[Q] Notification, Ringtone and Alarm volume - Onetouch Idol 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone else noticed that the volume of the ringtones on this phone are mixed at a really high volume/decibel level? I turned the volumes all down to 1 tick above silent, and they're all still pretty loud. I can't seem to tell if its the phones speakers not having a quieter setting, or the notification sound mixes, being maxed out. I transferred the Neon alarm sound over from my Nexus 4, and that seemed to be able to be a little quieter. But to compare, the alarm volume for that sound on the Idol 3 was set to 1 tick above silent and was the same volume it seemed as my Nexus 4 on the same sound file at about 70%

Same here. For me especially the alarm volume is way too loud for early mornings where I don't want to wake up everyone in the house.

Same thing
Same thing here. I had before a Galaxy S4 with it was more easy to manage volume for all individuals event (alarm, notification, ring tone, music) now with me idol3 5.5 I only have 1 slider to control all
I have root my phone so if anyone have a solution I will take it.

You could use something like Tasker, Llama, or AutomateIt, among others, to turn the volume off altogether during the hours where it's a problem in your home. For example, you could set it to be silent from 10 pm to 9 am, but at whatever volume you prefer during the rest of the hours. That wouldn't address the issue where you feel like you can't get a low volume that you'd prefer, but it would save you from having to turn the volume all the way down, then back up again every day.
There are some ROMs that have more sophisticated sound mixers than stock Android provides. So maybe something along those lines might work. There's an audio driver/app called Viper that has a topic somewhere on XDA. Whether or not it would work well on this phone, I have no idea.

Yeah same problem guys. I got a solution for you. Edit the ringtones or notifications with sound editing software. You can lower the volume of the ringtone file and that should make it lower sounding.

X10 Ringer volume

So we have root!
Somebody known app or tweak to increase the ringer volume?
Thx
I have no idea!
The volume of the ringer in my X10i is also too bad.
sometime I can't hear what the people said.
I also want to know how to change it.
So no one found a way to increase the ringer volume? I feel sometimes that I am going deaf. I may have to change my ringtone, but this is really annoying missing calls while you are driving.
Ringer as well as incall volume is too low in the X10.

true, but at least I can illuminate the in call volume issue with using bluetooth headset but the ringer...
This is weird that there is no hack for it.
Just use a decent ringtone, I've not found the volume to be a problem.
hey guys
i know theres not a hack for the volume ringer, but what i did was i use a program which can edit music files on my PC, and i just increase the actual volume of the file itself. then i transfer it to my phone and it plays a lot louder on the speaker. hopefully that can work for some of u
the program i use is called 'cool edit pro' however im sure theres a couple of programs which can do the same thing.
the effect is called 'increase amplitude', i usually use a scientific filter to decrease the amount of base in a song (which hte x10's speakerphone distorts anyways) and then increase the amplitude by about 10dB's. makes it a lot louder on the actual phone vs just putting the original mp3 in.

Ringtone is decent, volume sucks.
Thanks for your solution but that wasn't what I was looking for. I want to explode my speaker and I am looking for a hack.
Cheers,
search google for editing audiopara.csv, not sure how to do it myself as I find the volume to be mostly fine, but that is the key to changing it
just lookied at my /system dump, it's actualy audiofilter.csv on x10, and it's in system/etc

[Q] Adjusting Media volume causes Ringer volume to reduce

Hi to All,
Before using my headset to listen to music I set the Ringer volume at maximum.
But the moment I touch the Volume rocker switch to change the media volume (during music play) the Ringer Volume automatically reduces and lowers to match the media volume.
After this has happened if a call comes in the only way I know is that the music mutes but I hear no ring tone. If I am lucky and in a very quiet environment I can just barely hear the ringtone in the background.
Is anyone else having this problem - and even better is there a solution?
I have the same concern, but it seems no one has any good answer.
in my case, I have this problem after I migrated to a ICS ROM. I have this problem both in stock and other custom ROMs.
I used audio concert app while in GB to have different volume profiles for with/without headset connected, and from what I can remember, I could hear the ringtone and notification sounds loud and clear.
On ICS, even if I set ringtone volume at MAX with headset connected, the ringtone is inaudible. The only way to notice an incoming call or sms is by music being muted. For ringtone, it is longer and so more noticeable, but for sms, it often goes unnoticed...

