I have Windows Mobile 6.5 (The standard rom) but I can't play Youtube videos with the standard app. I just shows a video saying that "Youtube is upgrading to a newer version, which is not supported by this device or app."
Help me please, because I can't find a newer version of Youtube for windows mobile.
There's an appstore right? If so try looking up YouTube and don't do the official YouTube app do another one or try downgrading your YouTube app did this start when it updated

Thanks for that! Have you found anything? 'Cuz I sure haven't.
What about ninjaducks version of opera with flash support, I use to watch youtube vids direct in browser rather than via the htc youtube app.
I have not got anything except a YouTube video downloader you could try an alternative web browser that supports flash player but can't find anything else

Can anyone please let me know if there is any app to download videos from any site (not just You Tube)?
I want to download videos (generally flash videos) from any website.
I searched on net and market but there are apps that download videos from You Tube but not from any other site.
i dont think thats possible on galaxy 3.. until full flash support is up..
Thanks for the reply rudolf895 but I think flash is only needed to play the videos not to download them. And also, if there are apps that download videos from You Tube, then I dont think there is any problem in coding an app that will support any website (not just You Tube)?
The app should be that: The User just need to enter the url from which you want to download the video and app should do the rest.
Please let me know your thoughs on this.

Use "Save Video plugin for Internet Explorer". It allows you convert videos during downloading. Just select Convert>Devices>Droid before download videos.
Every app I've tried that says that you just share the link with the app, and then it will download the video, fails to do so. When the link is shared, the app then reports that there is no video in the link. I'm at a loss. I don't wanna download on my laptop and trans over to droid device, that defeats the purpose of using the droid device. If i wanted to use the laptop all the time i wouldn't have got a tablet.
Use bytetornado, it's working!
I found this:
http://www.appszoom.com/android_applications/media_and_video/web-video-downloader_blftq.html
It's not free. But it does work about 50% of the time...
I'm sorry. I have to take back my last post. It turns out that web video downloader is no longer available on the play store. Meaning you'll have to get it elsewhere. And even then it still has a very low success rate. I'm currently trying to download and it keeps crashing. I'm disgusted. Why isn't there an android app similar to internet download manager for windows? Something that captures streaming video?
there are 2 that I have found

Not sure if you are still looking but there are 2 apps that I have found. One is dowloadr...not great and crashes a fair bit but could be the user not the program! the best one imo is video catcher....there is a free demo version with almost full capability or for a dollar you can upgrade and download many vids simultaniosly... basically with videocatcher if you can play it on your screen it can download it.... both in the store

firefox for android will do the work for you..
just add the flash video downloader add-on..

No app worked.
I used opera and adm download manager.
In opera, type about:cache and search for the right file by clicking on preview.
A dialogue box will allow you to open the link with adm.
Start the download with adm.
I had to search a bit for the video file because there are sometimes no extensions and you don't know which site is really hosting the video.
You may consider deleting previous caches in settings to avoid this problem.

Try TubeMate for YouTube videos.......It's against google policy to download videos and hence this app is no longer available on the market...

Dude if you really have the video URL you can download it in any browser. The content you're after is typically one of several components of a web page; the URL you have is either for the surrounding web page, or perhaps for the swf player (the active element that chromes your video stream and provides limited interactivity with the Flash server).
What you actually need is an app to parse the obfuscated video URL from the page source--and to perform authentication if the video is hosted on an RTMP server. In other words, a YouTube downloader extension is not as easily repurposed as you imagine.
For the (GUI-dependent) majority, just using a downloader that can perform RTMP handshaking is non-trivial. That said, RTMPDump binaries have been compiled for Android--give it a try and let us know how it works out.

Tubemate is by far the best one on the market (even though you have to get it from their site istead of market)
Is there any app that would work with other sites like Vimeo? Maybe if I just put in a URL it will grab the flash content?
Tubemate definitely best!

Hello, YouTube has a new HTML5 mobile version, ios and Android can use it by connecting to m.youtube.com, but if I connect to that link I access the old version, why?
can i use this new version?
i've mango and ie9 with html5 support
I think that when u connect to YouTube that it checks your OS as well as your browser and, seeing wp7, it loads a mobile site.
Sent from my SGH-i917 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
That's a problem on YouTube's end, because IE9 Mobile is for YouTube an "unknown" browser and doesn't recognize the user agent, so you're being redirected to the standard mobile page. Microsoft is working with YouTube to get this fixed.
Is there any way to change the user agent? Maybe possible to make an app for that? So the websites would think we're using mobile Safari...

