Battery case with Qi wireless charger? - Galaxy S6 Accessories

Is there such an accessory like this? Battery case but uses qi wireless instead of micro usb plugged on the phone.

Unlikely, wireless charging is very inefficient, so the useful capacity of a case like that would not be large (not to mention the coils are pretty large and heavy)

Dont really understand what u mean with battery case, but I ordered this one 10.000mah powerbank with QI wireless charging and should get around 1-2 weeks (I hopes). If its what u mean?

Its like this:

But it uses wireless charging capabilities like yours

Never seen that, but have seen this > http://www.amazon.com/QiStone-Completely-compatible-SlimPWRcard-Plus/dp/B00KOOE5SK
It's a fully wireless compact qi charger battery pack.

Nah, s6 have already a built-in wireless charging capability.

Lol, he's talking about a power case with built in battery/case at the same time. That has an wireless charging capability so he doesn't have take out the phone from the case to wirelessly charge or have to plug a USB into the case. As for the question. No there isn't any that I came across so far, and if there is, it would cost an arm maybe a leg too.

Did you ever find one?

The Incipio Off Grid (http://www.incipio.com/chargers/off...-extended-battery-case-samsung-galaxy-s6.html) is almost there. You can charge the case wirelessly, but the phone still connects via USB to the case.

Galaxy S7 got an official one: http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EP-TG930BBUGUS

If you want a case with working wireless charging capabilities, this is the best option:
http://www.tylt.com/power-cases/energi-sliding-power-case-for-samsung-gs-gs6-edge
It's bulky but the power sleeve is there when you need it!

check out makezens.com as well

I got one in from aliexpress.com but there output voltage is very low! so no point! and the rest are expensive for my currency as they cost like 100$

There seems to be some confusion among posters about what exactly is being asked and why it may be needed. What is NOT being asked for is a battery case where the case charges wirelessly. Nor is the poster asking for a battery case slim enough to allow wireless charging of the phone when the case is on.
What IS desired is a battery case that connects to the phone via the Qi (wireless) charging connection and NOT via the microUSB port.
This is needed on occasion because charging via the microUSB port can be disabled due to shorts, port wear, or water exposure. My phone currently is in this state where it can ONLY charge via wireless. When I need power on the go, there is no good option (other than rubber-banding a wireless power pack to my phone, which is absurd). Additionally, power cases connecting via microUSB cannot work with my phone for this reason (none of the products posted in this thread will work).
So with that cleared up, has anyone seen the rare unicorn of a power case that charges wirelessly?

S4 Wireless Charging and Car Charger

Hey,
Want to add wireless charging to my S4. But I also want to get a wireless charging dock for my car. I have read a little but I am kinda clueless on the tech.
I currently have a UAG Scout case on my S4. Any one know of a combo that would work with this case?
Thanks in advance.
Make sure to order a thin coil, phone tends to get hot and slow on charge rate. it does work though with a bulky lifeproof case and with my Nexus 7. Spent about 20 on ebay, almost all are made in China.
Will any wireless charger work?
Will probably need to be 2 amp capable.
Any specific charging card you recommend?
Hey got a wireless charger and wireless charging card.
But when I put the phone on the charger it says it's charging wireless and the charge icon on the battery shows up also. Then the charging icon disappears. Is it suppose to do this? How do I tell if it's still charging?
Thanks

[Q] Looking For Battery Case w/ Quick Charge 2.0

I am looking for a battery case (yes case, I don't want any external battery pack) that has decent protection and supports QC 2.0 when charging the phone thru whatever pass through micro usb port there is on the case. I don't really care how fast the battery in the case charges, I just want to make sure that I won't be shafting my quick charging capability by putting on such a case.
Did you find one? I came across this, FYI:
"A 5 Volt battery (which all of them are) isn't going to give you a quick charge, so none of them are. You need 9 Volts to quick charge using Samsung's method. Give iit time and companies like Anker will probably come out with special packs for Samsung."
http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...-not-qualcomm-quickcharge-2-0-compatible.html
I need one too
Incipio's Offgrid supports Quickcharge 2.0 passthrough. http://www.incipio.com/cases/samsun...-extended-battery-case-samsung-galaxy-s6.html
So does this one: http://www.amazon.com/PowerSuit®-Ex...pebp=1437159482332&perid=1639MSQ5SW0SPDAQVBRA
@RedXXII - that is freaking AWESOME! I battery case that 1) allows Adaptive Fast Charging pass-through, 2) allows NFC comms, and 3) PROVIDES FOR USE OF STORAGE CARD!! GENIUS!
I didn't see where the second one allowed pass-through, but I'm knackered so I may have missed.
The Incipio Offgrid is $70 on eBay. If it'll allow Qi charging too, I'll buy it in a heartbeat! Thanks for sharing that info!
[EDIT: the lone commenter at the bottom of Incipio's page explicitly states it will not work with wireless charging. Since it allows for NFC, I wonder if the other wireless charging has more "battery case punch through" abilities.]
@bwb8771: I actually have two Samsung Wireless chargers coming tonight. Since I still have my Incipio OffGrid, I will check and let you know. I also had a Powersuit battery case that allowed QC passthrough but unfortunately, it did not hold up well in a drop test.
@RedXXII - I'd love to hear what you find!
@bwb8771: Unfortunately, it does not work through the case. I have two of the Samsung Official Wireless chargers. Sorry.
MUCH appreciated!

