On Rooted Note 3, use and ROOT Explorer:
-open System;
-open USR;
-open Keylayout;
-Copy Generic.kl, while copied Rename Generic.kl > Generic.kl.old then Paste Generic.kl in same folder
-Open Generic.kl.old as a text file using text editing app that usually comes with ROOT Explorer, and swap key 158 with key 139( on key 139 delete MENU and write BACK, and on key 158 delete BACK and write MENU in it's place)
-Save and reboot.
Now your Back button should be on the left and your menu button should be on the right. ENJOY.

i want to put a link in the programs tab (sense 2.1 or 2.5) to a excel file located in my micro sd. is there a way to do this?
Make a shortcut in the "\Windows\Startup" folder, pointing the excel file.
There's 2 ways to do this :
A. With built-in File Explorer
1. Open the File Explorer and open the folder that contains the excel file
2. Tap & Hold the excel file
3. Copy
4. Go to My Device (from the top-left drop-down list)
5. Open the "Windows" folder
6. Open the "Start Menu" folder
6a. Open the "Programs" folder (not necessary)
7. Tap "Menu" (right soft key)
8. Tap "Edit"
9. Tap "Paste Shortcut"
10. Now, add the links in the programs tab, the shortcut/file should be there
B. With Resco Explorer
1. Open the Resco Explorer and open the folder that contains the excel file
2. Tap & Hold the excel file
3. Tap "Send To..."
4. Tap "Start Menu as Shortcut"
5. Now, add the links in the programs tab, the shortcut/file should be there

This Tutorial is only for rearranging back and menu softkeys . If you want some other arrangement comment below and I will tell you what to do in that.

Step 1 :- Open Es file Explorer and swipe from extream left towards right.
Step 2 :- Swipe up and locate "Root Explorer" and tap on it.

If you got bored with stock icons on navigation bar then follow these steps
Step 1 :- Open app named Softkeyz ( downloaded above) and grant Superuser permission.
Step 2 :- Swipe from Right to Left.
Step 3 :- Now swipe up and choose icons which you like.
Step 3:- Now tap on download icon ( icon with a Line and an Arrow ) . Now wait for few moments.
Step 4 :- Now touch on Check mark ( Tick mark) and select "1 X 1" ( means changing the Scaling Factor ) and wait till device restarts.
If you want to disable capacitive ( Back and Menu ) softkeys then follow these steps
Step 1 :- Open Es file Explorer and goto device/system/usr/Keylayout and open file named "Generic.kl" as "Text" with "Es note editor".
Step 2 :- Now locate "Key 158" ( for back key ) and "Key 139" ( for menu ) and tap on three dots at right top of display and then "Edit".
Step 3 :- Now place a "#" before each line ( shown below )

Disable Capacitive buttons Light
Step 1 :- Goto "Settings.
Step 2 :- Locate "Buttons"
Step 3 :- Tap on "Backlight"
Step 4 :- Remove that Tick mark before "illuminate buttons" and hit "OK".
Warning!!!
Do not Disable Capacitive button until you enable navigation bar.

You can do that directly in cm's button settings.

Let's begin!
Requirements:
Rooted device
Root Explorer or equivalent (Make sure you give it proper root permissions)
Instructions:
Step 1: Open the file explorer app
Step 2: Go to /system/build.prop
Step 3: Once you're in the build.prop file, scroll all the way to the bottom and add this line after the last row: qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
Step 4: Click on save and now reboot your phone.
Note: You should now see three buttons on the bottom of the screen: home, menu, and back.
To disable the capacitive keys:
Step 1: Go to system/usr/keylayout and open generic.kl
Step 2: Scroll down to key 139 MENU and comment #key 139 MENU
Step 3: Scroll down to key 158 BACK and comment #key 158 BACK
Step 4: Scroll down to key 254 APP_SWITCH and comment #key 254 APP_SWITCH
To disable the physical home button:
Step 1: Go to system/usr/keylayout
Step 2: Scroll down to gpio-keys.kl and edit it
Step 3: On key 172 HOME comment key 172 HOME_DROPPED
Note: Save and reboot your phone. The capacitive keys and home button on your phone are now turned off. You can always disable the navbar and re-enable the capacitive keys if you no longer want them.
EDIT: Some stock Samsung apps such as gallery and phone are slightly covered by the soft keys, other than that it works as it should.
