Installed CM 10.2.1 and now have no service - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Okay so last night I installed CM 10.2.1 on my Samsung galaxy S3 (Verizon SCH-1535)
Everything's running smoothly but for some reason I don't have any service anymore
I'm using a Family Mobile SIM card and APN, still have my IMEI and MEID but in the phone status screen PRL version, MIN and my phone number show up as unknown. Also it says that my mobile network state is disconnected.
Right now I can't send texts and call anyone. However I still do get automated billing texts...
Not sure what to do right now. I still have a CWM backup of the stock ROM. I'm rather new to this custom ROM and bootloader thing so I'm worried that I'll accidentally brick my phone.

Nevermind, i fixed it!

What did you do to fix this? I've had almost the exact same experience over the past couple of days but haven't managed to recover my service.
Background: Flashed back to Alliance 23 (TW 4.3) to see if TW would solve anything and it didn't. I've flashed the ML1 modem and NE1 and still nothing. I even went to a Verizon store to replace my SIM in case the PRL got botched somehow. I can receive texts and send texts sometimes but not consistently, cannot make or receive phone calls.
On Alliance I have the CDMA/LTE/EVDO network mode selected (defaults to global). I was previously trying out CM12.1 and had issues with the modem type sticking to LTE/CDMA (auto prl), after reboots it would switch back to LTE/GSM and the network modes presented were LTE, 3G, and 2G which didn't seem right.
The last time I had a fully functioning radio was with SlimKat Stable. Was having issues sending/receiving MMS and figured it was time to upgrade so went to CM12.1. Since I've tried flashing Alliance and other versions of CM I don't think flashing back to SlimKat will do much but I guess that's next on my list..
I feel like I'm missing something simple. Anyone have ideas?

I may have managed to fix this. Remembering the IMEI issues that happened early on in this phone's life I figured it might have something to do with that.
My IMEI was correct in my phone status, however my phone number and MIN were not correct (phone was 000-000-0023 or something strange) and my MIN was 00. Something definitely broken there.
Steps:
It requires you to have an IMEI backup already. I had done the reboot nvbackup from adb ages ago and decided to give it a shot with a reboot nvrestore.
Phone rebooted but was stuck on the Samsung logo...uh oh.
Had to do a battery pull and reboot to recovery manually.
Restored Alliance 4.3 backup and voila! Full service, phone number and MIN were correct.
Restored my CM12.1 backup image I had been trying out. Right off the bat there was still the same issue of no service.
Dialed the phone info menu (*#*#4636#*#*) and changed preferred network type to CDMA only, ping test succeeded.
Went to Settings | Mobile Networks and things looked more normal which was a great sign. My Preferred network type was actually blank, so I selected LTE (recommended).
Tried a test call to #832 and success!
Rebooted to make sure everything sticks and it does.
That was not a fun experience...still not entirely sure what actually broke but I've got a usable phone again and to top it off it's on CM12.1 which is just awesome so far

[Q] Not registered on the network problems

I've read a lot on the internet but have not found a good answer for me. In certain locations, almost daily, I get either a "not registered on the network" message or a "sim not allowed ##3" message on my Infuse. If I switch the phone to airplane mode and then back off of airplane mode it always reconnects to the AT&T network. The problem started after I changed my ROM from Infused 1.5.3 to Zeus 6. I've flashed to Mind of Mac 1.4 but that didn't fix the problem. I've tried a new SIM card, different APN settings and several other changes, but it didn't help. If I have a good 4g connection it never has the problem. It never re-registers on the network until I do the airplane mode on and off thing or reboot the phone. My iemi number shows up weird on the phone too. What is the best way to fix this problem? Thanks.
No one has a clue?
No one has a clue how to fix the problem? It happens when I lose 3g or 4g connection.
What modem do you have?

Modem
I currently have UCLB3. I have tried a few different ones but it does the same thing with each one I've tried.
Sounds like you know what you are doing , unfortunately it sounds like a hardware issue. If going to settings > mobile networks > network operators and choosing AT&T does not fix it the only thing to suggest is return for repair or exchange. As you know, you will have to return it to stock so after you do that you may want to test it one more time. Sorry, not the answer you wanted but the best answer I have, Regards.

