[Q] Birthdays displayed twice? - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
i sync my contacts via a Exchange Account. Contacts on Google are disabled completely. If i go now to S-Planer, enable "My Calendars", i could enable afterwards "Birthdays of my Contacts". If i do this, i see all Birthdays twice in S-Planer. If i disable "Birthdays of my Contacts" i get no Birthdays in S-Planer. Is there a way to see only one entry or do i something wrong?

[Q] Contacts Sync Problem

Hi,
I just got my phone 2 days ago and trying to get my gmail contacts to my phone. I have configured my gmail account in my phone by going into settings --> Accounts & Sync and adding an Account. I have chosen only Contacts (not mail or calendar).
Now when I open up Contacts app and go into the Menu to View --> "gmail account" and select the group I want it to display, only a partial list of my contacts are displayed. For example, I have 99 contacts in gmail group, I am able to view only about 15 or so of them on the phone.
I have tried syncing up several times but kinda hit the wall now.
Appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks in advance
Are you only seeing contacts that have phone numbers? Or do all 99 have phone numbers?
Atleast about 70 of them have phone numbers.
The issue got fixed when I did a factory reset and reentered the google account information again. This is not a good thing but did get the job done.

sync problem

Hi all,
I have a strange sync problem with my HTC Trophy. I have normal contacts and facebook contacts. In the people options menu
I checked the "only add facebook information to existing contacts" box.
But when I want to send a text message to someone my facebook contacts are still in the "choose a contact" menu.
To make it even weirder only some facebook contacts appear.
And yes you can't delete them manually from that menu.
Anyone has a solution ?
I am having the same problem. i reset my phone and everything just in case, and that didnt fix it.

Manage Phone List

What is up the the list of contacts when using the phone or messaging? I can manage under Contacts|settings|view exactly what contacts I want to see; however, when using the phone or messaging, the Sensation presents EVERY contact without a way to adjust. In my situation I use Exchange Activesync to gather my work emails, and despite unchecking sync contacts, they all show up in my phone list.......who the heck wants to sort through a thousand contacts to make a phone call. Thoughts or ideas?
I have some similar problem. I sync with both Exchange Activesync and Google/Gmail and some of my contacts have an entry in both. In my lists of contacts they're perfectly coupled and reduced to one entry, but in the messaging app the contacts show up double again.
I already had contact with HTC Benelux, but their first 'solution' was to remove one of the entries manually. But that's no option for me. I replied to them, but they have not reacted yet.
Strange thing is with the mail app everything is ok.

To get rid of this in messaging, there are 3 options you need to turn off.
Go to messaging.... settings... general... and turn off "Show sent message history", "Show call history" and "show email address". Or a combination of the three if you'd like.
In contacts, you should check the option in settings that says "Only with phone number". As long as your email contacts don't have phone numbers, they won't show up in the contacts list.
I hope I'm understanding your issues and that this information helps.

Problem with contacts sync

Hi,
I've noticed that my contacts are not able to sync with google. This never was a problem till the time I rooted and eventually started flashing ROMs.
I simply try to sync contacts by :
Contacts --> Accounts--> sync contacts , gmail etc--> the sync finishes but no numbers are synced.
The usual gmail account info comes up but without the phone numbers.
Any inputs people?

Contact Sync Issue

Hey guys, for some reason when I try to sync my gmail contacts with my gmail it simply won't work. It shows a little sync symbol for half a second and then nothing.
Fixed it, I just removed my gmail account and re-added it.
Make sure the contacts on your phone are marked as "google contacts" and not "phone contacts" or "SIM contacts." It's a stupid thing that they've done, but basically your contacts won't sync to google unless they're individually marked as "google contacts."