Go to http://www.youtube.com.
If Internet Explorer is set to prefer a mobile version, then switch YouTube to Desktop version (there is a link on the very bottom).
Go to http://www.youtube.com/html5 and turn HTML5 on.

HTML 5 BBC iPlayer site for iPhone

Has anyone worked out how to get to the HTML5 version of BBC iPlayer? Now THAT would be brilliant...
Stopped working
Hi all
I had this working until last night when, without me doing anything m.youtube.com has simply stopped playing videos. The website works but when I select "Play Video" or click on the thumbnail it doesn't do anything. When I select "copy link" and paste it into the address bar it has a 3gp extension and I get a message saying: "internet explorer does not recognise this type of address and cannot display the page." Does anybody know how to get it working again?
I have opted into the HTML5 trial on the m.youtube.com site.
Cheers

Hi kearnychan
Yes, I can download one of many clients, but previously if I wanted to view an embedded youtube video on pocketnow.com, wpcentral.com or wmpu.com, I could just do so through the web page. Now, all I get is a message about Adobe Flash or taken straight to a Youtube page which asks me to opt into a HTML5 trial, which I have already opted into.
It isn't much fun to have to load a separate app, then search for the video you were trying to watch on a website, especially when I could do that a couple of days ago.
Any suggestions anybody?
Cheers

Ok I purchased 2 samsung galaxy note 10.1's for my mom and dad they are both running 4.0.4
My dad likes to watch movies and has alot of his movies stored on vudu but that requires adobe flash player to watch.
My mother like to play facebook games and those also require adobe flash player to work.
Is there anyway that I can get adobe flash player on these tablets so they can enjoy them the way they would like too.
Please help as I have tried everything that I can think of.
Google search the latest flash player .apk file
Or you can grab it here: https://www.box.com/shared/uift12m7ty697fc8naue

I have tried this, downloaded and installed. Went on the net and opened facebook to try a game. The game didnt load on the first try as a matter of fact it kicked me off the net and back to the home screen. I tried loading it again and it loaded but after about a minute the screen went white with the play button in the middle.

ok thanks for the info, however 11.1.115.16 version is not listed on the archive page for android 4.0 devices.
I forgot to add that these devices are the GT-N8013 model.
Does anyone know where I can get this version?
When I installed the flash apk it didn't work at first. So I went to the installed apps and clicked on flash and stopped the app. Next I rebooted the tab and when it rebooted and connected to the net I went to the play store and it had an update for flash player. Installed it and its worked since.
Edit; The flash version on my tab is 11.1.115.34 if that helps......
The most recent Adobe update doesn't include mobile flash, Adobe dropped support for mobile flash player earlier this year. Sideload the last archived Android version that you find on Adobe's site. Eventually that version will quit working as Adobe makes more coding changes to desktop flash and no mobile device will be able to properly display any flash content.

I tried this, downloaded the .34 version and installed. Rebooted tablet and reconnected to the internet, went to the play store and there was no update to adobe flash player available.
I always have the APK available in my dropbox. I only have 11.1.115.20, it works flawlessly on my GNote II, Nexus 7, Samsung Tab 2 7.0, and my GNote 10.1

I used to have the initial MX player and was able to use it alongside the Youtube downloader to download and then later watch Youtube videos when I had no signal (which happens alot)
Then they redid the MX player and suddenly I can't download anything to it, I can play the stuff I had previously downloaded fine; I can even delete stuff from that past list. But I can't add new stuff to it.
What am I doing wrong here? I find it hard to believe that they'd update the MX player and make it worse/uunusable. I've sent request after request to the app developers but have heard nothing back. If anyone has anyanswers ir suggestions I'd be really greatful
Thanks
I think downloading youtube videos is not enterily legal, many app got removed from google play because of that.
m.tubemate.net
Out of scope of this app IMHO, for download YT videos use this app: YouTube Downloader.
MX Player itself has nothing to do with downloading anything. MX merely just plays whatever is given to it. Downloading YouTube videos is of questionnable legality, so we'll not discuss it further here. If you have problems with whatever app is doing that, you should talk to them.
I use two workarounds. You may try one if you like.
1. Change youtube to youtubepaw.com, for example, https://www.youtubepaw.com/the-link-of-video.
2. Try using this free YouTube downloader. It's workable on both desktop and mobile.
