EFIDroid port to Moto G 2013 XT1032 (WinRT / WInMobile)

Sorry guys, I've underestimated this hugely, just spoken to the EFIDroid team on Slack and this is never going to boot Windows without MS' help as, like the Pi 2's CPU, the MSM8226 CPU in the Moto G, like all Qualcomm CPUs, requires a HAL extension and custom drivers which are basically impossible to write without MS' source. So yeah, enjoy EFIDroid, it doesn't support Android booting yet, but hey, proof of concept of EFI on a phone! I'm leaving this thread alone now as I really am not the best person to ask, but if you have a question their Slack is great!

EDIT: I know this has been ported to falcon already, but this image is up-to-date as of 17/04/16
Update: I compiled the app and whilst falcon is supported by EFIDroid, the app has not been updated for this. I'm therefore going to create a forked version of the app using my forked GitHub repo instead which adds back that support... hopefully the efidroid devs will add back in falcon to /ota soon

RIP my laptop's keyboard :crying:
Compiled for the Moto G 2013, based on 4.4.4 boot.img, had to disable CIL in SELinux as there were errors compiling it. Also had to remove metadata info due to python incompatibilities
LCD works OOTB, volume key selection
DO NOT FLASH, ONLY BOOT USING FASTBOOT BOOT [NAME].IMG - THIS CANNOT BOOT ANDROID YET!

Here's some instructions for people who wants to try it out..
Boot into fastboot mode
Type in fastboot boot imagefile.img
And you are done.
The touchscreen didn't seam to work. Also @androidonlinx, Good luck trying to boot windows RT or windows mobile because it's closed source.. That means you can't make your own version of it...

I've built the installer APK which is just compiling now, I can upload soon.
RT should work - obviously without drivers of course

Couple of updates.... the install kinda works and does manage to install it but it's not booting up at the moment
Stuck on decompression, this could be down to lack of battery so I'm going to give it a good charge and see what happens from there. Both TWRP and Android show up in the menu, though.

That's good on the installer side.. But regarding Windows RT. To quote "RT cannot "run on any ARM-Based device" for one simple reason. Just use a little script. the boot partition is at /dev/mmcblk0p31 so you just dd the image over to it... For example
dd if=/sdcard/image.img of=/dev/mmcblk0p31
Or you could just use fastboot..
fastboot flash boot boot.img
There is really no need for an app...

Yeah, I had the idea that the app would allow me to boot Android but actually DDing the image results in inability to boot Android whatsoever, even after the original image is restored
I'm going to flash back to stock seeing as this isn't working, but I'll try again using fastboot boot instead

We could try Windows 10 Mobile take some image from a phone that has MSM 8226.

Just an idea. But couldn't you use a script to backup the original boot partition then replace it with your img. So when you press the android button it just loads that image file you backed up.. or you could just do some type of hybrid boot thingy that multirom does

The problem is there's no way to select an image as USB devices are not detected. This means that we have to install it to an internal partition first. I'm going to try get the Windows kernel to at least give output by putting boot.wim from the Surface RT recovery image on an internal NTFS partition, though I doubt this will work

I have very little Android experience and I've only got this to work by hacking various strings in the installer app and following a build tutorial. Whilst I could probably do the script on the Android side, I couldn't on the EFIDroid side.
I'm going to leave this as a PC-tethered boot then.

You need to flash it on a FAT32 partition because UEFI supports booting from FAT32 only.

Back to stock now, just required reflash back to stock boot.img in TWRP. Going to put Win10 boot files on the /sdcard which should hopefully show up... hopefully

The difficulty in that is finding a way to boot it - USB devices aren't supported and it won't accept a keyboard to interact with the EFI shell.
Unless someone has a Moto G to sacrifice Android off to just simply restore that image and fastboot EFIDroid to boot from it I don't think there's a way we can boot it

Might as well post the app I compiled - warning, potentially very dangerous, hugely hacky code, although it does install and boot it fails to load Android

EFIDroid cannot boot android yet so I'm not providing the link anymore, if you want the app go compile it yourself!

Raping the project? I just provided a prebuild binary as I thought it might be useful, porting it myself as I didn't see your port until afterwards.
If you want me to remove this or something then fine, but I just tried to make a helpful post.
Do you by any chance have any idea where I'm going wrong? I simply followed the porting to a new device tutorial - are those extra variables in your link necessary? Do you have a prebuild image in that case you could share?

In order to install it you must be on 3.09. install via original recovery... which is here...