From recent experience - I would avoid using the fixes listed above as they will change your IMEI.
I say this as I was having a similar issue -- I had been running on the ParanoidAndroid ICS rom for a few days and my I997 started to do the same thing. Network connection was fine most of the time but it would occasionally drop out to no network. Except swapping between airplane mode didnt always fix it. If i rebooted the phone and it would pop up with "Unknown" Baseband Version, and no IMEI/IME SV until it connected again... whenever it decided to do so.
I flashed a few different modems to no avail.
Used GTG's stock restore... and it still showed no baseband or IMEI.
Searched through everything i could find and I found the 2 above posts. Being the cautious person that I am, I was skeptical to run the "fix" since I know playing with the efs folder can do.. fun things.. I backed it up with EFS Pro.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1308546
So after that - I did the fix from those two posts. It worked. I got a signal. HUZZAH. But I could only make a few calls before it would drop out, and I couldn't send or receive text messages at all they would just stall and error out.
So I took a look at the IMEI again and noticed that it was NOT *my* IMEI, it was presumably the imei of the person who Truckerglenn got the backup from so long ago.
Figured at this point my phone is going to have to go back to Samsung to fix since it's still dropping out, the IMEI is wrong and I can't send texts
Can't break it anymore than it's already broken right?
Go back into root browser, delete the EFS folder entirely. *poof* gone. Reboot. Use EFS Pro to restore the backup I had created (GOOD THING!) phone reboots. Instantly picks up the signal again, I get 15 text messages, 2 voicemails AND my IMEI shows what it should be now.
*HOPEFULLY* it holds onto its connection now. If not, back to stock and back to samsung it goes - now with the correct IMEI. heh
Sorry for the long story
Thanks! May have found a partial fix.
Thanks for the tips and information. I think I may have found a partial fix. It seems that picking the "WCMDA only" in the "Network Mode" options seems to solve the problem for me. If it is set on "GSM/WCCMA (auto mode)" option, it seems to cause the "SIM not allowed ##3" or the "not registered on the network" problem when I am in an area where the 4G or 3G signal is weak. I will do some more testing. It appears that if I don't have 3G or 4G available in any given location my phone won't connect to the cell towers at all even though other users can connect without any problems. Does this give anyone any other ideas? Do I possibly just need new APN settings?
Have you tried flashing a new radio? Does a complete wipe and restore to UCLB3 make any difference?
Has any of these roms/firmwares that you flashed been done so through Aroma installer? I know Aroma gives you the option to change modems, and if your download was buggered that could have caused it.
I'm just tossing ideas around here... I'm up early and looking to help.
The work around works
Yes, I have flashed the radio but that didn't help. I have discovered the "fix" is to set my phone on "WCDMA only". It seems that the phone will only work if 4G or 3G is available. I am not longer getting the original error messages. So that's a good thing. If I ever go to where 3G and/or 4G is not available I will have to try something else. Thanks for all the replies.

[Q] No mobile data after reverting from CM to stock

Okay, so I've been searching the net for days and to no avail. I installed the new Cyanogenmod on my Nexus 5 and found it, well, awful. It kept hanging, restarting etc. Now when I tried to revert back to stock, I downloaded the image file from developers/google/com/android/nexus/images, and there's no 4g. No mobile data whatsoever. I can call, the Wi-Fi is working, but no mobile data. I've tried factory resetting, installing a different radio zip etc. When I install Cyanogenmod again, the 4g works again, but after going back to stock nothing again. Any help?
Wow, this is stupid, but after trying everything, including running every new stock rom, I tried installing the 4.4 (KRT16M) AND IT FINALLY WORKED. I'm gonna leave this up for anyone in the same situation as me.
Well, would you guess, the problem's back, but from a different angle. After installing 4.4.0, and letting the device upgrade itself to 4.4.4, the data worked perfectly. Now I tried to install the android L developer preview and again no data connection.
Does anyone have any idea if it could be a regional issue or something? I tried flashing older radio zip files but to no avail, now back to 4.4.0 .
Try setting a new APN with your carrier settings.
I lost connection all together last Saturday. I flashed CM 11,Friday and all was well. Received a call Saturday, it rang once then lost connection. Had to reboot four times to regain service and that was short lived. After any call incoming or outgoing, I lose service. All APNs are present. WiFi works. SIM alert when SIM is removed. SIM works fine in my N4. Did a complete tear down and it's not hardware related.
---------- Post added at 09:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:58 PM ----------
Sim works fine in my N4 also
If you loose signal might be a radio problem, still if you have signal but no connectivity try with the new APN, android (CM, stock unless carrier stock) had errors in the APN list for my carrier and I had to manually add it each time I used a new rom for several years.

i think speedtest, advanced download manager, the first time it happend, i had just flashed slimkat 5.10, i set everything up, and i used the LTE quick tile to turn off LTE, my hole signal dissopeared and my phone crashed, i had to restore to stock to get it back. now it does as i discribed erlier.
man, i just got off the phone with a robot from tmobile customer service. she had me turn the phone off and pull the sim card, she told me she "refreshed" my service on her end and the problem was "gone". ya, its not.

