[Completed] D2TMO Samsung Galaxy SIII Battery Issue - XDA Assist

I am having problems with my Galaxy SIII, it is nearly dependent on a wall wart. The touchscreen won't work until I clear the cache, but even then, it forces itself to turn off. This is on a 70%+ charge. This does not occur within Recovery. Thus, this would mean that its pointed towards a software related issue. I can boot into an OS, meaning that it is not the battery at fault. I have no idea what is happening. I have tried different roms and different kernels. I even tried corn kernels. I can barely use my phone to do anything now. Its become a real issue and I have no idea what to do! I just flashed FLEX OS, and I no longer have to clear cache or experience odd power outages. If anyone can help me, I would like a reply to this thread!

[Q] Galaxy S II Battery Problem

Hey everyone, I need some help here.
A friend of mine bought a Galaxy S II about 5 days ago.
Her problem is that her battery lasts for like half a day. The only thing she has turned on is mobile network (3g). No wifi, no bluetooth or anything else. She has installed several applications, but nothing too extreme.
What could be the reason? And how is this solvable?
I was thinking of calibrating the battery, and if the problem persists, take it to replace.
The main problem is that it is not sure whether they are going to replace it, since when she was looking to buy it, she could barely find it, and the one shop that had it said that it was the last one they had on stock. They all said that Samsung had stopped producing models and, thus, they had none left.

this may not be a problem of faulty battery in the first place. try changing few things (lowering the brightness, switching off all the radios when not in use etc) and see if that improves the battery life. if it doesn't, then approach the service center, they will get it replaced. hope it helps
If it is actually a hardware problem, will it be a battery problem? Or a problem with the device itself?
Could be some rogue apps. GO Launcher and GO Locker can cause this if not set up properly. Coupled with with poor internet coverage if your 3g is poor, can cause the phone to continuously fail at synching and not preventing it to sleep well.
Uninstall programs you suspect are causing your phone to turn on periodically or check the battery power usage in settings to see which apps are draining the battery the most.
If still troublesome install Better Battery Stats from the forum which can give you more detail as to the cause of battery drain.

[Q] Display Failure 1 Month after flashing CM 10.1 - any ideas as to the cause?

Hi Everyone,
I bought an S3 at the end of May, rooted and flashed cm 10.1 about a week later (and flashed firmware required to get the camera working a few days after that).
Earlier this week, the display suddenly shifted green and started to die - no amount of resetting, wiping, or unrooting and flashing stock would fix it (the screen ultimately came back on, but with a permanent blue-green tint and low resolution). Although I've basically chalked it up to a hardware failure (maybe gpu?), I got a replacement and am a little hesitant to flash CM again for fear that this might be a common issue.
Has anyone here experienced something similar? Is there any way that flashing and running a custom rom for a month could put undue stress on the motherboard, gpu, or other hardware? Would a custom kernel address the issue?
Just basically looking for thoughts from people who are way more experienced with this stuff than I am. Sorry if this has been posted before; I browsed the forums briefly and the display issues I saw didn't quite seem to match what I experienced.

A co-worker of mine had an S3 T999 on tmobile that did this same exact thing on the stock unrooted rom. I'd say its unrelated to CM, and glad you got a replacement. It should not do it again, so CM is safe to run on it.
Not a Rom issue. Sounds like just bad luck of the draw. I am on my 3rd or 4th s3 and i haven't had a Rom kill my phone yet.

[Completed] [Q] Problems with a Monster M7

Howdy, y'all; trying to find information about my Monster M7 tablet.
I bought it last December when Walmart offered it for $100. Sounded like a good deal, considering the brand.
Like many others who bought one, my M7 has been problematic. After installing the latest firmware update from Monster (at the mymonstertablet.com/faq page), I'm now able to use all 16GB of installed memory (less that required by the O/S). OK; some progress.
After having purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (8" screen; I like it) lately for about the same price as the M7, I'll only use the M7 as a Chromecast controller, an OBD-II code reader, and to test EPUB docs that I develop. And maybe coupla apps before I completely forget how to build Java code.
However, until I solve the battery problem, it's mostly unusable. Even though the battery indicator shows fully charged, the M7 boots but only runs for coupla minutes before it quits. It runs correctly if a power adapter is connected to the microUSB socket.
I've read about /data/system/batterystats.bin, but this post indicates that deleting the file won't have the effect that some Android users think:
http://www.xda-developers.com/andro...-battery-stats-does-not-improve-battery-life/
Where should I post about this Monster M7 problem?
Thanks much.
Please note, if Battery continues to give trouble, deleting BatteryStats will not help. you have a defective battery.

Thanks much for your reply. I'll repost at "Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting." I've filed a warranty claim with Monster. No response yet.

Hmm ... could be a hardware issue. Who has replaced the charging dock strip?
If a service/repair center, try to claim warranty.
But it sound similar to this: Samsung Galaxy S4 MT6572 GT-I9500 no service solution !!! by pacattosul.

[Completed] Deleted credentials/certificates on Galaxy S6, phone now makes unusual noises

Phone: Samsung Galaxy S6
Android 6.0.1 - 2 updates since issue bagan
I had the issue where I could not revert to a standard swipe unlock after using a pin, and was told a solution was to clear credentials/certificates.
This solved my problem, but created another. As it stands, about 75% of unlocks it plays one/both of two sounds, which granted do sound like some sort of unlock sound, however not standard to the way the phone shipped. It also happens at random, sometimes as a response to a touch, or just whenever it feels like it. It is one of or both of the same two sounds presented with at unlock. They are ridiculous and am preventing me from using the phone whilst not on silent. The phone has a mind of its own.
NFC is turned off.
I am not tech illiterate and thought I could fix it, however it has beaten me. Any help would be appreciated.
Well ,
Could you post ur question on s6 forum
