Hello,
My Windows 7 PC is not able to detect the drivers for Xperia L. I have already installed the PC Companion and also installed the Flash Tool drivers, ADB Universal Drivers. Still it doesn't detect the device.
ADB Debugging is enabled.
Can you give a download link for the drivers?
Thanks.

Try a different approach. Go into your device manager on your PC. You can go into device manager by going into properties of MY COMPUTER or Control Panel\System and Security\System
When your device is connected, do you see an exclamation mark in devices. Reinstall it by finding drivers manaually.
IF this all fails, just delete the device and refresh it.
Another very useful trick is to delete the unknow device (xperia L) and restart your Xperia L. Then search for device changes. it will be detected automatically.
Is your MTP ticked in Xperia / Connection/ USB connection on your phone ?

Unfortunately, I have done all that. Isn't there a driver setup file for this phone? Can't seem to find it anywhere.
Thanks!
I'm facing the same problem.
I'm tryng to unlock the boot loader following the instructions on Sony website, but when it comes to use fastboot it just keep saying <waiting for device>.
And I have installed all the stuff you said, too.

the whole of this was my phone was softbricked. I wanted to get into recovery so I could use ADB to try to fix it. When it's softbricked, ADB won't start up, therefore I could use ADB.
Trust me, I know how to use ADB, I just wanted to know if there was a key combination to get our phones into recovery mode with ADB because ADB wouldn't work because my phone was softbricked. It had nothing to do with me not knowing how to use ADB or how to set it up, it had to do with my phone would brick it self before ADB started, so therefore I couldn't send any ADB commands.

DRivers for Xperia L
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46681107#post46681107
Problem solved. It was tricky, though.
Having PC companion installed wincrap didn't make me choose other drivers.
So I disabled the signature verification for drivers -> rebooted -> connected Phone while pressing the vol UP -> opened device manager -> select s1boot fastboot (which had a warning icon) -> selected driver manually (the .inf file we replaced following the first steps.
then i just used cmd as in the guide.
et voilà, bootloader unlocked.
I hope this is helpful to those who faced my same problem.
Hello,
My mother just got a Sony Xperia M2, and I wanted to root it for her... Well, I have a Samsung Galaxy S4, and it's way easier to do it !
I followed the tutorial from this website : Developer . sonymobile . com
I downloaded everything (I'm on Windows 8, I also got the extra stuffs to DL), and it was pretty fine until the "connect your device" part !
In the tuto, you should Turn off the phone, connect the USB wire to the computer, and then press Volume UP while you connect the phone in USB...
After that you need to select the drivers from Flashmode, I select the right folder, but it's not working ! It says that I don't have "Android ADB Interface" or thing like that. So, I can't update the drivers, and can't complete the unlocking !
From the official video (that I can't link or past) they gave on the website, my problem starts at 4:20
Do you have an idea please ??
Thanks !
First of all, before trying to flash anything it is better to check if the phone connects fine while running normally. Download PC Companion if you don't have it already (it's a nice app anyway, you may need it), run it, connect the phone via USB and see if it gets recognized. Then you will need to enable the USB Debugging for ADB access:
http://www.phonearena.com/news/How-to-enable-USB-debugging-on-Android_id53909
After that check with Flashtool if it gets recognized with the phone on. Then I'm not sure anymore, but don't you need to hold the volume key(s) BEFORE connecting the phone to the USB to enter flash modes?

Use flashtool from this link :http://www.flashtool.net/index.php
After installing it, install Drivers from <Installed Dir>/flashtool/drivers folder.
If you don't know, select all platforms.
May be you need to disable "driver signature check" for win 8.
Tutorial here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2095087
Try with flashtool, it should work now.

Thank you, the only solution was this thing ! "Disable driver check" was it !
And in order to be clear (maybe for people who will need help too), I deleted/disabled the drivers of the Xperia M2 from the computer. So it was like I plugged the phone for the FIRST time again. The computer wants to install drivers, just Cancel, and right-clic -> Install (or update) drivers, and you're done ! !
MY BOOTLOADER IS FINALLY UNLOCKED ! Thank you really !
Q&A for Xperia C bricked while flashing recovery through mobile uncle
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.