1) enter settings, about phone, scroll down to build, press until you are a developer, get out of about phone.
2) enter developer menu, allow oem unlock, shutdown phone, keep unconnected to computer/power.
3) install abd tools.
4) press the volume down, and then while being pressed press the power button. release when you see the "android" menu
5) magic time. connect cable to computer, type

fastboot reboot
6) phones reboot. quickly press the power up + power key before the phone reboots. if it rebooted, just keep on pressing them until it reboots again and release when you see the android screen. welcome to recovery.

you missed an important step... unlocking it.
boot into bootloader (lower volume + power key)
connect to computer
If I remember correctly type:

and after your data will be deleted, you can now flash your recovery with TWRP.

Oh, forgot to mention - why do you still get a message that update 3.0.10 is available:
Your phone is still contacting to silent circle servers and it tries to brick you. soon to be explained how to stop it

I have the same phone and the ID version firmware contains this scatter file which sp flash tools cannot read and even the system.img and userdata.img are not present in the stock firmware.. there is system.new.dat file

I've tried this version of TWRP on my X008DC (US ZenFone 3 Max ZC520TL) but the phone won't take it. When attempting to go into recovery the phone just reboots itself back into Android.
I downloaded the WW version for Nougat 7.

i have the scatter file and recovery image and as well as the preloader for Asus X008DA Nougat ID version with 3/32 config.. as i am new on xda i am not allowed to post links.. how can i upload it so that you can port a twrp recovery for this phone ??

i have the scatter file and recovery image and as well as the preloader for Asus X008DA Nougat ID version with 3/32 config.. as i am new on xda i am not allowed to post links.. how can i upload it so that you can port a twrp recovery for this phone ??

TWRP 3.1.1 for Nikel + Device tree to compile it

Hello everyone!
Today I am bringing to you the latest version of TWRP and a device tree to compile it, making it much easier to update to a new version whenever it is released by TeamWin.
You can install it via an older version of TWRP by installing the image to the recovery partition as in the latest versions of TWRP it is possible to install .img. You can also use the old method, flashing the image using a computer with the command (having the phone in fastboot mode):

Failed to mount '/data' (Invalid argument)
Unable to recreate /data/media folder.
error right after booting making it unable to flash anything.
Also, it shows my RN4 as Redmi Pro in MTP

Can you try the TWRP by cofface and tell me if you have the same problem with data partition?
Also about the RM Pro name in MTP I will fix it soon. I have ported the device tree from the one I did for Redmi Pro and I forgot to change that

It works well with Cofface's recovery, I'm using it for over six months and never had any problem with it (except from early builds not supporting my touchscreen, as apparently there are two different ones used in MTK RN4)

Mine touchscreen not working

This version of twrp is equivalent as the version(I mean same bugs) I had ported from official twrp for rn3 (mtk) by following instructions when I had my mtk version.. It would be better if you switch to the sd version but the problem is that the X20 Cpu was better than the SD625 one.

- Replace the existing files withe file in patch foder:
httpcomponent.dll C:\Program Files (x86)\HiSuite
HiSuiteConfig.xml C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\HiSuite\userdata\UpdateDogDev (XXX is your name in your computer)
2. Prepare flash:
- Use winrar the decoding zip to update.app and other files or folders (Etc XYZ).
- Move folder XYZ above to the following folder: C:\Users\XXX\Documents\HiSuite\ROM (XXX is your name in your computer)
3. Flash rom:
- Disable Hisuite check update via internet by Edit the hosts C:/Windows/System32/Drivers/Hosts (Add 127.0.0.1 query.hicloud.com)
- Open Hisuite -> Click on Recovery -> Click continue
- Turn phone off. Connect phone to pc an keep pressing volume down and power until fastboot mode.
- Enable internet via Hosts file by Edit the hosts C:/Windows/System32/Drivers/Hosts (Edit 127.0.0.1 query.hicloud.com to #127.0.0.1 query.hicloud.com)
- Now Click Recover
- Wait until Hisuite Download and decompile from 85% to 95% then you quickly replace all your files in folder XYZ above (in C:\Users\XXX\Documents\HiSuite\ROM\XYZ)
- Hisuite will update your firmware, wait until finished and enjoy

This is FullOTA-MF rom, you can using tool to extract ramdisk .img file

I am stuck at the uncompressing step. When it reach 90% it gives me error code 7

I see FunkyHuawei don't download anything at Appdata/Local/FunkyHuawei/hisuitefiles.zip
So I guess that's the problem.
Any ideas?

Flashed 123 success got weird issue if i boot magisk root my cobtact and dialer dont open but if i dont boot magisk root its all fine ...can anyone help me with this issue.. Thanks

I've read doing a factory reset fixed this issue on previous updates, give that a try.
