I use my Galaxy Tab as a navigation in my car, last night i was watching a movie and i did not charge it, it was 8% left battery life,
This morning i mounted it in my car, put the GPS on, tried to charge it with my car charger, it kept notifying me every 5 seconds the tablet is charging, and not charging, (keeps connecting and disconnecting) till it gave me a black screen, since i was driving i ignored it.
when i reached my destination, i was able to put in download mode, by hitting volume down and power, then i hit volume down to restart. then it gave me a black screen again, tried to do the same thing then i hit volume up to get me in download mode, then i powered it off somehow, i do not remember, now i am stuck in black screen,
had it on the OEM charger for an hour, it does not seem to be charging, i am not able to get in download or recovery mode.
i have had this tablet for 3 weeks now, never flashed a custom rom or rooted it,
is there any way to put it back to life? please please help!

Why are you trying to go to download mode, simply plug to an AC power outlet, leave it for seconds & keep pressing the power button for around 3-4 seconds, it should boot up normally.

Hello,
Two days ago, i was on a plane and my htc ons s S3 turn off due to battery go to less than 5% and loses all power, when i came to home i try to charge it but the LED still off and when i pressing the Power key does not turn on the device, i have left more than 5h and the issue still here.
if i remove the battery and than try to charge it with an externel adaptater sector, it will be charged or not ?
Please any idea ?
You might have to leave it alone on charge for at least 15-30 minutes until the LED shows up. Then you should be able to power it on.

I have already leave at all the night, the LED is up but i think the phone is not charging, when i try to power on it, nothing happened.
When a put the sector to the phone, the LED flash about 10s with orange color, and than it's still off for some time and it's turn on (orange color) but no charge on the battery.
Have you tried to boot to hboot while charging(hold vol down and hold power same time).
If you plug into pc does it show up or do anything in pc.

Not working
Have you tried holding the power button down for 10+ seconds?
The only other thing I can think of is something has frozen, maybe you can leave it off charge for a day or two until the battery is really completely flat, then charge it for a few hours without turning it on, then see what happens?
Thanks for all,
It's work now
but believe me I heated my phone around 7min because I'm in a very cold city now and when i touch the phone i find it very cold so i decided to put it near from a fireplace and it's work juste after.
ooooofffffff
I have a stock phone HTC One (M8) that has never been rooted. Today I pulled my phone out of my pocket and it wouldn't turn on. I've tried:
pressing the power button along with the volume up
Pressing power and volume down
Pressing power and volume up and down
I took it to the Verizon store and they said they would have to ship a refurb out to me. I wanted to check this forum to see if anyone has ideas before I get a refurb.
Thanks in advance!
Simular situation - will not power up or hold charge
Im S-off and unlocked .... I downloaded the new RUU 4.4.4 and everything was fine. the next day the battery drained completely and I plugged the charging cord in. I got the battery icon in the center of the screen and 0% life. The orange light is blinking, but the battery level doesn't change. I cannot get it to power up or get into the bootloader. Once I unplug the power cable the unit doesn't power on. if the keep the unit plugged In for a power source I'm still unable to boot. I'm totally out off ideas ... can I get someone to respond to help me out in this desperate time.

Can you try a different charger and cable? The blinking orange light is what they do when they are completely dead. Starts out blinking and wont go solid until enough charge is present to actually boot the phone.
I just upgraded to 4.4.4 as well maybe 3-4 days ago. I had been able to charge the phone a couple of times without issue right up until it wouldn't turn on yesterday.
I left the phone off the charger overnight and tried rebooting again this morning, and nothing.

Same here .. Been on the charging cord for a few days without any change in battery %.
Dodat ... Is there anyway to revive the M8 to accept the charge?

