I have been experiencing a rather annoying bug on my S6. After unlocking the screen, sometimes the status bar will not pull down. This happens about 1/5 unlocks. I have to lock the screen again and then unlock for it to work again. Since the status bar is usually the first thing I use after unlocking, this becomes a real pain. I was hoping that the recent update would fix this, but it's still happening.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I couldn't find anything on the forums or Google.
Shameless self bump. I think I may be the only one having this issue. Can't find a mention of it anywhere on the interwebs. Looks like I might have to try a factory reset, or an exchange if it comes down to it. Ugh
Looks like I'm not the only one. I also posted this over on the AT&T forum and someone else voted that they have this problem too. I wonder if it's only happening on the AT&T variant.
Looks like I'm going to have to factory reset. I was hoping more people would at least vote on the poll -.-
Wireless charging possible cause
It seems like this issue only happens if you use wireless charging. I did a factory reset on the phone and used it for a couple weeks with AC charging and I did not have this issue. As soon as I tried wireless charging again, the issue came right back.

Hey,
So last night my Sensation was on charge when I received an email. When I tried to unlock the phone the screen didn't activate but the lights for the buttons at the bottom did. I tried a few times but was unsuccessful, though luckily a hard reset seemingly fixed the problem.
Has anyone else had this issue? I've already contacted Orange and they said they'll replace the handset.
I recorded a quick (and pretty poor quality ) video on my old BlackBerry that I might try and put up on youtube later.
probobly the launcher is loading or force closed. im not sure though, it happened to me too
Happened to me once so far
Hm, probably something that will be fixed in a future update then?... Still, might get a new handset anyway - I may see some improvements in battery at least.
I'm having a very strange problem with my Charge. It seems like pretty much every other time I unlock my phone, a color from the RGB spectrum is missing. Which in turn causes the screen to be a weird shade of blue, green or red. I can lock and unlock the phone again and it will be totally normal, but as I stated above, it seems like it's happening quite a lot more often here recently, and I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem? I know I'm going to call Verizon tonight or tomorrow and see about getting a replacement because it's definitely not a software issue that I can see.
I had that happen once, and only once. However, it hasn't happened since then, so I'm pretty sure it was software related. Have you done a hard reset yet? If not, you need to do that to rule out a software issue. You need to try it for a bit in that clean state before loading 3rd party software to confirm.
I have the same problem, which just started this morning. When I woke up and looked at my phone, as it unlocked, sometimes it had a bluish or greenish tint. This would appear intermittently as I unlocked my phone.
I searched the internet, and found other instances of this happening as well.
I restarted my phone, and the problem hasn't returned since. Something to keep an eye on, but I'm hoping it's not hardware related, but rather software related (and can be fixed with a reboot).
Mko.
I had that happen a couple times. I have not seen it in a long time but it is software related. I could get it to do it a whole lot one day and after a reboot it never happened again.
I've never had this happen to me but I heard the Fascinate had a problem with the screen since amoled was still being developed, you can just attempt what these others have tried(factory reset, reboot, etc)

For me when I unlock the phone it does a black screen with lines for a second, pretty much 5 out of 10 times I unlock my phone. I've already got a replacement charge,so my old one and the new one do it. I'm sending my phone to Samung because Verizon has sent me two charges with scatches on the screen, one also has a dead pixel.
Only had the weird color thing happen once upon unlocking several weeks ago. Locked and unlocked it again and it was normal again. Haven't had it happen again.

I had this happen to me pretty consistently when. I tried running GummyCharged GBE. Rebooting didn't work for me, so I went back to GummyCharged FE, and that's what solved the problem for me, but it's possible that reflashing GBE may have done the trick too. I never tried that because I thought the issue was related to the ROM.

Well I called Verizon, and while they didn't have it listed as a known issue, I was told to reboot because it was more than likely a software issue. I did just that and haven't had this happen since.
Having said that, I noticed something else, the screen was at a different brightness nearly every time I unlocked it and it wasn't a funny color. Either full on 100% or dim as could be, never anywhere in between. I also stumbled upon an article from a lesser known tech site that suggested that the auto-brightness function was indeed the culprit. Seems to make perfect sense given what I saw. I've had this happen once in a blue moon before the other day, and as others stated after a lock/unlock all was well, but this was a different experience altogether. Hopefully this software problem can be fixed with an update (GB maybe? Probably right as they release Ice Cream Sandwich...).
As a side note my screen also does the gray lines once in a while, just 2 or 3 down the whole length of the screen for a split second before an unlock. Seems like it's not an issue so far.
I've had a completely black screen--my lockscreen will flash and just go black, but sliding where the normal unlock would be turns on the display to Home. Kind of odd, and I've only seen it twice.

Does anyone know what the DIP switch located in the transformer is for? The only thing I found is a post mentioning a different wifi setup.
My experience messing with it is that the transformer won't turn on when it is in the up position unless the tablet is plugged into its charger.
Please see post 7 for the issue I am experiencing and how the Dip switch is involved.

If I overlooked something I would appreciate a push in the rite direction. Or is that all the info there is?
Off the top of my head, I thought it was the switch that disables the battery? Somewhere, in a galaxy far, far away, there is a thread, and buried deep in that that thread, someone speculated that the ASUS techs use that switch to shunt the battery when they service bricked TFs so that the flux capacitor doesn't blow up and send us all back to the 80s. OK, maybe that's a bit of a strech, but I do think it has something to do with the battery.

