[Q] Display problem (Possibly Burn in SEVERE) - Note Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently bought a Note Edge n915yf from an on line second hand shop. Cell phone is in mint condition BUT the screen.
It has severe burn ins or ghosting i am not really sure about it. .
I have 2 questions ?
1st Phone still has 1 year factory warranty , is the burn in , covered by there warranty or i have to pay the cost ?
2nd is there any PROOVEN solution for it like the various tools found online like , Display Testers and Burn in fixers ?
ive checked various topics about nexus 6 an note 4 but none for the edge.

Wow I am sorry. That looks worse than the burn in on my S4 which is on for work 12 hours a day.
1) I'd email samsung support in the country you're in
2) Not sure that you'd benefit from a burn in fixer, long term no benefit IMO.

Thnks man appreciated.

Backlight bleed on i9023???

I got my phone a few days back and on full brightness I notice backlight bleed at the top left of the screen. It isnt very noticible but is nevertheless annoying. My computer LCD also has bleed at about the same spot so I know LCD's do have this problem but I am not sure if the nexus S is supposed to have it.
So anyone else has backlight bleed? Can I and should I claim warranty on this? If I claim warranty I should demand a replacement instead of repairing and putting a new LCD in it right? My phone is barely a few days old.
I have 3 dead pixels as well.
Seems like I have corner bleed as well with full brightness. Please someone comment on the quality of the i9023 display? I know dead pixels are pretty common and they dont really bother me. But I am kinda disappointed with the backlight uniformity.
That should be plenty to get you a new screen or a refurb phone. I don't have any screen bleeding on my i9023 and the SC-LCD is exceptional. Have a chat to samsung or your carrier while it's still brand new.
I don't have it. Get it replaced
Okay guys will go to the service center. I hope they accept it without much hassle.
Now as for refurbish phone, why should I be getting a refurb phone? My phone is less than a week old.
From memory, Samsung's policy doesn't involve getting you a brand new phone. They'll give you a refurbed one or change out your screen (most likely). However if you've bought it from a reseller or service provider, they might be able to offer you a new one no hassles. It all depends really, and i've not gone through it to really comment.
Just remember if you end up sending it in, don't put the back cover or battery in there and unroot and relock bootloader just in case. If you're lucky you'll get an extra back cover and battery for your troubles.

I dont have the phone rooted so thats not an issue.
I bought a sim free nexus from samsung distributor in my country. I really didnt know about this samsung policy it really stinks if true.
I dont have time to get the LCD replaced as I am leaving town next week and it kills resale value as when you sell the first thing the other person asks is if it's been repaired.
I will call the distributor tomorrow to see what "policy" they have regarding this. If I get new phone then good otherwise I will just keep using it. The problems with my LCD can only be seen with a keen eye so I really dont think it would cause a problem when selling the phone.
You'll probably be expecting a 3 - 4 week turnaround time if you send it to them (unsure about service centers and what powers they have in this) and you can have a read here. Luck of the draw most likely.
I just checked a friends iphone 4 and even that didnt have a very uniform screen at full brightness. Are you guys really sure you cannot see any bleed at full brightness in a dark room?? Not many LCD's are capable of that atleast the corners will be a bit more bright. And to be fair the nexus LCD does get really really bright on full brightness.
I think I can live with this since I barely use the phone on full brightness.
And I also searched about dead pixels, it seems many screens will have atleast one or 2 if you notice hard.

[Q] Star S9 Chinese Phone Cracked screen

I have bought the chines Star S9, fooled by the low price and extremely high specs, from here: flosmall.com/phones/star-s9-red-detail
And I must say that despite the phone having terrible battery life, randomly going to sleep, being on constant roaming (it was charging me as normal - ufff), having weird chines app installed that couldn't be removed (spyware or surveillance - never know with Chinese), the smart cover not working and having the most absurd themes(there was in fact no way to delete them or go back to original theme) i was happy having payed 175 pounds for a phone with FHD screen and 32 gb rom. Then after a month of it it dropped from about 50cm to a wooden floor, and the screen cracked in two(irony is it split right down the middle - left hand side is unresponsive while right works fine). When will they make screens that last (i know that iphone screens are good, but for android i heard ppl complain even about newest phones dropping from small distances and cracking).
Anyways here finally is my question. Does anyone know or have any information where i can get a replacement screen? Even the part number of screen would be helpful. Hell the website of manufacturer would be a plus (many star phones on Amazon but no manufacturer website - WTF??)
Message to all, DEFINITELY DO NOT BUY FROM CHINA or from outside Europe and America. 2nd DO NOT BUY CHEAP CHINESE PHONES I know just how tempting it is but save yourself the trouble and waste of money.
Thnaks for any help given,
Best,
Max
Cracked Screen
hi,the same thing happened to me a couple of days ago. I have been looking everywhere and the only thing helpful I have found was a 'LCD with Touch Screen Digitizer Assembly for Star S9 5.0 inch' on Aliexpress
However I don't know how to install the screen and it costs another £75.
If you know how to install screens or can help in anyway please do.
This phone cost me a lot of money and I don't want to waste it.
Thanks
Joel

I got one without any issues. I would go buy one in store so u can actually check it out before u leave. Dont let other peoples problems keep u from getting the phone u want. Unless u want to wait for the note 5 this is the only fingerprint scanner worth using other than the iphone

All the S6's have screen issues to some extent whether people wish to believe it or whether they can see it or not, but if you need a fingerprint scanner don't bother, it's rubbish.