HELP! Xperia C Stuck on Sony Logo
Hello guys, can you help me fix my Sony Xperia C 2305 stuck in Sony Logo.
I'd already tried the Sony Companion but in the middle of installation it stopped.
What should i do?? Please! Thank you!
Sony Xperia C Unbrick
Hi... I came across this problem recently while installing CWM using MobileUncle Tools without changing the Boot-version. If your Boot-version is not supported, then you need to first convert it to the suitable Boot-version. There is a seperate Xperia C XDA thread on install CWM on both the Boot-versions. Now in your case, you have flashed a wrong recovery which has bricked your device.
Here is a step-by-step guide on how to un-brick your Xperia C. This worked for me. Hope it works for you too...
1. Firstly, remove the back-cover of your Xperia C and remove any sim or memory card, if connected.
2. Now, search for a small hole with "RESET" written below it.
3. Use a pen to press it. Hold it there for a minute. Then leave it and put the back cover back.
4. Charge your device for about 10 minutes.
5. If you do not follow the above steps, you won't be able to repair your device through PC Companion.(The update stops showing "Download error or error 1200). This is because your device still has MobileUncle Tools and unsupported Recovery image installed in it which does not allow the stock Recovery to be installed. When you reset by following the above method, only the stock apps are left in the device, deleting every other app.
6. Now download and install the latest Sony PC Companion from the official site, to your PC.
7. Open the PCC and click start in support zone. Let PCC download and install the required files.
8. In the next menu, select the software update option. Instead of clicking on install, select "Repair" device which is highlighted in blue.
9. Follow the steps until PCC starts to prepare your PC for software update.
10. In the device selection menu, select Sony Xperia C C2305 and click next.
11. When the next menu appears, disconnect any USB or multimedia drives attached to the PC. Now, first connect your original Sony USB cabel to the PC. Then, turn off your device(If the device is not turning off i.e. switching on after connecting the USB cable, read the instructions given at the end). Wait for five second. Press and hold volume down button of your device and connect the USB cable to your device. A green led appears on your device if the device is connected properly.
Note: If a continous red led appears instead of green, do not worry. Keep the device connected to PC intact for about 5 to 10 minutes. It will turn green. This is because, bricked devices take some time to be recognised.
12. Now the update process starts. If all the above steps are performed correctly, then surely the Device Software Update process completes without any errors or stopping in between.
13. Then click finish in the last menu after Device Software Update Completes.
14.Disconnect Xperia C from PC and press the Power button.
15. Xperia C boots up. Do not worry if your screen isn't the way it should be(e.g. whitish at the edges and the Sony Wave logo lagging). As this is the first boot-up after software update it takes sometime to recover to it's earlier charm. After about a minute or two, your device will be perfectly all right.
Note: The first boot-up takes some time(about 5 to 7 minutes).
16. So, this is it. You will have your Sony Xperia C perfectly working if you follow the above steps cautiously.
Hint for step no. 11: Follow this only if your device turns on after connecting the USB cable:
1. First, let the USB cable be connected the PC.
2. Force switch off your device by pressing Power + volume up buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds when it is stuck at Sony logo.
3. When the device turns off, immediately leave the two buttons and press and hold volume down button and connect the USB cable to the device, before the device turns on.
4. Now your device would be properly connected and the green led appears.
Hope this helps you. If you have any other queries regarding the same, please do inform.

It's so easy to fix it.
You've entered in something called "bootloop".
Now how we can fix an xperia device from bootloop.
What do we need:
1,A computer with flashtool installed on.
2,A good USB cable (because we don't want the dvice to disconnect in the middle of the flashing process ).
3,download c2305 stock firmware .ftf (stock rom.ftf).(from the link below)
Now follow these steps and they will bring your phone to the safe:
1,turn off your device and keep it off and don't forget to charge it well before this process.
2,Replace the stock firmware.ftf to firmware folder in the flashtool folder in the place you installed in (usually in c:\\flashtool\firmwares)
3,Now open flashtool and click the flash icon then select flashmode then OK.
4,Now select your firmware from the list and if you don't want to lose your data just uncheck the box of wipe data in the top right corner.
5,click on "flash" and wait because it's preparing.
6,Then after this it will show you a window request to press the back bottom (the volume down bottom)
And connect your device, do it and Keep pressing until the window disappear.
7,Now the tool is flashing your phone DON'T touch the cable until it's finished.
8,when it's finished wait for 10 sec and unplug your device.
9,Now wait for about one min if it doesn't turn on automatically turn on it will about 3min to boot wait and don't worry.
Congratulations your phone is well know.
Notes:
1.If the tool doesn't see the connected device, there's a folder named "drivers" open and open the. Exe
And install your device's driver.
2, because I'm new user they don't allow me to give a link so just give me your email and I'll send the link to you.