Try this:
Battery is fully charged, but the device does not turn on
Plug device into the provided HTC wall charger that came with the device.
Press and hold the Power, Volume up and Volume down keys for 1 - 2 full minutes. The battery should re-calibrate and the device will then turn on.
or
Battery shows less than 0% charge level
Plug device into the provided HTC wall charger that came with the device.
Charge the device until the LED indicator glows solid red.
Attempt to power the device on as usual. If it will not power on, press and hold the Power and Volume up keys for 10 seconds while still on the charger.
I tried this just now, nothing.
When I hook up the charger, I don't get any lights to indicate that the phone is charging.
It's like the phone is bricked, but I haven't messed with any ROMs at all. I'm completely stock and locked.

I am unlocked but am having the same problem. I've had the phone since almost launch day and it's been fine until now.....all of a sudden it won't charge. I've tried many different cables and chargers that I know work, but nothing gives.
Were you able to figure anything out? Really don't want to have to get a refurb as I don't think I'll be able to get it rooted/unlocked anymore.
edit: After letting it "charge" for about an hour I was able to turn the phone back on. It said the battery was at 30% but was draining like 2% every 15-20 seconds. Looking at the settings it said the battery state was unkown (where it usually says not charging or charging). Something is definitely doing on here, but I have no idea what. I tried rebooting to recovery from the ROM but it just shut off. Now it's doing the same thing again (0%, won't turn on). Ugh!
I recently bought a power bank for my oneplus one and whenever i plug it in the phone stops charging after 2-3 seconds but if i keep the phone awake, it continues to charge, so basically it stops charging when i lock it. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you try your new power bank with other devices? Are all the devices facing similar issue like your OPO?
Is your OPO acting in same way when you charge using your inbox charger?
If not, please try factory reset or reflash your ROM. Link for tutorial on flashing.
Yeah, so the battery got drained, and now the phone will not respond to anything.
Pwr-btn + both volume-btn for ~20 sec did nothing. Will not take a charge from either PC or adapter.
I will be leaving it overnight in the charger.
:crying:
UPDATE
Contacted Nokia Support via webchat.
After some confusion, they suggested only;
Hold vol+ vol- & pwr buttons for ~20s
Hold pwr button for ~30s
If repeated tries does not turn the phone on, then contact local Nokia Care Shop

Put phone on charging. Then while it's on charging
Press VOLUME UP & POWER BUTTON till you feel a vibration and Android logo with 10-9-8-7 counting.
It'll open up in RECOVERY.

After having the phone lying on the desk for a few days, and now doing as you said, it finally vibrated.
After some time in the charger, it started taking charge. Never booted up like you said, but it still worked.

What happens if you hold the buttons like that? A hard reset? Or anything else?
It should go into Recovery, if you keep holding.
How long does it take to go into recovery mode ? I have been holding it for 5 mins now.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks !

How long one has to hold the keys ? My Nokia 3 is not starting up. I had the same problem. Battery got drained & is not charging up. Tried all usual methods - different chargers, ports, cleaning USB on phone, vol button press + power button press. All in vain.
Try removing sim and sdcard. Then try again. Hold for several minutes.

Not to be skeptical or anything but how do you hold down the home button on a phone with soft keys when the phone is off?
---------- Post added at 11:56 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:52 AM ----------
I had a similar problem too, but I was too impatient to try the methods that required waiting for days. I voided my warranty by opening the phone, disconnecting the battery and reconnecting then closing back my phone. The battery started charging afterwards.
If you decide to go this route, i suggest you lookup information on nokia 3 disassembly so as not to mistakenly mess anything up
Well... I bought a nokia 3 today and after only 2 hours of use, wich included 2 software updates (from 7.0 to 7.1.1 and a november security patch) phone turned off, it was like 48% battery and sudenly it turned off.
After a couple of minutes I connected it to the charger and it's charging now, it says battery is 0% charged, so it went from 48% to 0% instantly. Appearently battery calibration is way off in this phone, just like the first generation of android phones when samsung and other brands didn't know how to make android work properly. I'm completely sure it's software related so hope they fix this in the next update soon.

Well ususally they recommend that you fully charge your phone after you first buy it (although i'm not sure how valid that instruction really is)

EDIT: omg it took 4:30 hours to fully charge it, LOL