Signal issues

I've flashed different radios and the oxygen firmware, still my signal fluctuates all without me moving the phone on my desk. Ideas?
Signal also drops out for no reason.
I'm having the same issue with mine as well, bumping your thread to get it noticed. I haven't flashed a different radio, but I'm running the stock COS12.1 ROM, never rooted, and always updated via OTA updates. I think this occured with COS12 as well, but I'm noticing it more with 12.1. I've also noticed that it takes the phone quite a while to switch over from WiFI to LTE when I leave the house...not sure if it's related.
I'm looking to avoid doing any modding to my phone at the moment because I really need to have it active at all times to receive calls, but the fact that it randomly loses signal is frustrating.
I logged the network activity last night over the course of several hours at 10 second intervals. [Edit: Phone was stationary on my nightstand the whole time with the occasional picking it up to look at the time.] There are quite a few points where signal is lost. Usually it's only for a few seconds, but it seems like it's enough to miss calls (what prompted me to log the signal is when I received a voicemail but did not have any missed calls).
Does anyone know if there's a fix for this? The app I used for logging is "Network Monitor" from the Play Store.
Still not convinced after flashing 44s didn't help then flashing the updated Oxygen firmware still nothing. My signal will go from to bars to emergency calls only. Deleted all the Unneeded apns.
Rom: Resurrection Remix.
Service Provider: Net10 using AT&T towers.
When did this start happening: As soon as I updated my firmware to the latest Cm 12.1 per RR thread.
I've tried everything i can think of, even using the hidden phone menu to select LTE/GSM. Still no luck. Every once in a while when i am at a place where i get good signal this isn't an issue. Seems to happen when i get 3 bars or less.

Just confirming this as an issue on Ting, I was on the 12.1 Nightly's, I also tried Exodus. I can be at close to full service and for some reason signal will drop out constantly, yesterday I had a 22% time without signal according to battery stats.
Clicking on network operators and selecting the correct one only temperately fixes the problem.
Solved the same exact issue on my phone
Had the same issue on mine after updating to 12.1 OTA. Selecting my APN didn't work, my connection kept going in and out to my carrier. It was as though the radio would shut off and then turn back on every 15 seconds or so. I reset default APN's, and all is back to normal T-Mobile, for what it's worth.

I've tried that no luck.
I fixed this on my phone, I reset to default apns, selected the correct one and then deleted all APNs that weren't mine. According to GSam i'm at 57% in 15h 34m
No luck, tried that.
Should I try to fastboot flash the 44s modem?
I've been using Phil's cwm and I don't think it's flashing right. Because I went back to a May 2015 nightly of cm 12.1 then flashed 44s and nuclearslim 1.3 ,bam everything works perfectly.

You can't use a KitKat modem with a Lollipop ROM or you'll have prox sensor issues.
I have the proximity fix file, should I fastboot flash though.
I think Ill just fastboot flash the 44s, and why isn't Phil's saving my backups. It wiped them when I wiped the user info. Left my other files.

Not sure, I never had that issue. switched to the
XNPH05Q modem after my phone for what ever reason was stuck in a bootloop. I had this problem solved before it bootlooped. Here I am back with the same problem, I even followed the steps that i used to fix it last time. Nope not working this time, Some how Using XenonHd, my signal stength is all over whille sitting in the same place. Starting to think that my sim card may be going downhill. Any ideas?

