Hi everyone,
I've been reading for a while about the new Android version, M, and its fingerprint capabilities. I know no one knows anything just yet, but I hope someone knows at least how it will work based on the preview. Do you think Samsung will update the S6 & S6 Edge to support this new API on Android M (opening up compatibility with lots of apps) or will they stay with their own API?
Thanks

It is very hard to find any information on this. Can anyone tell me when Android is going to support Bluetooth 3.0? It was one of the selling points of the Samsung Galaxy S and yet it still is not supported by android.
The necessary hardware is there but there is no support by android.

Anyone have any info on this? Google turns up nothing.
Hi, I was just browsing through YouTube and came across a very old video about the [meanwhile dead] iDroid-Project which made it possible to install Android as a Dual-Boot-Option on an iPhone 2G/3G. The group of the devs which was working on it didn't got along with each other anymore after some time, Apple fixed the security holes which made this possible and the project died off. I was just wondering if such a project would still be possible on newer (jailbroken) iPhones if somebody would discover the necessary exploits What are your thoughts about this? :good:

Hi,
now android 8.0 is out and many people would be interested to test it out on her old falcon device. It's not important that all working, just as preview would be make us all happy here. Just to look around, what's new. For me camera and mobil network not important. For testing it's just needed that Wifi is working.
When can we get an experimental build to test it out?
I'm hoping someone may let me know if it's possible to write a Driver to access the Android Cameras' directly rather than the OEM's or the Camera API?
I'm looking to have an app that can access both Front and Back cameras at the same time for devices that have dual video processors and looking to hire a developer to do "this" if it's possible.
I imagine it would most likely be C++ at the Linux Kernal or HAL level?
I'm not sure if there's anything at that level that would prevent an app from using it's own driver either?
Android 9 now allows for Dual/Multi Camera support but at that higher level, the Camera2 API only works for some devices. Have tried on Galaxy S4, S6 and S9 all running Android 9 and only the S4 worked.
Any information would help me to see if it's worth pursuing and greatly appreciated.
Just wanted to renew this question. Hoping someone can let me know if it's possible to do this?
Hello all,
I'm tring to get a basic screen recorder compiled and working on my Samsung S8. There are allot of examples on GitHub (such as https://github.com/googlesamples/android-ScreenCapture) all of which require updates (usually to androidx) when I try to compile against API 28 (Pie). However, they all crash when I try to start the screen recording activity on my S8 device. I've had several of them working in the emulator, but I thought there may be a catch or work around for Samsung devices, or perhaps just the S8?
I can provide my updated source for API 28 if needed, but thought I'd ask if anyone else has had this experience using the Media Manager to capture the screen?
Thanks so much!