If it's not detected when Flashtool requests to connect the phone try to connect it before the flashing proccess.
And don't forget to connect it in flashmode by holding the vol- key and connect it to Pc
Phone still not detected in Fastboot mode
I have installed all the drivers and tried. But my phone is not entering Fastboot mode or showing up in device manager. My phone is not turning on after flashing recovery using Mobile Uncle tools. The red light glows when usb plugged in.

Hi,
I have tried booting into flashmode > 20 times now, but can't get it to work.
I am doing the following:
- Disconnect USB-Cable
- Poweroff Phone
- Press Volume Down Button
- Connect USB-Cable
Now the LED blinds red/green very quickly, but then the phone just boots normally, beginning with the white screen with the Sony Logo and the Xperia Logo. If I keep holding the Volume Down Button, it boots into safe mode.
Any ideas what I may be doing wrong going into flashmode? Is there another way to get into flashmode?
The device is encrypted, maybe that has something to do with it?
Is it at all possible that this is because of a missing driver? I did install the flashmode driver using flashtool.
Thanks
Yannik
It does sound like a driver issue.
Make sure you have the Latest version of Flashtool installed, and try the driver installer again.
On your phone, in Developer options (enabled in the Settings main menu by going to Settings > About phone > and tapping Build number 7 times) , make sure you have USB debugging turned on, and I also allow mock locations. You must have Unknown Sources ticked in Security settings too.
I have successfully flashed mine this way.
Before you start Flashtool, turn the phone off, hold volume down, and plug in the USB lead to your computer. The LED on the phone should turn a solid green. The computer should sort out the drivers itself.
If you're above Windows 7 then there are other things you have to do to get the drivers to install properly, or so I've heard, but I don't know for sure as I refuse to leave 7 behind. I hate the tiles in Windows 8, and I guess in 10 too.
Once that's done, you're good to go with Flashtool.
Guessing the encryption has something to do with it.
It actually seems to have been some kind of driver issue.
The flashtool drivers are installed (activated the non-signed driver installation), as well as the sony pc companion software. Unfortunately, I could not resolve this issue and get flashmode to work on Windows 8.1 x64.
However, flashmode did work (without any driver installation!) on a Linux Mint system.

Have you booted Windows in “Disable driver signature enforcement” mode?
From: http://www.xperiablog.net/2015/03/1...peria-lollipop-using-xperifirm-and-flashtool/
Note: To install the Flashtool drivers for Windows 8/Windows 8.1, please follow the steps below.
1) Press the Windows key + R and in the run box type: shutdown.exe /r /o /f /t 00
– Now make the following selections to boot into the Start Up Setting Screen: Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Start Up Settings > Restart
– Then, when the machine restarts, select number 7 i.e. “Disable driver signature enforcement”. Your machine will start with Driver signing enforcement disabled until the next reboot.
2) Now you can install the Flashtool drivers.
– Windows will warn that the driver is not signed and will require you to confirm the installation.
– Once the installation is complete, reboot the machine

Haha I forgot that you need USB debugging and unknown source on, when I did flash with flashtool it stops half way saying USB debugging and unknown source to be turn on, kinda soft bricked my phone had to repair with pc companion oooops
mine just turns green for a fraction of a second and then boots, while flashtool tells me i should be in usb debugging mode, even thought it is set as such from the dev options.
Any suggestions? I keep the vol down button pressed until about 1 second after plugging the cable. i tried even for a longer period, the led turns green for half a second and then nothing.

