So I rooted my S6 and changed my DPI to 540 because 640 is just clunky. Just one little issue. Everything scales perfectly fine except the stock camera app. The camera even works properly in apps, its only the stock app. Is there any fix for this?
I'm gonna assume no one has any idea
Can i apply different dpi to selected app? I can't do it anymore with appsettings because xposed not work in s6 g920f

Slightly off topic, but I can't stand the noticeable screen sharpening on text with the s6. Wish I could disable it somehow...

I've flashed MOAR S5 Port for galaxy note 3 on my sprint note 3. Today I used the romtoolbox to change my dpi to 320. It worked but I do not have any extra USEABLE room on my home screens or app drawers. It shrinks the screen and keeps the wallpaper the same size (as it should) but it moves the dots that indicate what home screen you are on up and you can't use any space below them for anything. Basically the whole screen looks normal unless you look close you can see the page indicator dots that use to be at the bottom are a little higher than mid way up now and anything below them it just doesn't let you put anything. I hope im explaining this well enough. Has anyone had this problem? Is this a rom issue or a user issue?
I have a little strange problem with Camera application after changing DPI in my S6.
After rooting I changed DPI as in every my device. Everything was fine except Camera app: there is a much smaller window with application, there is also some problem with on-screen buttons reaction.
I changed DPI in many devices and NEVER have such problem.
Any suggestions? For now I go back to stock DPI, but it sucks for me...
This is a natural occurrence since the camera app is baked in. I have the same issues with the dialer and calculator. Use Google camera instead.
Would deodexed ROM be solution?

You can't. If you do stock apps like dialer and camera get messed up.
Nobel Rom, the version from the bigger Edge+ and Note 5. I use this one now, and the hole phone is "smaller".
My Note 4 i use xposed and App.Settings to change the dpi. App by app. I even tried it 4 my S6 with same program but nothing at all seems to change from 480 520 620 and so on..

I rooted my Sprint S8+ and everything is great except for one thing. When I open my camera application (and others that automatically adjust to the screen's orientation) it will automatically default to landscape... Until I actually turn it to landscape, at which point the screen goes to portrait.
In other words, the orientation is opposite of what it should be. Any ideas on this?

You used the wrong firmware maybe, make sure g955 is s8+ and g950 is s8
I have a rooted Huawei Mediapad T5, running stock ROM. But 1 reason why I had rooted it, was because of it's annoying resolution. Everything is way too big which causes too much screen space to be filled.
I searched XDA and google to solve this problem. But everytime I boot, the tablet is back to it's orriginal screensetting.
I've found out that lowering the DPI works in my case. It seems to be set at 320 orriginally? At least this is the info I get from terminal and ADB commands. Other apps like CPU-Z tell me 255.
Well, let's say it's 320.Then lowering it to 280 or 300 makes a big diffrence for me and everything looks way better arranged on the screen. But again, after boot it changes back to 320...
Things I've tried (with no luck ofcourse):
- Changing dpi using my tab connected to my laptop using ADB (DPI settings get applied, but are gone after reboot).
- Changing dpi using a terminal-app on the tab itself (DPI settings get applied, but are gone after reboot).
- There was no "ro.sf.lcd_density=" in build.prop. So I added it and rebooted. But no change after reboot.
- I've tried some (root) apps from the app-store, for changing DPI-settings (DPI settings get applied, but are gone after reboot).
When I change DPI with the Terminal, and check display settings first. then it shows me the standard DPI settings of 320. When I use this same terminal to change DPI to 300, then it gives me 2 lines after checking again.
Physical density: 320
Override density: 300
So I was thinking, maybe I should look for a way to change this "Physical density" vallue to trick keeping it like this?

I think something is off with my screenresolution.
Information in the terminal gives me: Physical size 1200x1920
Websites detect it as 960x600
and the physical dimentions are:
width 21,6 cm
height 13,5cm
diagonal 25,5 cm

I've found that other tabs with similar screen size and aspect ratio have an resolution of 800x1280.
Tried to change this. And this setting is still saved after rebooting. But the screen looks way to big now.