LG G5 Sim not detected only for SMS and calls

As stated I'm using the LG G5 H830 T-Mobile variant. I am getting 4G LTE data connection and everything runs well (Not in any WiFi range) Yet for SMS and calling as well as mobile hotspot I get "No USIM card' error. This happened after wiping the system and formatting data. Rebooted recovery (as per instructions on forum) then installed the stock firmware & Patch with systemless root and xposed. After this I did factor reset when just pulling the sim didn't help. Still nothing. I reflashed just the stock firmware with TWRP and SuperSU and issue is still happening. I've disabled rebooted and enabled the phone radio. SIM is in good condition and tray as well everything is SECURE and should be good to go.
I'm assuming a new SIM might be a solution. But I'm not counting on it and with Labor Day tomorrow for me I wouldn't be able to pick one up for 2 days. So here I am...hoping someone might have a fix. I know I don't have many posts on here. But I am an experienced user....just not with the more basic of problems I guess
Thanks!!
Has anyone else experienced this yet? I'm just curious...I had it fixed for a couple days. I've formatted data and done complete system wipe. Tried it resetting phone with the COMPLETE zip and TOT using LGUP. I'm receiving texts. Not calls. Not able to send either. I've activated new sim, didn't help. LG support just told me to look into warranty. T-Mobile needless to say just wanted. Sim card does show stock tmobile short code contacts but phone number shows as unknown. Hotspot won't work. I've tried setting the phone number to the sim. Nothing.
Anyways. I don't think I messed with anything, even so I've done everything to start the phone from scratch. Going to replace it, just more or less curious at this point and maybe others have had the same issue.
I believe I had the same issue as you and it was driving me crazy. I was constantly wiping data, system, etc but my phone kept giving the message "roaming indicator off" where it should show the name of the carrier. This resulted in me having LTE data and that's it- no 3g, no phone calls, etc. I couldn't even access the mobile network menu.
What ended up causing the issue was the network mode setting under wireless networks. Keep in mind at this point I'm running a patched rom which now gives more options in the network mode menu than the phone came factory with. I have an area at work where I have to switch to 3g, GSM/wcdma preferred network setting, because although I have full LTE signal, my connection goes dead. When switching back from 3g I chose the setting lte/CDMA thinking this would force my phone to stay in lte mode due to another area on an upper floor where the phone will constantly drop lte.
Anyways this resulted in my phone saying roaming indicator unavailable, the inability to make or receive phone calls, and either the mobile networks or network mode menus being grayed out. When stuck in this mode there is no way to put the phone back into the standard "GSM/wcdma/lte" mode. Even a complete reflash won't fix it. I even used lgup, which worked for maybe a day until it force closed the phone app and went back to roaming indicator unavail. I wiped every partition and even reflashed radio firmware. Nothing worked.
What ended up fixing it was using an app called v10 hidden settings which allowed me to access the network mode menu directly and re-choose the lte/wcdma/GSM setting. Incidentally on first access to this menu through the app there are only two network settings available. Once you choose a GSM setting, the rest appear.
I'm not sure if this was your issue but I hoped this helped because this took me about a week to workout.

Cell service won't connect when roaming with Lineage OS on Sprint, works with stock

This is a Galaxy S5 on the Sprint Network with Lineage OS version from a few weeks ago.
Last week this was working fine and then since Sunday cell service stopped working completely. The only change I did was updating TWRP, I did not update LineageOS, but I can't imagine TWRP would have affected it. I ended up reverting back to the stock ROM thinking I would have to call Srpint customer service, but then it started working under the stock ROM. Reflashed TWRP and Lineage OS and no service. Tried older and newest versions of TWRP and Lineage OS but nothing works except stock ROM (yuck).
The cellular connection says "no service" with completely empty bars. About every 5 seconds it will flash like it is connected, with most bars and the little R for roaming, then immediately goes back to "no service". I've tried changing preferred networks and looked at settings but can't find anything to fix it.
Any ideas? It's almost like the network is rejecting it but I don't see why it would matter if it is a custom ROM.
EDIT: oh yeah and on start up it says "Activating cellular service... This may take up to 5 minutes" or and then after a while says "Couldn't Activate" and that it may be fixed by restarting the phone (which of course doesn't fix it). Also I'm not entirely sure if it is related to roaming or not.
EDIT2: I'm wondering/betting this has something to do with the ICCID number. I noticed with Lineage OS installed it says "DUMMY_NV_ICC_SERIAL" but with the stock ROM it is a long string of digits. Now maybe I can change the ICCID on Lineage OS? Or maybe Lineage OS isn't reading my sim card properly (from googling what ICCID is)?
I'm having similar issues trying to use this phone on FreedomPop. It looks like the cell services sometimes continually crashes/restarts - a reboot usually clears that up. I also get no LTE data (3G works fine). I have the correct APN AFAIK (https://support.freedompop.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3322/~/apn-settings---lte-sim). Possibly related to the "DUMMY_NV_ICC_SERIAL" issue?
I've been experiencing this issue for a few weeks now. My LTE data is functional but I cannot send SMS while using 4G. The activation screen pops up when I restart my phone, and it will only activate under Sprint 3G service. I also have the same issue with the flashing service bars, every couple of seconds -- the only way I've found to remedy the lack of service is to turn roaming on and off -- after so many tries, the prompt to select my sim card pops up and it finally connects to the sprint network.
I dont know why this has worked for me but its been a struggle and a wicked pita for me. I use Tello as a provider which is a sprint mvno. This last time to get cell signal i had to flash a stock rom via odin doing a full factory wipe to the phone. I booted into the stock rom to make sure i had lte connectivity. Then booted to download, flashed twrp via odin. Booted into twrp. installed remastered remix 5.7? The next to latest ( marshmello version not neuget ) then booted into RR. Once there i switched it from global to LTE and added the tello apn. I can not connect but i have no idea why this worked. I would love it if someone could tell me why this worked and what i can do in the future to save myself some headaches, flashing factory rom every time i want to change a rom sucks.