[Q] volume issue dell venue pro

so i have this great phone, i love wp7, it has thing's that i don't like but well nothing is perfect.. but what i really, let's say, hate is when i receive a phone call the volume is really low :S i have the phone wit the volume o maximun (30), the music sounds great, really loud but the phone call and even the alarm sound really really low, how can i fix that?
Phone call volume is controlled separately from everything else. While in a call, hit Volume Up and put it at max (the scale is different: in a call, it goes 1-10 instead of the normal 0-30).
If that's still not loud enough, I'm not sure what to expect. You could try using earbuds or a headset. On my HD7, I have to set call volume down to 5 when using earbuds or it's painfully loud. Bluetooth headsets often have their own volume control too, and can push the call higher if the phone doesn't go high enough.
There are some registry controls that affect volume, but I don't think anybody had managed to get any write access to the DVP registry yet.

thanks for the answer man, but i think i don't explain myself very well xD i'm talking about the ringtone from when you're getting a phone call you know? That's the volumen i'm talking about that it is kinda low, and is the same with the alarms..i hope you can understand me now haha..and i have another question since you answer my previews one you know a way or and app to change the colors of the live tiles? Because the colors that came with the OS are, let's say, short haha
Ah... yeah, I really wish I could set the ringer volume independently of the music-and-so-forth volume. BTW, alarms will always (by design) start at low volume, then get louder over the course of about a minute. I tend to set the base volume high before going to bed anyhow, but I've forgotten to a couple of times and it still wakes me up within a very short time.
Adding custom accent colors is another thing that requires registry access. In theory, there's a registry editor built into the EM app. So far as I know, nobody has gotten it to work, though. It's a real pity, that is; with a built-in regedit, the phone could easily be dev- and interop-unlocked, opening up a lot of homebrew potential.

that's too bad :s well i guess i have to live with that. The same thing happen to me with the alarms haha so i guess i have to live with that too xD
I'm starting to hate wp7 -.- i think an iphone has less limitation than wp . I'm going to use this phone for a while but in the end i'm sure i will get back on android, or maybe i will use both phone, i don't know.
Thank's for the reply that solve my doubt's

Media volume slider

Anyway to adjust media volume and ring tone volume at the same time? Like in most other phones.
Stock android and cm have the option of individually adjusting volume for ringtone, media, notifications. On the z3 it's a pain to adjust the media volume. If i have to watch a video with no volume I have to open apps like YouTube and adjust the volume and then play the video. Its a simple thing to have and yet the z3 doesn't have it. Thats the biggest issue I have with this phone.
If you have tasker, follow this guide:
www.droidforums.net/threads/link-ringer-and-notification-volumes.221354/
Edit, nope that doesn't work, sorry! Although I managed to link ringer and alarm volumes, but for some reason media volume doesn't work
Edit 2, it does seem to sort of work, but it's almost like the media volume works on a different scale to the other volumes. Anyone got any ideas?

Question System Volume

Last few phone had little to no dev support, so I've been away from the root/rom game for awhile. Just picked up a Oneplus 9 and happy to see development going on.
My only complaint so far with this phone is that the system volume is tied to the ringer volume. I want to find a way to silence system sounds completely (things like beep when plugged in, beep with GA, beep with keyboard speech input, etc.). There may be several ways to go, and thought I would ask to see if anyone could put me on the right track (following list are things I've, more or less, done with past phones which had this same "feature")...
ROM suggestions that come with a separated system/ringtone volume?
Xposed mod which decouples or mutes system volume?
App which can mute or decouple system volume?
Root + a list of system sound files that can be zeroed out?
I am open to any suggestions, as long as I can get this fixed.
