5.1 Update Out? - Shield Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok, So I posted about a week ago and someone said that Nvidia had pulled the OTA 5.1 update because they had issues.
Have they started rolling the OTA back out yet? Still on 5.0 and would like the update soon.
My bootloader is unlocked, but I'm running the stock 5.0 ROM. What would be the best method of getting it?
Thanks in advance.

No, it's not out yet. nVidia hasn't said much about it, it's been terribly quiet...

from twitter: "We are working hard to finish up fixes for issues reported in OTA 3.0.I'll see if I can give a better date once fixes are verified."

[Q] Am I the only one without 4.4.4?

I thought the retail US moto g was suppose to get android 4.4.4 but I never got it. I am still on 4.4.3 and when I check for updates nothing comes up. Did everyone else get it?
Rollout for 4.4.4 was delayed due to some unknown issue (legal?) specific to US. I expect Retail US XT1032 and XT1034 will get their OTA update in the next week.

That's surprising. I was looking for that information, I suppose I am in the same scenario (see attached snapshot)?
So I'm not the only one...

No you are not. At this point I do not think we will get a 4.4.4 update. I bet it gets skipped. I've been waiting patiently for awhile now for a update because for some reason the 4.4.3 update killed my battery performance. I haven't been using my moto g as much because of this. I was hoping the 4.4.4 update would help with my battery. It's a shame we are all waiting on motorola to release another update.

My battery is working normally, but I'm really expected for the Android L update, 4.4.4 is just a "minor" update, I think.
Just got the update yesterday.

[Q] Will new Lollipop update show if I do not update current one?

I have got a new Nexus 5. Originally, it came with KitKat 4.4.2, and KitKat 4.4.4 was available immediately, to which I updated.
Just a few days ago, I got the notification for Lollipop 5.0.1 update. Reading about several Lollipop issues on Nexus 5, I do not want to update to Lollipop yet, and I intend to continue using KitKat 4.4.4.
I also read on the internet that the major update of Lollipop, 5.1, will be released in February. So, I want to wait for that.
My question is this.
If I do not update to Lollipop 5.0.1 update, and when a new version of Lollipop is available, for example, 5.0.3, or 5.1, or any other newer update, will I get the notification for that, even if I have not installed the current update?

I don't know for sure if you'll get the update notification or not but it won't install if you do. The updates have become sequential and you'll need to have the one before or the new update won't install.

So in other words, double update at that time if you're willing to wait
Thanks for the replies .
Yea, I had guessed that it might be required to install the previous updates before updating to the current one. That's no problem, and I can perform the double updates. I am willing to wait for a Lollipop version which won't have any major issues.
The issue will be of notification... whether there will be notification for the new update or not. It will be good to get it, but I have doubts about it.
Do you guys know if Lollipop 5.0.1 is having any major issues on Nexus 5? I keep reading conflicting reports about it. An article on a site says that the author is not having any major issues... but my cousin who updated to it sometime ago, is having many issues.. app crashing, and all.
That's why I think I will wait. It's a brand new Nexus 5, and I haven't started using it. Had been waiting for the Lollipop update, but by the time it arrived, I read about several issues, and was glad that I did not update.
I had also read that Lollipop 5.0.1 had been released but pulled back for Nexus 5, and I wasn't expecting it on my phone, but I was surprised to receive it.
Willing to wait for another Lollipop update, but that constant notification about system update is going to be quite a pain .

Thanks. That's good to know. And now you have me in a fix again... thinking whether to update or not . Will think about it.

Should I OTA update? Software info inside

I suppose it's only been about a couple months since I rolled back to factory, unrooted then rooted again, flashed TWRP and did another Debloat session with this phone so my question is from
5.0.1 Android
Kernel 3.4.0
Build LRX21Y
Soft D850211
Should I bother doing all this again to accept the OTA? Of all the things I've learned about phones I've never learned how to properly evaluate an update so if anyone can point me in the right direction as to maybe some reading material I'd appreciate that too You guys are numero uno.
I don't know of D850211. If you are on 21q, the OTA is 21r and is the patch for stagefright. However it seems some people are having issues with the 21r update so it is really up to you.

Marshmallow?

Has anyone been working on Marshmallow? Or are we waiting on the official OTA if it does come out?
.......if CM has released 6.0 then the CM being made for the T-Mobile/Metro variant is 6.0 other then that we are waiting fir the OTA/KDZ preferably a KDZ cause then a Custom Rom can be made from it so people can keep root...
Hopefully for 6.0 ?
Ota's were announced for tmobile with an undetermined date but supposedly toward the end of November or the beginning of December
I know it's an older thread but I was wondering the same thing and came across this. http://www.vcpost.com/articles/97041/20151007/android-6-0-marshmallow-update-confirmed-coming-lg-g-stylo.htm
Looks like those of us not on a ROM should get an OTA by the end of the year. Since I'm on the Katana ROM I will be patiently waiting for something custom or for an official release of a kdz

there are no official KDZ...apparently it's just some works that leak the stock firmware...when they can, hence why not every carrier get's the love of KDZ
Does 6.0 will come to LG g stylo on boots mobile?

Long wait for update?

It's been a long while since the last system or security update on my S8+, EU version G955FXXU1AQH3
Any idea when we might get an update?
I could update to AQJ1 today. October 1 patch just in time for November ?
I also keeps an eye on (for NEE) http://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?q=SM-G955F&rpp=15&r=NEE&order=date&dir=desc&exact=1
Thanks! Still no joy here.
Still no update here. Has anyone in UK got it yet?

Yes, I told my friend about it and he got an update immediately after he signed up for the beta.
I didn't, I'm still waiting
Finally, finally, got the update notification today. Will be installing it tonight.
