so i got the 5.1.1 update yesterday and the phone been much faster and with less lags .
also something that i have noticed is in Developer options there is "Enable OEM unlock" option now.
does that means that the bootloader is unlockable now?

I'm not sure about battery life yet but it's faster

Got the update on my Korean F510S but the battery life has been horrible, especially when falling back to 3G/WCDMA: down to 29% within 3 hours, with constant CPU usage of at least 30%. The phone is pretty much unusable at the moment.

oem unlock should give us access to fastboot oem unlock command. I dont believe LG let us to do that so someone has to test and confirm.
Nothing in Sweden yet either
anybody with 5.1.1 tried the fastboot oem unlock? I hope the procedure is the same as nexus,5 oneplus one etc(android sdk-platform tools)

I do notice an optimized used of OSB in Apps and games that previously was kind of truncated by the OSB causing it a non-full-screen game play. :good:

You would need to get your hands on a 10e kdz for this device then follow this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50703054&postcount=1. I'm not sure if anyone's posted one here yet, I'm new to this device. I only got it yesterday.

Let me know how you get on and I would be interested in what other issues that you have. I don't have any and I am on the same device/network as you.
We could probably re-enable lte from the hidden settings menu if we could find out the correct number to dial for this and, if not, root and an amendment in the build prop would probably work but, root looks a bit complicated at the moment. In saying this, I don't see why we should have to be addressing this ourselves but I don't expect this is something EE will assist with as this device is not for our network/country officially.

I installed it on my mums phone.. It's pretty good. Did a wipe cache after that flash.. At first the battery drain was a little steep with 35 mins of sot with 75% remaining.. Now its settled and is deep sleeping.. It'll take a few cycles to settle..tbh I don't know why a lot of users are complaining about lag.. If the force gpu rendering is disabled in dev options its very smooth.. She does light usage only.. web browsing, messaging (WhatsApp, fb and sms), calls and a little bit of gaming so heating was never an issue..

As it says, its beta rom.. this is updated weekly (usually).. might have bugs/more battery drain etc but its intended more for people who can report bugs and for those who want more regular updates.. if you like to be ahead of the curve then you can use that.. 5.7.13 is the latest i think.. it refers to the date 13/7 i.e 13th of july..

This is the answer for all who is asking about much battery drain. U can see the deep sleep of phone. This stat is from 58% of battery to 47%
Seems there's still battery drain. How about charging issues? I rolled back to 6.5.6 from 6.6.1 because there were too many problems and i don't want to face them again.
Anybody has the link to the OTA, I do not want to download the whole 860mb ROM (FUP policies)

I don't know what is new. It says no changelog. It says funkyhuawei reddit page:
<<The unreleased MHA-L29C185B172 build has been added to FunkyHuawei. An accurate changelog has not yet been released, but the expected differences are better touchscreen response, and less power consumption for longer battery life, similar to the Chinese B173 build.
Even if you have another Mate 9 model, you can rebrand to MHA-L29C185 and install the firmware, with FunkyHuawei.>>
But trying one day battery time maybe is improved. Here is screenshots.

Hi guys! How is the performance and battery life of this update B172? Thanks!
hi everyone.
two questions:
1: what is FF? is it another repository for firmwares? any links?
2: also, i don't understand the disapproval regarding fu***wei.. I tried installing TWRP on my Mate 9.. ended up almost bricking it.. (it was stuck in a bootloop and adb showed it as unauthorized.. I didn't know what todo)
I used the fu***wei method and although it was a little cumbersome.. (had to do it at home so I could modify the modem settings etc.)
it actually totally worked.. (took a while but it worked) The guy was super responsive too. (I guess I go thte time zones aligned just right to ask my questions but yeah, he'd respond within minutes of my e-mails..)
(btw, I came to this forum looking exactly for this model MHA-L29C185 I wish there were clearer instructions on how to do these things without paying etc but if there is a resource like this why knock it? i'm seriously curious)
Seems we're not

Not sure of custom roms but yeah, at least Oreo is confirmed for us! Can't wait to experience it.
Then? LG is notoriously bad at update software. Unless we have custom ROM the phone will become abandoned in 2 years for sure.., unless oreo update has treble then maybe some little hope
