Will this work on the G900w8?
I did some scanning on the project dokdo site and looked at some reviews (very old ones) of dokdo ROMs.
Just so I have it straight:
This Dokdo ROM is:
- Cyanogenmod 12.1, running android 5.1.x (so basically the same as the other one)
- The Pie controller thingy
- system stabilizations?
Could somebody/dev tell me the difference between this and the 12.1 ROM, other than the pie controller. Is there something different under the hood? Because the 12.1 one gives me some heating issues, and very minor bugs.
So TL;DR, what are these system stabilization changes between the two ROMs?
I tried it

They're naming it "Dokdo", because the developers are Korean and it's just another proud theme of "Korean", not because they wanted to start a war with Japanese.
This is XDA, where we talk about development stuffs, bringing users a delightful experience, not to discuss political stuffs.
I'm sure most Koreans, including me and the Dokdo developers won't mind if Japanese decides to announce a ROM named "Takeshima" because they feel proud of it, at least ostensibly.
Imagine a ROM named "Bibimbap", which is just a Korean food.

OmniROM is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.4 (Kitkat), which is designed to increase performance, reliability and features over stock Android for your device. It's also about options, which is the beauty of Android.

nice joob dude all hopes to be our omni stable and fast good luck:good:
@rr46000
Great Job! Very glad to know you were able to get through those build errors. It "should" be smooth sailing now since you get the hard part out of the way. Now you just need to build nightlies/weeklies or whenever you feel like! If you haven't already, I would setup CCACHE if you have the extra hard drive space. It will dramatically reduce the build times. If you need help feel free to ask.

Just curious, this is unofficial, isn't it?

Well, after those fundamental bugs are solved, many of us (including myself) will try it in our phones and probably find other ones. It's quite logical not to encounter small details until a signifcant quantity of users are trying the rom. Still, even when new bugs will arise after the rom is more functional and more people begin using it, that's not bad at all. On the contrary, it's healthy, that's the only path to perfect any rom and/or kernel (or so I think!).

AOKP-ANDROID OPEN KANG PROJECT
What is AOKP?
AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project. It is a custom ROM distribution for several high-end Android devices. The name is a play on the word kang and AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The name was sort of a joke, but it just stuck, just like our infatuation with unicorns.
We fork the source code of Android that Google puts out in the open with every major version release, and we then add the magical unicorn bytes (read: we add some of the coolest features that are both useful and make your ROM awesome).
With AOKP, you can generally do a lot more with your device than what you could do with the original firmware that came installed on it.
Why AOKP ?
We were waiting for when you'd ask this.
There are a variety of reasons why a hilly billy Android user, on a bright sunny day, would suddenly start using AOKP and loving it.
For one, AOKP is lightweight. Most OEMs provide a heavy UI layer over Android and have loads of bloatware (i.e. apps that not everyone use every day, but you cannot remove because they're "baked in" by default). Since AOKP is built upon vanilla Android source, it has neither of the above.
Also AOKP has features that you will not find on your stock firmware. You can have a multitude of toggles to quickly flip a lot of your phone's settings right at your fingertips, or you can launch apps quickly from any screen using our Ribbons.
You can change almost each and every aspect of the OS, from its looks to the way it functions, with total freedom. And did we tell you, AOKP helps you make tacos?

Good rom ? The lower rom expect stock this device can reach to : 4.4 . Lower rom will always have better battery , smooth and faster than newer rom :silly::silly:
Another idea ? LOS 12.1 , also a good choice for you .

AOSP+CAF=Awesome ROM.
Always Loved AOSP. CAF optimization makes it even better if possible add led control and basic settings.
Is this ROM OMS supported
rohitjaiswal said:
Yes it is like Pure Aosp and i have made this for everyone's get experience it. But it has no customisation so users are less in numbers to use this rom. I will not update it. But will make some aosp rom which has basic features.

Please update for those who love aosp
I also have to agree I would like for you to keep updating this rom. A lot of the roms out are linage and featured packed already. This is refreshing as it's snappy and light, not bloated with too many features that are there but never get used, just the bare minimum. Flashed open gapps stock package and now it practically feels like a Nexus device.

Good to see first AOSP-CAF ROM for Le2.
I assume it is completely independent of LOS, but I wonder why we have same common issues of flashlight and camera
xposed is not there (or fully supported) for Android N yet, so not many would be interested to use pure AOSP-CAF. But as you said, you can make a custom based on AOPS-CAF to have few customizations that many people like

THANK YOU very much. Finally something for this phone.I only have 1 question . If I download a movie in my phone,I can't transfer it into my PC ?I hope you find the solution to the MTP bug .Personally I do not care about the compass.
Pro tip : Developer options > Select runtime > Use ART
This will produce even snappier performance & improved battery life.

You can easily bypass the issue by using Wifi file transfer.
Personally, I never use MTP these days as I'm just too lazy! XD

yes thank you its finally here i really want to try that but i will wait for RIL to be fixed thank you very much
I install with mini gapps pie. The sim does not go, so neither calls nor data. It gets pretty hot when loading and downloading apps but it's very, very fluid ... the most. 100% pixel interface. I have installed my 100 apps on the cloud drive via WiFi and they work well with the ones I have tried with screen overlay ... good keyboards. File manager good.
The camera does not detect sd or sd ext, but files can be moved between sd and sd ext. The gallery is fast mega to upload and I have about 5 thousand photos and a hundred videos ....
Does not work: Slide finger on sup bar for brightness, Change side clock, Dark mode, change icons, sim for calls and data, The brightness very high to the minimum, some togles do not respond and the night mode I do not see it ....
.... Thanks for the work and wanting to have a final version! I hope it helps the devs.
Still missing, .. to this rom and PIE will improve the Android experience .... Thanks!

Just be patient
Haggertk is main dev primarily for s5 device , s5 also don't have SIM card working yet on pie. So as soon it get fixed there it will be fixed on note 3 as hardware wise s5/note 3 have basically same hardware.
I come from earlier version of OS 16,
When I flash it from TWRP, It complaint about device name error with 7
I also changed my build.prop file to make them match but it is still having the same issue

haggertk is one of only two active developers for both klte and hlte. Both developers work on both devices. Especially considering that the two share libril (in msm8974-common), when it is fixed it will be simultaneously fixed for both.
how can i build it myself?
