I was wondering if it would be possible to capture everything that happens on the screen of my XDAII to a movie file.
I've got RESCO image capture, but thats only for still images, while i'm looking for a video
(For a presentation for school I need to demonstrate how TomTom actually works, so i want the audience to see what you see when you use it)
anyone heared of a tool that could do this?
thanx!
Try Pocket controller-Enterprise: http://www.soti.net/ that has video capture.

Great program...also allows you to monitor and stop processes, which is handy when you want to uninstall proggies and you can't, because the program is running...
Highly recommended
I want to be able to watch movies on my XDA2 but do not know how to. Is it possible and if it is what would i need to do or get. Do i need a program on the XDA2. Which program would be the best to use?
Please could you help me because i really like my xda2 and want to watch movies on it.
Thank-you
The best way to watch movies on it is to go to www.handango.com and buy DVD to Pocket PC it's a program that compresses a dvd to about a mb for every minute of footage. You'll need an SD card to hold it- don't get a 128mb get a 512mb or 256mb at the least. The program works good I've used it on a load of films andit works on 95% but every odd dvd won't let you compress it. Te only thing to keep in mind is that if you get a huge Sd card everytime you get a phoncall it has to load up the card before the XDA2 will ring - on my 1gb card it can be about 4 rings sometimes. www.complett.ie is the cheapest site i've found for SD cards -1gb for 100 euros or £60
dimmy u can play movies on ur xda using softwares like pocet divx encoder and beta player , these r excellent stuff . u can find a long discussion on this topic on this forum cant remember where ..
Windows Movie Maker has an option to make (wmv) files for pocketpc devices. I ues beta player (i think it works really well). Another option is to use virtual dub or something and re-encode the file to a size that fits the screen. When I have do it that way, I also rotate the image 90 degrees.
Yo everbody
u can encode wmv movies with windows media encoder free download
Hi,
Would like to have the screen of the qtek 2020 visualized on a bigger screen.
Buying the backpack and connecting the video out to a video in of those 7" lcd display (you find many on the internet) will it work?
WIll it be aligned, I mean on the full screen size.
Thanks a lot.
backpack output is very slow maybe 2-5fps even slower when system is in (moderate) use. Far too slow for video, games, etc only useful for presentations and demonstrations.
ok, thanks for the reply.
What about using as a GPS?
I would like to see my tomtom 5 on a bigger screen. You think it will work?
Thanks and regards.
i've seen ones with both vga and composte
the xda should se one with composite as a tv it cant tell if a 32" tv is connected or something else
same thing with vga
I have no first hand experience of using tomtom so i dont know what it displays and how fast the display is updated but my best guess is that it will work fine on an external display. anybody have any experience?

Anybody know if I can convert videoes on TF instead of PC then transfer? The reason I ask is I have some of the videoes on a harddrive or I can download a high quality MKV file then maybe convert to low quality yet playable on TF.
Does it even have the processor power to do so? Just throwing it out there.
Thanks in advance!
No, not possible.

Everything has the power to convert video. It's all a matter of how long you want to wait... especially your suggested use: grab stuff that won't play smooth due to lack of power, then convert it into something less demanding. So essentially you would ask the poor thing to decode a video so to encode it in another format... not exactly faster than downloading something, converting it with a computer, and copy it on the TF.
And yeah, no encoding tools for Android (yet?)