For my long flight to Europe I'll be buying the Aukey Quick Charge 2.0 10400mAh Portable External Battery Fast Charger (/URL]), so the OffGrid battery will be nice.
Having the SD card will let me store enough music that I won't go through Spotify withdrawals

not saying its not nice its just not a true quickcharge battery case output max is 1 ma and i am only getting 433ma same when I wireless charging so its miss leading saying quick charge.
okay update i am a little bit happier when its connected to samsung oem quickcharge it only charges at 433 ma but when disconnected and running on battery case it jumps to almost 2 ma which is wierd since max output is only 1ma but phone is charging fast so not too bad
I think you might be mis-understanding what Incipio is relating. They are only indicating that their case will ALLOW (not provide) quick charging through their hardware.
That is to say, if you connect the proper 15-watt AND proper micro USB cable, the quick charging of the phone will occur with the case in place.
Would you agree, @RedXXII ?

nope quick charge does not work "pass-through" when you have the case on as stated in the the message I left earlier it will charge the phone at .5ma ig if case connected to charger but, if you have the adapter unplugged from the case it charges the phone at 1ma or more the battery case even charges slower when connected to the phone.
but again i bought the case and it charge as fast as my non quick-charge adapter when not plugged in the only thing is that the phone and the battery case both charges slow when battery case is on phone

The cord that works fine without the case for fast charging doesn't work right with case on (think case doesn't see it as a fast charge device) so i decided what the hell switched the cable to the one in the box and now its charging fast. so use the cable provided with the case for fast charging to work it seems
Mine worked with any cable I used. It is dependant on the brick that you plug the cable into. Do you have any pictures of the case? I'm trying to figure out if I have a defective one. Mine will not close at the top. There is a noticeable gap.

Qi charging

What Qi-charging options are there for the xperia Z5?
Any chance that Sony will release something similar to WCR14, or are we stuck with fitting generic receivers between the phone and a case?
As I know, z5 doesnt support wirelless charging out of the box

Yeah, exactly, no support for wireless charging. However, Sony has released cases with built-in wireless charging for earlier models of the Z-line
and I was wondering if anyone knew if they are going to release a similar solution for the Z5 Compact.
At the moment it seems as though the only viable option is to install a qi-receiver bought on ebay or a similar site and pair it with a case.
Not so bad i guess, since it probably is a hell of a lot cheaper and you get to choose whichever case you want.
Awaiting my Z5C now and will update when I have installed a qi solution.
That is impossible becouse that cases before have connection over magnetic charger and z5c dont have it.
Okay, bummer..
I thought they might solve the problem of the missing magnetic port by using the micro-usb connection..
Just wanted to confirm, I purchased a Qi Wireless Receiver that connects over USB - no dice. They don't have the "teeth" that microusb ports have and due to the water proofing the port doesn't turn on.

Just wanted to post to say that this is wrong. What it needs to work is a connector has the data pins to be connected so that it shows that it's capable of outputting higher than 500mA. I'm using the Zoer receiver that has that and it works fine. Amperage is between 260mA to 770mA depending on the qi charger that I use.
no, not really. This qi definitely works.

You just need one with 4 pins instead of the cheaper 2 pin ones. I have one which definitely works. Unfortunately, xdadevelopers doesn't let new users post links for some reason, so I can't help anybody with the link to the one I use. I spent a lot of time working out what to use and finally went into a 'retail store' to test the one I ordered before ordering my own z5 compact. If anybody wants the link to the ebay item, just email at [email protected]. Make sure you choose the 'A type' for the z5 compact. Works a treat. There is a lot of confusion about qi on the z5. Some people are saying that it is because of its waterproof attributes, you can't do it. Not so. This works perfectly and once on, can be used with any QI standard charging mat.
Guy, anyone tried with the quickcharge wireless pad yet? By the way, do we need to have quick charge supported receiver coils in order to use the quick charge charging pad?