Driver
In my case, it doesn't show up the driver for Xperia Z5, just until the Z3, not even for Z3+, and I dont know where to find the correct driver for Z5, and I have downloaded the lastest version of Flashtool.
Does anyone know what can I do?
I've got the same problem as yours. I wanted to debrand my xperia z5, I created the ftf file to flash with flashtool but I can't get the flash mode... going in the flashtool download page I've noticed that it says: 0.9.19.0 was valid for ZL,Z1,Z2,Z3,Z3c,Z3+/Z4,Z4Tablet,E4,E4G,M2,M4 because of new FSC feature added --> our device doesn't appear in the list so I think we have to wait for a little. It's my opinion...sorry for my bad english, I'll stay tuned for further information
Flashtool latest version is 0.9.19.10 and does support Z5 once you patch x10flasher.jar:
http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php
To apply the 0.9.19.10 patch, you must be on 0.9.19.2, 0.9.19.3, 0.9.19.4, 0.9.19.5, 0.9.19.6, 0.9.19.7, 0.9.19.8 or 0.9.19.9 and replace x10flasher.jar with the one from the patch.

Install Sony PC Companion and connect your Z5. Normally drivers should be installed now. There not included in Flashtool yet.
anyway I wanted to flash a stock firmware (since I'm branded). I've downloaded the firmware, created the ftf file with flashtool, downloaded the drivers ( with pc companion and also with the .exe inside the flashtool directory) but wen it asks for holding the volume down and plug the device it boots (as the problem the others has). Any Ideas? I've tried to hold the volume up and then plug the phone but it doesn't work, flashtool don't start the process
try flashing on a linux system.
I'll try (I have to find a pc running linux first) but I think that should be a problem of the device, I maen the buttons combinations seems inappropriated on this terminal since it restarts...It's my honest opinion (and I seize the moment to remember you of my bad english)
I had the same problem, for me trying it from linux (you can dual boot) fixed the problem. Must have been a problem with my windows installation.
Do you suggest to full wipe or not?
I didn't perform a full wipe and didn't have any problems.
So, i havent been modding Android phones in a long time and when I wanted to flash MM on my Z5, i forgot that i dont have the Z5 drivers. Now, based on what i know, i did have SONY PC COMPANION installed prior to soft bricking my device, so i would assume the drivers are installed. My current situation is as follows:
-Device wont turn on, switches between RED/GREEN led with error message of "update failed, please connect to PC etc..."
-Sony pc companion doesnt seem to recognize the phone as i cant repair it
-Cannot flash FTF through as it keeps failing to flash at different points, do not know if not having the Z5 drivers play a factor here. I got the drivers from there but i do not know what to do with it as it is not .exe file, i also have the latest flashtool installed.
-I backed up my files prior to this, so i am willing to wipe everything.
Thank you, i would appreciate if i can get some assistant on this. Stupid me for making this mistake in the first place.
Regards,
Litoni
Use PC Companion repair option (marked with a red box on my screenshot).

-Sony pc companion doesnt seem to recognize the phone as i cant repair it

of

and (re-)boot into (newer) Windows by disabling the driver signature verification.
Log in with administrator rights,
Extract the zip-file,
there you have inf files
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/INF_file
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff549520(v=vs.85).aspx
right-click on those and choose install - so that the device drivers are installed.
Reboot (of Windows) shouldn't be necessary.
Entering Fastboot mode should still be possible, check whether it's being recognized now (via Minimal ADB and Fastboot).
Remember: in case the device goes crazy because it's not being detected upon connection - you can still turn it off via
Emergency off
(listed under "#FASTBOOT / FLASHMODE / RECOVERY / etc.")
Install the drivers that are inside flashtool.

As mentioned, SPCC doesn't recognize my phone. It somewhat does but doesn't give me the option to repair. There are these other screens which i think are prior to the repair page (hopefully) but i was stuck at the page when it asks me to remove the battery or skip if built in. It asks me to press ok to skip but hitting the ok button didn't do anything.

The drivers from flashtool does not include any xperia Z5 series.
Thank you guys for the quick responses, I managed to reflash the .200 through flashtool without any hiccups. which is weird that it didn't work for .163 earlier. I didn't wipe anything, so after flashing .200 i updated the SDK stuff from Google SDK.exe which i think it solved some, from there I flashed .163 (MM) again and it worked. Kept all data intact, even my encrypted Class 10 SD card worked without any issues. So far so good, haven't really encountered any errors, fingers crossed :fingers-crossed: once again thank you for the quick responses.
