I have a batch of image files and am trying to find a fluent way to move them across apps in Android.
1.Multiple selection in android file explorers such as Astro, ES File explorer apps does exist and is still new to me. I am able to select one by one(would prefer to filter the directory first date , time, name) or in some cases "select all" (118 items for example) of image files in a directory. Now I would like to simply import all of these images in one go to other apps.
Easy share action seems different depending on the apps I use.
Some apps disappear from the sharing option when I multi select .
My question is how to get around this single file share action?
It occurs to me that a simple reiteration through the multiple selection in the file explorer app would appear as a single file to the app I am sharing the selection with...
Heavy searched play store online etc for a solution ...nothing as of yet.
Any file explorers in android capable of doing this?? How about custom easy share action app( lollipop able)??
Shame some developers are not exposing the easy share multi file capabilities to the end user interface .
My end goal is to find an app to easily populate A4(or other sizes) pages ready for printing. File images are cut and with irregular shapes. Ideally the app would figure out how to place the images to minimize gaps and waste no paper(minimal waste that is).
At the moment I know of an app called PicCollage. It fits the bill in many places but fails due to all 118 images being dumped on a single page. Any other well known possibilities?? I wish an app with endless canvas existed . I would just dump all images first...move them about and print the whole thing tiled on A4 pages...
Hi there
Please note the following sticky from the top of the Assist section and note that here on assist we are help new users to navigate thru the site.

As a old member of XDA forum, I am quite confident that you know where your device section is (you already asked something there) and where to ask for help because this is 4 thread opened here.
Thanks for understanding
Good luck

Hi,
Does anyone know how to create a TV Guide app and give me some help/"how to" guide?
Thanks!
Look at xmltv for a standard option. Trywiki.xmltv.org/index.php/Main_Page for info.
Sorry, rated as new user and can't hotlink
Me again. . I've just done a little research and can only find one app that implements the xmltv standard (tvonhand). This app doesnt allow the loading of a personalised menu and is only for Vietnam at present. An idea would be to allow the user to point to a (number of) website(s) to get the schedules they need. There are already many providers on the xml files necessary.
Hey guys,
I'm really new to this app development and would like to ask one of you experienced developers a question.
Basically I have recently been creating mobile websites from a set of css files which are just a basic template. The template files have individual files for some of the most common pages that a small business would need, google map, contact us with form, menu, opening hours and so on.
What happens is you simply upload the company logo and such into the images folder, update the css style sheet for colours, then simply edit one of the relevant pages e.g place the food items in the menu page.
When the whole set of files gets uploaded it creates a personalised functional business mobile website.
What I would like to know is, would it be possible to set something like this up for an android app? Whereby the user could simply change the details as above and then compile the apk file which will create the app?
Your input is much appreciated, also have any of you got any idea where I could get someone to code something like this?
Regards,
Stephen
Hello all, long time lurker here.
I was wondering if there is any mod or app out there that lets me completely customize the Share Via menu. It's a totally handy feature other than the fact that a lot of the apps I want to use don't show up in that menu.
I've researched it and I've come to find out that; which apps show up in the share via menu are hard coded into each individual app, and in order for them to show up you would need to contact the developer to get him/her to add that feature.
Now, I'm wondering has anyone done anything to address this issue? I'm no programmer or anything, but I imagine it wouldn't be that difficult to be able to modify that menu extensively. There's and app out there call AndMade Share( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andmadesoft.share ) that allows you to be able to edit the menu somewhat, but it doesn't allow you to add apps. I'm thinking one could possibly just completely edit the share via file, and allow a user to be able to decide which apps open in the 'Share Via' menu according to file extension.
For example, if I wanted to Share a .jpg, I could customize the Share Via menu to include, Instagram, Gallery, Picshop, Photoshop Express, Photogrid, etc. Or if I wanted to open a .MP4 I could customize the share menu to include, Video Manager, Video Trimmer, Video Player, Rock Player, etc.
I feel as though I've over explained this, but whatever. Is there anything out there like this that exsists or am I just stuck hoping and wishing?

Ever since I began adapting myself to the "Android ways" on a Samsung 10.1 2014 tablet, I've been striving to do whatever it takes for a snappy print functionality as well.
One particular problem is on printing custom stickers/labels without being wasteful on paper.....
Basically I "Google image" search some terms, save 10s of images etc and want that printed as a sticker on my home printer.
All is well but in fact most of the images are small enough to fit a good number of them on a single A4 page.
What I am looking for is an app that I can do multiple image selection on and have those images spread on the A4 ready for rescaling and eventually printing.
Best of all if I can get the images to dynamically reallocate themselves based on me rescalling them inside the A4 page preview e
If the description in any way resembles an app you know of or you know a semiautomatic method I could use to produce the above outcomes please share!
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. Please note that XDA Assist isn't a general helpdesk area, or purpose is to point people who don't know where to post in the right direction. You should be able top find such an app on the Play Store, or you could even check XDA's own apps section here:

Good luck with your search!

My problem is that I have no way of pasting text in this specific app which I use constantly because it won't allow you to tap & hold to paste and the keyboard I use doesn't allow for an easy, consistent, error free way of pasting (e.g: a simple clipboard button...).
My question: Is there a way to extend the length of the entry for a personal dictionary shortcut on Android 4.4. I am using a custom ROM (CM11) and am therefor on Android 4.4 with a Samsung Galaxy S4 when I could be at the most recent update. There are so many apps that boast about power to the user over literally every aspect of your device and that boast about being able to DO and SCRIPT literally ANYTHING so long as you have a rooted device, which I do have, but none that I have tried can fix my simple issue.
If there is no way I can modify the allowed text length for a personal dictionary shortcut, is there any way I could add a simple clipboard button to my current keyboard (Google Keyboard) or relatively easily create my own keyboard with similar aesthetics to the one I currently use and similar functionality while adding a simple clipboard button?
Can I create a script on my phone (rooted) that works like the personal dictionary shortcut of Android 4.4 in the sense that typing a shortcut (brb) will produce a chunk of text (longer than be right back) but that has more flexibility (is not limited to a mere ~50 characters)?
Is there any answer that would maybe possible be sufficient for anything along these lines of the questions above?
Also, this isn't very important, by why in the world does Google think that a simple, minimalistic, clipboard button is too much to add to their keyboard. Some dev made a blanket statement that whenever and wherever you want to paste text, you can always use the simple tap & hold feature. However, there are SEVERAL instances where this is NOT the case, one of which being my situation.
Finally, I realize this is XDA assist and I'm probably not posting this where I can get a sufficient answer but I have no idea where to post this on this forum. I don't want to post it in four different places because that tends to be frowned upon...

Hello, and thank you for using XDA Assist!
Yeah, it's rather a missed opportunity not to have clipboard functioned built into the AOSP keyboard, or even Google Keyboard. Although, there are keyboards out there that do. TouchPal comes to mind (as my phone is currently using it), and the Hackers Keyboard has a CTRL key, which leads me to believe that CTRL + V will work (but my tablet is upstairs at the moment).
If alternative keyboards are not your thing, the first place to ask for options would be with your device experts (in spite of the custom ROM). So I will leave this thread here:

Hope this helps, and good luck!
