If you didn't have it connected to either Dropbox or similar it won't work as far as. Backing up pictures by default. You would of had to have it selected within one of the apps first

The Note is a fully functional Android phone. Just use the Android market or any of the other markets like Amazon. Or you can side load with adb.

Connect your phone to wifi, start Market on phone, login with google account when asked and install apps.
When you log on Market from your phone, then phone is added on your google account and then you can use market site to install apps on your phone, but you must have internet connection on phone. I don't have antivirus on my phone and I don't have any problems...

Phone lost

Hello frnds urgent help needed , my phone lost galaxy ace its ringing but I can locate it is there any way I can locate it. itsringing please help me
Sent from my GT-S5360 using XDA
Samsung Dive , i tried it before , not bad , really can locate your phone if your phone in online mode
Some people just shouldn't own phones.
If you haven't setup an app like Samsung Drive or Seek Droid there is no way to locate it, unless you have friends who work for for your service provider or law enforcement.
There is an app called Plan B. You install it after youve lost your phone. you push it on your phone by logging in on google market. It really works. just remember to hurry while your battery is still good.

Using your computer, log in to the market. The new link for market is google play is play.google.com. Use your gmail info to log in. Search for the app "plan B". Click install. If you have more than one device registered it will ask which device to install/push the app to. Tell it to install on your lost phone.
It will download and it is supposed to send a location to your gmail account.
LOL. It must be a trap provided by Best Buy. Look at this from the first email from Plan B.
Holy Crap!!!! It worked.
It located my phone to within two meters. I was just testing it because my phone is in the living room and sitting on my coffee table. Plan B sent me a google map with a dot on my house!!! Then there was a link to click and it pulled up google streets and showed me a picture of my house!!!!
Good to know about this app!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, like greeky510 suggested above, try Lookout's Plan B.
Just click install on the webpage from your computer, and the app should be sent to your phone and activate itself. Then you should be able to track it.
i think you buy one new
Go to Police Station and told them about your lost phone and ask them to write a F.I.R. they will track your through IMEI number whenever a SIM will inserted in the phone. You will absolutely get your phone back.

Is it possible?

I was told that I can buy an app from the store, download it onto my phone, then download the same "paid" app for free on a friends phone for him without having to buy it again. Therefore have the app on both phones for the price of one?
I think it is possible but you have to log in your google account on his device.

Ah yes I see! So basically you'd have to leave your account on his phone because as soon as you log out all the apps disappear as well that you downloaded?

Exactly. At least that's how I think it works with Gingerbread. Not sure about Ice Cream Sandwich though.
There ars also exceptions: Some apps are bundled with the device IMEI. E.g. Navigon Mobile Navigator. On a new phone: Whether you use the same google account, you have to call the support to reactivate the software

[APP] Alarmpad : how to get it ?

Hi,
Are you guys able to access this application on google play store ?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mindmeapp.alarmpadpro
Whether I try with proxies or my own IP (Belgium), I always end up with a message from Google saying that the app is not available in my country.
I know that the developer stopped this project last year, but I am surprised not to be able to get it anywhere.
I also tried to download the apk for version 1.9 from various websites (free or pro version), and Windows Defender always reject the file stating that it's infected by a Trojan, so I start to wonder if this is a false positive or if Google detected the same and prevents the app from being accessible on the store or so ?
It's the first time that I am facing this situation, and I am very surprised and frustrated not to be able to buy this app which looks fantastic.
Let me know if you are facing the same problem or if you have a working APK backup
Thanks !
For those who are in the same situation and who may be looking for AlarmPad FREE, here is the APK of version 1.9.3 (I believe it's the last).
I am still looking for a way to buy the PRO version, and for now the only solution seems to be in the USA :/
I'm in the USA, and can't find this app in play store.

Thank you for the information Henry, then I have no clue where this app is available nowadays (it looks like it was widely available in the past).
Note that it appears that my previous apk downloads which were detected by Windows Defender as trojan were false positive since the same file does not trigger the warning anymore.
Too bad I can't simply by the pro version

Unfortunately even when installing the pro version from your post with the mindme pro key, it does not detect it as "PRO" (features are restricted as in FREE version).
I have the same behavior with this PRO apk which is the latest version I found.
I tried to contact the developer to know why his app is not available from the PlayStore anymore, but I did not received any answer so far :/

I'm in the UK (used to live in the USA) and I couldn't visit the alarmpro page, but I could visit here and download the app to register it.

Old thread but I have the pro version. Don't know how the powers-that-be would feel about me sharing the apk. The developer has stopped providing support for this app and the backup service (which is why I bought it) doesn't work anymore.

Hello ParrotSquawk,
Thank you very much for the offer Actually I posted the pro apk here some time ago thinking it would not be a problem since there was no way to buy it anymore and development stopped as well, but the moderators didn't appreciate that...
For info even with the pro apk you cannot access the pro features, it somehow checks on google play if you bought it and locks it to free version.
I gave up on alarmpad for that reason. I wanted to use it because of its tasker integration, but ended up using ClockTask plugin. Not exactly the same thing but also very well integrated with tasker.
Cheers !
I don't know how much help this is, I was worried that I would need to find an alternative when i upgraded my 3½ year old S7 Edge to my Note 10 +.
Thankfully, despite being no longer available, it transferred over through SmartSwitch and is working fine except for the sign in/backup feature.
That said, does anyone else know of any other app that works like AlarmPad? It is a must for me as I'm on shift work and EVERY duty is different.
Old thread..but...
My biggest issue with this app currently is that the data can't be backed up anymore. If I reset my phone I have to create all the alarms and hashtags again. (My phone does not have root available).
If someone could recode it to backup and restore using an SD card ... That would be great.