No offence, but I think you do it wrong then. I have had 4 different phones with a fingerprint scanner and this is clearly the best and most accurate I have ever had. Only have my thumb scanned in once (some do more for better precision) and it always unlock the phone right away.
dont buy s6 ! sucks
-no memory
-no battery
-no radio and other problems with no fix
-no ROMS !
-pink screen in outdoor
-battery life sucks

Yeah, 44 hours + standby time with 4 hours SOT is ****ty battery.
Getting 8-10 hours SOT if using on Wifi all day. If I use my phone as my grandpa it can hold a week (calling once a day, else in standby). XtreStoLite is the rom to go if you want better battery.
i would say wait for the NOTE 5, because it will be better than the S6....you won't regret it, the only reason i regret getting the S6 is because i should of waited for the NOTE 5, but i couldn't wait half a year, i bought mine on april, and it's known that the NOTE 5 always gets unveiled on IFA but this time it will be unveiled sooner, i think about three weeks from now.....so i would say wait for it....
If you want to buy a phone today, get this one. This is the best android phone on the market right now (although I did love my g4), and out of the millions and millions sold, only a few are having major issues. The reason you see so many complaints is because happy people don't broadcast, but people with problems will tell everyone - it's a fraction of total users though. If there are other issues, like scratches or tint, they're pretty rare. That being said, there will be a number of other phones coming out in the next few months that may change the game a bit.
The phone does have very aggressive memory management, but unless you require multitasking it shouldn't be an issue (i use google nav with spotify playing in the background frequently, and never have an issue with doing things on top of that - music still plays and nav keeps going while I'm on xda or surfing the web).
edit - I haven't had any issues whatsoever with my phone, and once rooted and tweaked, it's even better.
So what abt app_e........ Ihave never used ios but what u guys say is it work buying such a costly phone or go with s6 as i today meself physicaly checked 4 s6 sets all having pinkish colour over white .......so confused my note 3 was better why i sold even cant wait foe note 5 release as its date is not clear and waiting sucks................
dont buy s6 ! you gonna end up like in jail ! no cyanogen mod no mods at all so far ! wait for note5 or one plus 2 am sure its gonna be better then this peace of trash

s7 edge vs lg g6 vs htc10

Hello.
I wanted to change my phone lately , so at first I looked at the phone I loved last year , htc10 (because of the clean android , no bloatware and the all around decent-ness) , until I noticed Id have a hard time finding screen protectors , cases , etc for the phone in my country , and it doesnt have warranty in my country and finding a repairman is hard if needed. so buying the htc 10 would be risky in the long run (and short run if I drop it or something)
then I saw the s7 edge on sale for a reasonable price (around $100 more expensive than the htc 10) so I considered that as well , but thats where I have my biggest question.
I have seen glass screen protectors for s7edge but all the comments said that it affected the touchscreen making it less sensitive to touch and all that . are the glass screen protectors for s7edge really that bad or are they the same as other phones' ?
(and by the way , weird as it may sound , s7edge is cheaper than normal s7 in my country , so I wouldnt want s7 , and I dont like touchwiz , so not a fan of samsung , but the s7edge price is nice when compared to my other choices)
then I saw the LG g6 , which I really like , but the software doesnt look good either (i've heard its similar to touchwiz about bloatware , and I dont like how it looks) and the previous flagships have had issues such as bootloops and broken camera lenses , which makes me worry about buying it.
i was also wondering if LG had any form of themes app similar to htc/samsung which could change the entire look of the phone ?
any recommendations which one to buy?
thanks in advance

Question Screen protector help / advice

Hi all
I'm hoping to get a z flip 4 soon and want to make sure it's as protected as possible. I want to put a good screen protector on it for obvious reasons and was wondering if I need to remove the factory one first or just put new one on top? I believe samsung say not to remove factory one but videos on YouTube say otherwise. What would you guys do?
Cheers
If u want to put another you have to remove factory one and if u not want to remove factory one then use it only
The factory one is pretty good. No more coming up at the edges. Bought presale still looks new. Samsung also offers one free replacement for first year.

@mt2020 Cheers bud, that's good to hear. I'm really looking forward to getting my first decent phone in years!!
The original foil on the display cannot be removed .
Samsung - threatens to void the warranty if the original foil is torn off .
Even when installing the phone , this message appears .
What's more , if the foil becomes damaged or peels off , Samsung will replace it free of charge .
It is also not recommended to stick additional foil .
Cordial greetings .
The internal one is good. I can see no point in trying to change it.
However, the real danger area is the one on the outside and I cannot work out whether it has a factory fitted protector or not. Any info?
Hello !
The external / cover display is not secured .
Personally , I had a foil stuck on - in one of the well-known chains with electronic equipment and RTV / household appliances .
The cost of such a service is less than 10 Euro ... and it lasted 5 minutes .
Due to the fact that I do not use any case , I also covered the entire phone from the outside .
I took my Flip4 to UBreakIfix to have the original factory screen protector replaced under warranty due to delamination. The Samsung website referred me to them. Unfortunately there are few shops in my area that have the machine to install them and they were out of stock. I didn't realize that they even had a machine to install screen protectors. The tech said that the protector delamination issue has been around since the first Flip. I hope the redesigned hinge on the Flip5 won't have this issue.
Dear @Matterhorn ,
tell - please - after what time the protective foil on your Flip 4 delaminates .
It just happened. I pre-ordered my Flip4 so it must be about 6 months old. I'm hoping that the replacement lasts until the Flip5 is released. I also hope they give a big trade in like last time. Otherwise I might have to go back to Pixel and get the 8.

Mine same age as yours, so far zero issues. Came from Pixel, bugs galore and slow to fix. Great camera though. Samsung really got their act together compared to 5 or more years ago. Watch 5 also isn't fully supported with pixel, so hoping camera gets big boost on flip 5.
