Hello everyone,
I've got a pretty simple question which I sadly couldn't find an answer for and I was hoping someone could maybe help?
I am going on holiday soon and I've created a map on Google Maps on my laptop which is saved to my google account. Is it possible to load this on my Google Maps app on my phone so that I can use it (offline if possible) when I am away? It is just a map with some places I want to visit rather than a route etc.
I tried playing around with the app but could seem to get it working.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

At this case i don't know if it's possible, but if you use google labs from maps at your device, you can cache maps you need offline.
There is no possiblity to calculate routs with this offline version, but you can search for places.
Check it, with opening maps -> Settings -> google labs -> check cache map (i don't know what it's real name in english, sry, but i'm sure you will find it^^) -> go back to normal mapview -> choose the middle of the map you want to cache -> open this point and at the bottom should stand something like save map to cache or so.
With this method you can save 16x16km area around the point you chosen. Up to 10 cached maps are possible and they can overlap if you want to.
Zooming and stuff like this is possible like everytime routes calculation is not possible.
Many thanks Tectas, that is a big help. I just tried now as I hadn't seen this function before.
OK it doesn't import the presaved map but it's still a very useful offline solution.
Much appreciated!
curious to see if anyone uses this app, and if they experience any issues with it? particularly, I used it the other day to map my bike ride, and although the app showed me where I was on a map, it failed to follow me (i.e. map my route). I made sure to set GPS to high accuracy, and I'm certain that my phone picked it up b/c android device manager shows my path.
I'm not sure if it is a problem with the app or OS (CM12 RR). I recall being able to map my path via the runtastic app on stock 4.4.4.
FWIW, I also have that app linked to Underarmour Record and Google Fit. Google fit does show that I biked that afternoon. So really, I'm just in search of a way to record/measure my distance that I biked/ran.
anyone with additional insight/help would be most appreciated.
thanks!
I want to be able to use Google maps and open a destination with a third party sat nav like Tom Tom instead of using the Google navigation. You used to be able to choose which app you wanted to open but now you can't, i'm curious if this is something that wouldn't take too much time or not. I did look into doing this myself but I'm no developer. If anyone has any suggestions on how to achieve this it would be greatly appreciated. For clarification on what I'm looking for there is a Cydia tweak called navigate from maps which does what I want.
Hi, I'm new to XDA and have a question regarding Mock Location on my Google Pixel 2 XL. I've searched far and wide for people experiencing an issue similar to mine only to find nothing.
I have a Verizon locked bootloader, but still have developer options etc. that I can enable like mock location. Though mock location is available for me to turn on, it seems to not work properly. I've tried several apps, the first being Fake GPS GO Location Spoofer Free by IncorporateApps.. The second was Fake GPS Location by Lexa.. I've had the same issue with both apps where the app does change my location to what I set it to, but when somebody tries to locate me from Google Maps Location Sharing, after some time of having the location set it doesn't update, and says the last time my location was updated was hours ago, as if I had location sharing off.
I don't think it's a problem with the apps I use, because the same thing happened with both. With my old phone, a Google Nexus 6, I used Fake GPS GO by IncorporateApps and it worked just fine, and the location would be visible and updating to the person trying to locate me on Android Device Manager, now called Find My Device.
I'm just not sure on whether or not it's an issue with the Locked bootloader not liking that I keep the mock location going for extended periods, or if it's an issue with Google Maps Location Sharing that doesn't like the use of mock location.
I did some troubleshooting with the phone of those trying to locate me (A Moto X) through Google Location Sharing when using mock location, to find that the location seems to "update" on the other phone when I go into Google maps from my phone. However, this hasn't proven to be a surefire way to get it to update, since it hasn't had a 100% success rate.
I'm sorry about the very long post, this just happens to be a complex issue and I want to explain with the best detail that I can. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much.
may i ask why you are using a GPS location spoofer in the first place? I'll answer this the best I can with my guess on what it could be.
It sounds like something to do with Google Maps and its cache system. Google Maps is constantly caching maps and locations temporarily to your device. Sharing that location with someone using Google Maps might have something to do with how Google Maps stores cache. If your location hasn't changed than Google Maps has no reason to update your location.

Thank you! That sounds like it could be it. Maybe I'll look further into the caching system for Maps.
My mock location is also not working on Pixel2 XL. I do not want to fake my location, I actually want to use an external survey grade GPS unit for precise location. And that has to be done through the mock location setting. But it is not working. Any ideas why that maybe?

Hi!
Do you have a working solution finally? I have the same issue...
Hi, recently I became a bicycle courier and currently I'm using Google maps on Android 6 phone to make deliveries. The problem with Google maps directions is they are limited to adding only 9 stops. I get a lot of orders at once and I need to figure out and REMEMBER the most optimal travel between dozens of pickup and drop off stops . On top of that I receive additional batches of orders all the time at any time during my runs which requires re-configuring and adding more stops to the trips.
A map app capable of more than 9 additional stops for directions will make my job a lot easier.
Also another annoying feature of Google maps is replacing the address with the name of the Place. For example “Crescent apartments” for a residential building address. This is a problem because on Google Maps directions, I see just stops which makes it hard to associate with the pickup and drop off addresses of my orders.
I will greatly appreciate your advice and input