Royole FlexiPi - The First Unfoldable Phone - [Discussion Thread]

Hi dears,

Mine was OK, the SIM card holder tip broke off but can still insert a SIM card. I have tried many different things. I used the Chinese app to download something called "Go" when I open the app, I see Royole and references to Play store. I still cannot get it to work. I tried to create a Royole account (no luck still).
I use my Huawei phone to convert the Chinese to English (camera/hivision). They have FAQs in the app, and it implies I needed to disable two factor authentication but it doesn't work still.
I hooked up the FlexPai to ADB/Logcat to see the debug messages and I see security exceptions. So I fear we may need to root (and this is outside of my expertise).
I use the web versions of google apps as a temp workaround (outlook for email). Some apps work some apps don't.

Hi, Ive got some google functuonality installed on my flexpai (google maps is ok, playstore working but no possibility to sign in)
I am looking to install the google account apk for pie. You should have to install manually some google apk and for pie!!!
com.google.android.gms_17.1.91_(100400-247666647)-17191037_minAPI28(arm64-v8a,armeabi-v7a)(nodpi)_apkmirror.com.apk

google-play-services-16-1-53-000300-242560017.apk
Hi looks promising.
In your list of 3 apks two of them are actually the same "app" just different versions
com.google.android.gms is the same as Google Play Services.
You need this one
com.google.android.gsf_9-4832352-28_minAPI28(nodpi)_apkmirror.com.apk
plus this version of Google maps
com.google.android.apps.maps_10.16.1-1016101040_minAPI21(arm64-v8a,armeabi-v7a,x86,x86_64)(nodpi)_apkmirror.com.apk
AND IT WORKS!!! great work.
I can't log in but maps works otherwise.
maybe we need to latest google account manager - looking into it.
thanks
I found an account manager for Android Pie but no luck.
I look at logs in ADB - and it seems there are permissions that are not granted
nable to get provider com.google.android.gsf.settings.GoogleSettingsProvider: java.lang.SecurityException: You need MANAGE_USERS permission to: get the profile parent
I tried to grant using ADB shell but cannot.
So in an area I don't have expertise on.
I see we can unlock our bootloader so potential for other ROMs and root to address these issues

Thanks a lot !!! I will use some tips on the sharp aquos S2 forum where @heineken78 xda member was successfull to give gapps to chinese models and to optimize romes with treble or not
Quick update,
Just installing this one APK
com.google.android.gms_17.1.91_(100400-247666647)-17191037_minAPI28(arm64-v8a,armeabi-v7a)(nodpi)_apkmirror.com.apk
then issue these two command from adb:
adb shell pm grant com.google.android.gms android.permission.INTERACT_ACROSS_USERS
adb shell pm grant com.google.android.gms android.permission.READ_LOGS
helps a lot.
Apps like flipboard, sirius etc now work (when they didn't before).
Apps not working for me still: pushover, textnow and the google apps (where I need to login).
thanks
Adrian

With many attempts, no. I even tried to root and this was unsuccessful. What did work so I could get some apps onboard was downloading the apk for Amazon app store. Finally have YouTube and other apps for viewing video content and some cool games.

this sounds like such a HUGE disappointment. My set is arriving within a week and i intended for it to be my main phone driveer.
For youtube, could you login to your google account?

Yes, I could load my Gmail and YouTube by signing in. I had intentions as well to use it as a daily device however I'm experiencing connectivity challenges with wifi and my data. Royole is supposed to be sending out an update soon to address some of the challenges we in North America are experiencing.

Yes it is unlikely one can use this as their main phone, but it's close.
Google apps (or any other app) that needs to login (locally on device) will not work.
For the Youtube (Version from the Amazon store), the login is cloud based (so it works).
One can use Chrome to login to Google photos, GMail, Drive, etc (as the login is Cloud based).
For an alternative to Google Maps, try MapQuest.
Interestingly the Microsoft Apps work really well (Launcher, Cortana, OneNote & other office apps).
For Apps like Flipboard use an email account (not Google account).
See my above post on the Google Services APK to get other apps working.
Here is why I cannot use as my Main Daily Driver. I depend on apps like Pushover (doesn't work at all), Paid Google Play Store apps (PocketCasts), Some Banking Apps (it detects the Flexpai as "non compliant'), Google Assistant (I really depend on that as a developer), Some Widgets (Currency), Android Wear (Watch while I haven't tested It depends on Play Services), Focals (Smart Glasses), Duo, TextNow, Feedly.
It is a good preview to what a Huawei Phone without Google Play Store/Services will be like : )
I use it as a second device (Foldable Tablet) and I find it quite usable.

I just got update 1.0.27 a couple of days ago (It was huge just over 1.7 GB). I am in Toronto (Rogers). I don't have any connectivity issues though for Wifi I find it weak on 5 Ghz, but LTE is not bad.
Can you confirm you are able to login to GMAIL using the android app (or did you mean via a browser)?
thanks