Its use is still unknown, but at least the post confirms the behavior that the OP is seeing.

Nice! Especially the Back to the Future reference. Allow me to explain my situation and why I am so interested in that tiny switch.
I purchased my Transformer from Newegg back in July or August. It was an open box and I saved around $150 because of that. Unfortunately that means it only had a 1 month warranty, this brings us to my problem. It runs great but every once in a while a lot of the apps, including the browser, will force close. Also if I go in to settings once this problem starts and shut off the WiFi and then try to turn it back on it just says error. Trying to turn on Bluetooth also does not work.
The solution is to reboot, however, it will only run for a short while before the problem returns. I have tried the stock rom rooted and unrooted, I have tried various roms, revolution, prime, revolver. After flashing a rom or doing a factory reset the transformer will run for around 12 hours without the above mentioned problem but it always comes back and it happens more and more frequently until I do a factory reset.
I have tried countless things. Various roms as mentioned, factory resets, freezing as much as I can using titanium backup, not adding a Google account, turning off gps, different wireless networks, assigning a static ip address, using ExtSd2InternalSd v2.1 to install apps on an sd card. All of this with no success.
Enter that dip switch. I decided since my warranty was over I would open it up and do some poking around. I discovered if I put that switch in the up position and boot the transformer with it plugged into the charger it runs perfectly stable. The issue is gone. only problem is that I can only use it plugged in. This situation lead me to the conclusion that it is a power supply issue, maybe a defective battery (Not getting the full 1.21 gigawatts . So.... I switched out the battery in my dock with the one in the transformer and put the dip switch in its original down position..... No Luck, the problem persisted. Return the switch to up and plug it in, runs great.
Anyone have an idea?
How does it run while the switch is down (in the crappy position) and plugged in?

The problem is still there. I even tried it in the down position with the battery disconnected and the transformer plugged into the charger but the problem continued.
I guess it could be a power/hardware issue or maybe a sleep/software issue. Perhaps it doesn't sleep while it's plugged in?
Regardless, it's quite an interesting problem.
gee one, thanks for your help. Maybe someone will come up with a fresh idea, I have tried most of what I can think of.
I might try the dual boot Ubuntu thing to see if I have the problem in Ubuntu. I figure that mite help narrow down if it is a software or hardware problem. I lean towards hardware because I have not been able to find others with this issue. Then again, maybe others that have had this problem had a warranty and returned it for an exchange.

Forgot to mention, I tried setting the screen to never shut off in hopes that it would prevent the transformer from sleeping. Not sure if there is another way to prevent it from sleeping? Whatever the case leaving the screen on did not prevent the problem from surfacing.
Install ROM Manager and tell it to Fix Permissions?
I've had extensive FCs on some devices I've rooted and fixing the permissions has helped.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately I have cwm installed and have ran fix permissions and while it did help with some of the apps force closing it did not fix my problem.
I was about to ask where this switch was at because I've never seen it, then I read that it's inside the unit. I have no reason to crack this bad boy open yet so that's why I had no idea about it.
It is a battery kill switch, makes it easier to work on without blowing the **** out of the unit by bridging the wrong points on the board for what ever reason. basically with the switch up it is a "service mode"

Hello guys,**
Well few days ago I accidentally dropped my Nexus 5 in a glass of water for just 1 sec. So I immediately switched it off and wait a bit to let dry then restarted it, and all seemed to work fine. But just some days later and up to now the phone boots up all fine as usual to the lock screen, and from there I can pull down the notification bar (and navigate through it, activate/deactivate wifi, etc..) but when I unlock it to get to the home screen it becomes all back and nothing appears on the screen even though the phone is still on.*
It's really confusing and weird. When I call the phone it rings (so no signal or sound problem) but I can't still access the screen to take the call as it's all back and unresponsive.
Following some suggestions I disassembled the phone and cleaned it dry but same results again! So now I think the problem is somehow related to the motherboard, coz as you might notice on some of the pictures attached, it seems that some plastic parts have melt down to cover other smaller parts. Anyway guys,*I'm just wondering if some of you guys had experienced something like that and if you were luckier*to find a solution or any directives that could help. Or you even think that's a motherboard problem like, do you know any ways to fix that o buy a new one somewhere??
PLEASE!!
Sorry apparently, I can't publish links until I get like 10 posts or plus..
But anyway guys, I'd really appreciate your help.
Why did you power it on and short circuit it on purpose for??
Bump
@SekouCheikh
Maybe it's a coincidence that you dropped it in water and this happened a few days later. Once in a blue moon mine does something similar to this (although not usually as start up only after lots of use), but I think it's related to an app or xposed. I only notice it after installing a bunch of crap again. Maybe try a factory reset (do it though the computer) just to see if it is somehow not hardware related? That's what I would try first.
Help please
Ttt
Wait... Are you seriously posting from 2 different accounts??
<...>
First, simply try to factory reset or flash a new rom. There is not enough evidence to be sure it's a hardware problem, it could just as well be a coincidence that it started happening just now.

I'm experiencing a weird issue, pretty much since I got the phone last summer where the status bar is pulled down automatically when I unlock the phone. It's not all the way down but just a tiny bit, but it's very frustrating. I have experienced this since Android 9 and not even multiple factory resets during the time I've owned the phone has fixed the issue.
Has anyone else experienced this and maybe have a solution?