I've never seen a quick charger receiver? I gave up on this in favor of quick charging at lunch
For those that have gone down this route a couple of questions please:
1) How has the QI receiver lasted if the phone is submerged? Did it just need rinsing in clean water and drying out or was it screwed?
2) Is there a maximum thickness to the case which I should worry about?
3) What sort of time does it take to charge up?
4) If I'm playing music or video will it charge quicker than I'm draining the battery?
Thanks!
I just got this one:
ASIN=B01E15W2ZA
and it works good with my Xperiy Z5 Compact. It charges with about 600...700 mA, something les than with a normal charger, but absolutely enough for my purpose - modt of the time I just want to recharge over nitght. It goes up to 100 %.
The included power bank feature can also be used via Qi, but probably smarter it to use it with a cable to not waste Your capacity as heat.
By the way: Even NFC works through the receiver!
But still I folded the receiver cable twice to position the receiver on the lower edge of the beackside of the phone. This way I avoid the risk, that NFC sensitivity gets reduced and I can line up the phone better on the charger, because it must lay quite exact on the cross.
i have qi charger for 5c and it works. i order plate fro qi and qi charger from ebay. just this qi sticker must set under some case. another way it is possible to broke it.

Wireless charging worry free

I've seen more than a few questions arise about certain wireless chargers and restrictions, but don't worry. My wife has the Mophie wireless charging case and charging pad for the iPhone 7+ and the built wireless charging on the S8+ is compatible both with and without a case. So for anyone spending extra for a specific wireless charging package keep it simple it works!
It may not work with every FAST wireless charger... I have 6 that I used withe S7 Edge that worked great, but 4 of them do not work with the S8+ for no obvious reason....
link to the one you have....Also are you using your supplied cable?
I got the RooRoo (stupid name) on amazon for $21 and it's been working fine with my S8+. Got it for the S7E originally. Supports fast charge and doesn't have any trouble. Phones in a case and the charger is only tall enough to touch just below the camera.
Edit: I do both technically. If I need to use my phone or I am at work, I tend to just have a corded charger I use. Else wise I use the wireless stand.

Can just pick the phone up and use it then lay it back down and it'll stay topped up. Was thinking of the official Samsung one.......glad i didn't
I have no idea why one would spend 1,000€ on a device then skimp on a 40-50€ Samsung charger? Like buying a Merc' or BMW etc then using xxxx 40€ seat covers or floor mats.
With all the controversy regarding the subject of third party chargers be they wall or wireless for the small financial difference I always go for the Samsung branded accessories. Typically me though, not all the same are we?

Lol, I hear you. Now behave yourself lol, you can't be THAT skint to purchase the S8+ :highfive:
This is a tough debate. Numerous threads on XDA cover this point and so many owners have damaged their mobiles using third part chargers. At the very least take a very careful look at the specs on any third party charger and ensure they are identical to the charger that came in the box, even then there can be problems though? Its a gamble.
Please look after yourself and your mobile eh?

Easy to purchase when you have been on mobile contracts for donkeys years

Qi Wireless Charging

After doing some research I see that the XZ Premium doesnt have Qi charging built in like most other devices. There exists external wireless charging receivers that connect to the USB C port in the device to charge it. Im just curious if anyone has tried it and if so what are your thoughts?
Is it convenient to drop the device on a pad to charge if for around £15/$20? Or is it convenient enough just to continue using USB C?
Also I would like to know if charging speeds differ not that it would matter to me as I charge overnight but im just curious.
Thanks.
That sounds absolutely silly. Unless the plug-in accessory/dongle is actually also a case of some sort, what on Earth would be the point of plugging in an adapter to use wireless charging? If you are going to plug the phone in, just use the cable. Wtf...

some of these wireless adaptors have a very slim usb cable and pad so they can be placed in a case having a usb plug in the port all the time will keep dust out but could be annoying if you need to use the port for data transfer. In my experience charging is slower because most of the ones I have seen are rated at about 1A also they have to be placed on the charging pad just right and don't always work if your case is to thick. I use a micro usb one with my old phone worked well with one of those cheap TUP cases with the plastic back with the kick stand but only when I took the plastic back off. Another option is one of the magnetic cables not wireless charging but saves the usb port. hope this helps sorry I cant post links because this is my first post.

Well if it's not built in the phone why would i use dongles or anything else? unless there is a case that has a protection for the phone and wireless charging then i do not see a point on it.

Ive read that people use a case and they just place the receiver inside the case since its said to be really thin. Also the cable that plugs in is like a flex cable so you could easily hide the receiver inside a case.

My car has a nice wireless charging pocket that you put you phone in. It feels a lot nicer without having to plug in a cable and make a mess out of it. I would prefer using a wireless charging case just to NOT use an extra cable.
