[Q] 6 Digit PIN issue in MIU6 - Xiaomi Mi 4i

Hi,
I have noticed that we can't use 6 digit for EMAIL security. The screen doesn't allow to enter 6 digits. It limits it to 4 digits. Are there any work arounds for this? This issue continues in the latest update also in MIUI 6.5.5

[Q] Google Now call command not working

I've noticed that on CM12, CM12.1 and OxygenOS that the call command ("call *******") for Google Now does not place a call, it simply enters the number into the dialler and leaves it at that. Does anyone else have the same problem? I'm trying to find out what is causing it but I haven't been able to so far. I have a Nexus 4 and a Nexus 5 that work flawlessly but it won't work on my OPO.

FRD-L19 Android 5.1

Hello All,
I have received from Huawei model Honor 8 in gold. What is concerning me is that he has EMUI 3.1 , Andoid 5. Update app showing that there is no update for me. Support center is sending me to stationary service center but I don't have any invoice because it is a gift.
I have 2 problems to solve and that is why I am asking You to help.
1. How to make an update if in setting my phone number is VAT-L19 (compile VAT-L19C900B019-log) but it's logging to operator as FRD-L19. Where can I find clean and full firmware for it with Android 6? I don't need to have two sim cards.
2. Default stock app for SMS (com.android.mms) is consuming huge amount of data transfer. Even if I am using Textra as default it still using mobile internet data (around 10-20MB per day) and not from WiFi but from mobile during Wifi connection. Maybe this thing has to do something in common with number 1.
Please help me with this.
Thx
Lucas
20mb a day isnt a lot on mobile... but you can turn off mms autofetch and that should stop the data
Did you look at this thread? I'm totally new to Honor 8 (Nexus person all the way), but as I'm learning, I came across the thread I linked.

Delay when receiving SMS on Mi 5s Plus running LineageOS 14.1

First of all, I don't know if this is the right place to post this, so do tell me if it's not.
I switched phones recently from an LG G3 to this one and so I had to ask my provider for a smaller SIM card in order to fit the phone's slot.
After switching phones and using the new card, I noticed that the messages people sent me had a considerable delay in being received, be it 10 minutes, some hours or sometimes even a full day (according to the details displayed by my messaging app)
I tested my SIM card on my old phone to see if the problem was fixed or not and I didn't notice any delay there, so I assumed it was the new phone and flashed LineageOS 14.1 to see if it would fix the problem. I didn't get any delay during the first day.
Today, however, a message got delayed by 10 minutes and so I have no idea if the problem was fixed or not.
Could anyone please help me understand what the issue might be and how to fix it?
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I think I fixed it, if anyone's having the same problem.
Disable VoLTE and change the system select in the SIM options to Home only, that's what did it for me.
Please close this thread.
I didn't have the same issue
Maybe in Miui you have misconfigured the option security-permissions-sms-contacts ....
Solution to delayed messages with Miui 10 os.
I see some of you are having problems with delayed sms. What I will recommend to do is not a ?% fix, yet it has worked for me as a user of Miui 10.
1. Go to settings and select system apps under app settings.
2. Select messaging and scroll down to additional settings. You will see 'Short Message Service Center' select it.
3. The number provided in this field is actually your network provider service center number, which is what we will now replace. You put in your area code first with your cell number replacing the default 'service center number' founded. Problem solved.
This was my fix, having to deal with two step verifications being delayed, on my xiaomi redmi plus 5 which was annoying.

Question Fingerprint enrollment failed after display replacement

Please help, this is driving me nuts. here's briefly what's going on:
- Bought a Rog Pone 5s with a broken display. Found a 6 months old dead Rog Phone 5 - motherboard died of overheating. Quick disassembly-assembly and had a nice working phone.. but...
- I'm facing an issue with the fingerprint - Fingerprint enrollment failed immidiately after i try to register one. This is happening on Android 11. On Android 12 the fingerprint registration process starts, but the phone deasn't register my fingerprint no matter how i try.
- i found the calibration procedure video here on XDA, ordered the tool (still haven't received it) and downloaded the app. The app installs under both Android 11 and 12, and i tried to two pieces of paper - at least to try to get the fingerprint working until i get my tool. But nothing happens, calibation procedure passes and fingerprint is still not registered at all - the phone doesn't even try to read it.
- i double-checked all connections and flex cables inside the phone - all seems fine. I also tried some apps which are supposed to test the fingerprint - one of them directly shuts down with an error, anotherone reports fingerprint sensor is in use. Built-in test accessible through .12345+= says test is passed.
- do i need to be on a specific firmware to be able to correctly calibrate the sensor? if yes how can i downgrade to this firmware from the latest Android 11? i'm able to successfully downgrade fom 12 to 11 using Asus's "special" firmware for downgrade, but i don't know how to downgrade to an earlier Android 11.
- i saw that other phone brands/models are having similar issues with fingerprint sensor. are there any general instrustions on how to fix this? is calibration the only method?

iOS Hotspot issue

Hi folks,
I'm having one strange issue with I'm struggling a long time without any luck so far..
The problem seems to be in communication between my iPhone 11 and Redmi Note 3 Special Edition (RN3SE).
If I create hotspot on iPhone 11 my RN3SE refuses to connect but once I try it on different iPhone (iPhone 7 in my case) it works flawlessly.
I found out that both iPhone uses WiFi gen4 but I'm not sure if this is relevant information for you..
Other devices can access to iPhone 11's hotspot.
What I've done so far?
- complete wipe of network settings at both RN3SE as well as on iPhone 11
- complete wipe of whole settings at both phones
- flashing different ROM at Android (switched from Android 8 to Android 9)
Currently I run out of my ideas and thus I'm asking you for help.
Thanks in advance to everyone!
Update: same issue on Android 10 (Ressurection Remix 8.7.0) with my RN3SE ..
FW is version 10.2.1 from MIUI
Maybe some proper adb commands may help?
One interesting finding - RN3SE refuses to connect not only to my iPhone 11's hotspots but also to my friend's iPhone 13 with maximum compatibility ON.
When he tried to turn off maximum compatibility of hotspot it was not even shown in available WiFi list at RN3SE..
