[Q] Old CWM recovery doesn't support sd card and cant flash anything - General Questions and Answers

I had a asus tf101 tablet lying around and thought a new rom would be nice .i flashed a rom (katkiss) with making a backup and it just bootloops. i have and older CWM recovery which does not support sd card so i cant flash anything off of that. ive tried formatting it to fat32, still no luck.i cant connect the tablet to my any of my pc's because the only usb cable i have is bad ( it only charges the tablet) .so my question is, how can i get a rom (any rom for the tf101) on to the tablet? only my recovery works. i have a twrp image on the tablet's storage and i've tried flashing the zip inside CWM but when the tablet reboots its back to CWM.

Help please

Hi i have my asus transformer and i flashed twrp 2.2.1 touch for it. I was having trouble clearing data and formatting it. I had a rom Revolution hd on the internal sd. so i flashed clockwork mod latest and rebooted to recovery. i cleared data skipping /data/media for the internal sd card. then when i went to try to flash revolution hd it appeared as if the internal sd was wiped. i checked everything and it appears as twrp did clear data but still just kept saying fail. mow im stuck with clockwork which only reads internal sd and no boot cuz it got formatted by twrp too. i have tried adb and nv flash etc but cant get any working. my computer doesnt recognize my transformer for nothing. im on WINDOWS 7 ultimate 64 bit. i have tried mostly every possible fix but doesnt work. i have also tried download mode but no luck. IM THINKING LINUX MAY BE THE WAY TO GO??? ANY SUGGESTIONS???
Had you taken backup of current ROM ? Do you have external SD card ? In my case, all the backup from CWM recovery is kept in external SD card only. Otherwise, you can try to MOUNT the SD card from recovery, I think it is in advanced option. If you are able to MOUNT, then you can copy the ROM and flash it again.
If you can get APX mode working (holding vol up,down and power at same time at boot) and your computer recognizes it, give whitekidneys EasyFlasher a go (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1688012) to get TWRP back on, then restore back ups etc as gurung_vishwas1 said they are located on the external sd card. try updating TWRP to the latest version also

im on ClockworkMod Recovery v5.5.0.4 roach-tf101-r2 i dont see an option to mount the sd card. Yes i had a backup too but it got wiped off when twrp wiped data but kept saying fail. I think it was just a bad flash of twrp.

Thing of Doom will be able to help you much better then i can. The only thing i can think of is to install asus sync, which i belive comes with all the required drivers. Or you could try the universal naked driver (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1514942) but i havn't used it so i dont know if it will work for your situatio.

[Q] Help. Asus tf300t rck problems

i started out bu using this site for my info to flash cwm to my tablet. after my research i was able to get it on and open it. however i could not mount my internal sd or extrenal sd for the life of me. i tried with usb debug on and with it off. nothing. i then read that twrp had a working recovery image for the tf300 so i tried that as well. i flashed it over but now my tablet will not boot into the custom recovery, it just freezes. i couldnt care which recovery i use i just want to be able to root my tablet and have a recovery for it. neither of which i have despite my work. i understand how to get root but i can not get my custom image to work.
extra details. the image is for jelly bean 4.2 and the asus tf300. i also flashed twrp straight over cmd.
thanks in advance
Hi did you fix this problem? I have same problem now

Cant flash recovery

I Downloaded the CWM ROM Manager from the play store and it updated me from Rouge Recovery to CWM 6.... something. Problem is that this new version of CWM will not mount my SD card, so I cant flash anything, including a new Recovery. I tried using Rouge Recoveryys nvflash method to flash a new recovery from my pc but it didnt work( here are the instructions i followed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1123429). I installed the drivers for my TF101 without issue, but when I run the .bat file it just dissconnects the device and does nothing. Any help would be great, i just want to find another way to replace my recovery.
EDIT: Problem Solved http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1346180 instant recovery flash, threw me back to CWM 3. something but it mounted my sd card and BOOM good to go.

[Q] TF101 Mounting with TWRP

Well here's the long problem, deleted photos that I need to recover from my ASUS TF101, but then realized that since its connected via a PTP port, I can't use it as UMS and therefore can't use my recovery programs. So, then I searched around forums, rooted my tablet, and then installed TWRP and clockworkmod, and then in the TWRP recovery window, it says I can't mount the SD card, and now I'm completely stuck, help please?
TWRP and CWM ?
They are both recoveries, so the last one you flashed is the only one you have installed
TWRP is the one you should use

Can't install ROM from recovery mode

Hi. I have a shield tablet with Blisspop a friend gave me. Since for some reason the os was quite broken I'm trying to reinstall it via recovery mode and microSD. I already swiped and tried with two different rom (blisspop and cyanogen), formatting the SD exFAT/NTSC, but I can't read the zip file when in recovery mode (storage/sdcard1). It says there are no files and I got an error if I try to mount it. What am I doing wrong?
