saved AP won't connect, tap on it and hit the FORGET button. Then follow the above procedure.
Keep in mind that as long as BT is turned off, you will be connected "remotely", so notifications will be slower, and some functions are not available (controlling media on the phone from the watch, for example). Also, if you have a 3G version, outgoing calls will use the watch standalone number over 3G, not the phone.

Thank You for responding, but you must be missing something from my post.
Bluetooth connection to phone must be in standby mode, not actually turned off and then wifi will put it into remotely connected status. At this time you are able to connect to wifi networks that only require a password. I am able to do this much and it works fine.
It's when it needs to be authenticated (an open wifi with no lock shown but needs a username and password entered) as with most public wifi, and that's when it gives the sign in procedure not supported error even when synced wifi profiles from phone have been saved to gear s2.
I hope I'm missing something here but I've been working on this for awhile and nothing seems to work. Samsung techs are useless as we are on our own and I do appreciate any and all help.
Thanks Again!
no ravenjim, you are correct. I have the same issue at my job. We have an open wifi here at my job which allows all the employees to connect to using their phones or tablets and even personal laptops. However once connected you are taken to a AT&T welcome page with our company info and logo and are required to just hit connect. Once you click connect you can surf the internet with your personal devices.
So since the S2 does not have a browser I get the same error "sign in procedure not supported". Sucks but oh well
Does anyone experiencing low wifi signal on your gear s2 classic (wifi only)?? I did some test with my other samsung device in same position and get maybe 3 or 4 signal bar, but only 1 signal bar on my gear s2 sometimes no signal at all.
Is there any solution for this bug yet?
yes before the last update on my gear s2 classic SM-R732 everything was fine, now with the latest update R732XXU2CPC4 i can't get login to my wifi networks, and also the battery is easier to get drain, usually 1,5 days with several push notification, auto wake up gesture ON, moderate Heart Rate, brightness level on 7, watch faces using classic with black background + grande dial + date, but now i must charge the phone every 6-7 hours with the same setting, already factory reset the phone and still got the same situation. Is there another way to fix this rather than waiting the new updates? If possible i'll choose the previous firmware/software on my phone
I am having a similar problem with my WiFi connection, gear s2 was connecting fine to my home and work network for about a month now with no problems, suddenly today the same error msg posted here is appearing whenever i try to connect to my wifi at home, i did restart both phone and watch, also changed my wifi setting to visible and shortened my password, all with no luck, still getting same error msg...
Still got to try to reset the watch... Will that wipe out all my watch faces? Probably will... But if that doesn't fix it I won't be able to send my watch faces back from my PC, which is why i wanted to connect remotely in the first place, so i can install a new watch face...
Any suggestions?
Anyone solved thos problem?
P. S. I have a classic non lte version
Okay, how can we connect to public wifi at a library, mall, xfinity/comcast, starbucks, etc. where we are normally redirected to a browser to accept terms of service, or to sign on using account credentials before connecting to their wifi?
I requested that my work manually register my watch's mac address on the network, so it is saved as a device that has access. So you might want to reach out to your network team for a solution.
A question about using public WiFi. Is there any security risk to the watch in addition to the phone?

WiFi issue with K1

I have the WiFi K1. When I'm at work - I can choose 2 different WiFi networks to connect to - 1 is guest access and is unsecured, the other is a secured network which is for employees and their personal devices. Up until today there was no issue. I was able to connect to the secure WiFi network using my ID and password. Yesterday afternoon my password changed. So this morning, I "forget" the network, then reselect it, add my ID and my new password. But the "connect" button stays grayed out and I can't tap it to connect. I went into the reset settings to reset all the network settings - that didn't work.
Anyone have any ideas why the "connect" button is staying grayed out and/or what I can do to try to resolve it? I have a OnePlus 3 cell phone - and that hasn't had an issue - I was able to connect this morning using my new password.
Thanks ..

MS web site login.live.com rejected over WiFi networks

My Samsung Note8 SM-N950F/Android v. 9 can log to MS login Web site OK via 3/4G networks. And it can open other web sites on mu home WiFi Network.
But, when trying to login to MS over my home WiFi Network, login.live.com page indicates that the site is not accessible, asking to check if the login.live.com address is correct, with error message: DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN . Idem with my second Note 8 phone. Connecting to my neighbour’s WiFi network: same issue with MS login.!
Tried with Chrome, Edge and Firefox browsers on same phone: idem. On MS support site found other users with Samsung Galaxy 8 S and Huawei P Smart phones report the same issue.
But my son's OnePlus 6T Android v. 10 phone can login to MS without any problem over my WiFi network. And no problem with my Win10 PC via WiFi either!!!
What is the reason? Android version 9 vs 10, WiFi configuration on the phone, or phone brand related issue??
Please Help!

Radivoj
Delete & re-add network
Delete a Wi-Fi network from your phone
Open your phone’s Settings app.
Tap Network & internet And then Wi-Fi.
If needed, turn on Wi-Fi.
At the bottom, tap Saved networks.
In the list, tap the saved network that you want to delete.
Tap Forget.
Add the Wi-Fi network again
Open your phone’s Settings app.
Tap Network & internet And then Wi-Fi.
At the end of the list, tap Add network.
If needed, enter the network name (SSID) and other security details.
Tap Save. If needed, enter a password.
Check for problem apps
The problem can be from an app that you downloaded. To find out, restart your phone in safe mode.
Turn on safe mode. Learn how to turn on safe mode.
Try connecting to the Wi-Fi network again.
Open your phone’s Settings app.
Tap Network & internet And then Wi-Fi And then the network name.
See whether the Wi-Fi connection works in safe mode.
If the Wi-Fi connection works in safe mode
A downloaded app is most likely causing the issue.
To exit safe mode, restart your phone.
Uninstall recently downloaded apps one by one. See whether the connection works.
After you remove the app that's causing the problem, reinstall the other apps.
If the Wi-Fi connection doesn't work in safe mode
Likely, there's a problem with the Wi-Fi network or internet connection.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Bruce
Hi Bruce,
Thank you for your advise. I already tried everything what you told me to, and it still does not work I tried this also on a brand new Note 8, without any additional apps installed. I can modify DNS1/2, but the SAVE button is greyed out, so the modification can not be registered !
Just had a chat with Samsung France technical support, asking them whether DNS change can or can not be done in their phones, and received the response that to modify DNS I should contact Google and not Samsung !!!
GOOD NEWS !
Searching Internet I found an excellent article concerning DNS modifications under different Android versions:
https://www.androidpolice.com/2020/03/26/make-android-use-dns-server-choice/
I followed it's recommendations for changes in My Note 8/Android 9 (pie) and MS connect worked flawlessly when I selected either Quad9 or Cloudflare Private DNS!
I found there was also another solution: from Google Store download and install DNSet application (others also available). After starting it overrides current DNS Setup and all performs perfectly.
However, preferred using the first solution for safety reasons.
Best regards,
Radivoj
