Download folder - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey ,it is passible to set up my custom folder to download without root access in google chrome(or maybe u know browser with give me that possibility) ? Generally i wanna to files get downloaded to sd card ,not smartphone memory.

Without root, I don't think there's a way for 3rd Party Apps to access the SD card directly. You would have to root and install ES File Explorer, then use it to download the files instead of Chrome when it prompts you.

First Thing Is First, You Do Know That There Is No Root Folder Right?
Second, When You Go To Settings > Storage What Does It Say?
when i go to settings. it shows me sd card.. when i go to sd card setting, it gives me two options..
1st Option : format the sd card
2nd Option: unmount the card.
this phone doesnt show me any folder to go to sd card.. or any root folder....
Do you have a file explorer installed? For example: ES file explorer, Astro file explorer, Linda file explorer. All these can be found on the Android market. Hope this helps.

directory of files downloaded from the market,(both sd card and phone memory)

Well some of you might be wanting to know where the files download from the market are stored. The needs may be many. You might want to send the files via bluetooth or back them up just in case the phone gets wiped. Here is the directory of the apps downloaded from the market.
Requirements:
1)root access on your mobile device.
2)root explorer installed on the device.
Apps in the the phone memory:
In root explorer, go to data>app. Here you will find all the apps installed on the phone memory which had been downloaded from the market.
Apps on the sd card:
Again in root explorer go to mnt>asec. here all the files installed on the sd card will be in their respective folders by the name of pkg.apk
I hope this helps!!!

[Q] Install apps to USB Storage??

I want to save space and have sd card, pendrive and an otg cable, now how can I get the phone to install large apps to the usb storage by default?
There's an end of stupidity my dear friend. If you want to save space you can even move your other files to USB.
Nevertheless, if you're willing to do so. Here is the procedure.
1. Install Root explorer. (It's a paid app on play store)
2. Install all your apps as usual.
3. Through Root explorer, go to /data/apps folder and move all the *.apk you would like to have on your USB.
4. Then manually long click on each .apk and choose to create a link and link it to /data/apps/(here)
5. Take care every time you boot your phone you must have your USB connected otherwise the link would break and you'd have to relink them. Don't do this for Moor than 10 apps which have a size of at least 20MB.

ES File Mgr Issue With SD

I'm using ES File Manager to copy files from my computer to a new Note PRO. I can copy files to the internal storage but I can't copy to the external SD. Also, I cannot use ES File Manager to move files from internal storage to the SD. I can use the stock file manager to move files between internal and SD. So the questions are:
1) Can ES File Manager be made to copy files to the SD card?
2) If not, then can the stock file manager access Windows devices to copy files from the computer to the SD?
Likely the Kitkat SD write permission issue. See here:

Yep, that looks like it. Thank you. I'm not ready to root yet to solve the issue. I was not able to tell if this is a bug or by design. It's pretty limiting.
Still trying to figure out if the built-in file manager can be used to copy from a Windows computer to the SD card.
If you connect your tablet to your windows PC you should be able to access internal and external sdcard. They will show up as separate drives. If they don't, install Kies 3 then connect your tablet again.

I was hoping to get this done using wi-fi just for the convenience. It is something I did with previous devices. It always surprised when a basic feature goes away.
If you have an FTP server installed on your PC, My Files app can pull your files that way, then save them to external sdcard
ES File Explorer implemented the workaround within the first few days of KitKat's release. I've been using it to move files in all directions to and from my MicroSD on my Note 3, S5 and NotePro for months without issue. The main thing that doesn't work is renaming.
However, the WiFi transfer to MicroSD has been blocked by Google for security reasons after a series of WiFi-related file security problems. No file manager is capable of this without Root. Same as how you can no longer download files off the internet directly onto the MicroSD.
It's much faster to just pull out the MicroSD and plug it into a PC, anyway. The transfer protocols on Android are a nightmare.

How can I install Titanium Backup on a 16gb nvidia shield Tv 2015 after root?

How can I install Titanium Backup in my nvidia Shield TV 2015 with update 5.1 installed? When I try to install it from Google playstore it says that it is not compatible with my device. Any one know why it says that? I hear other people talking about it on their Shield TV. Please help me understand this. Thank you.
I can download it on my PC and then acess my SD card and copy and paste it on the SD card. Then I open ES explorer and open SD card and then I can install it from there but I can only run Titanium Backup from ES explorer and when I want to use Titanium backup I must install it every time from the SD card through ES Explorer. WTF?
Also if I try to install Google Drive or Dropbox from Google Playstore it says they are incompatible with my device and so it wont let me download them. But I can download them to my PC and then copy the apps to my shield SD card and install them through ES Explorer but when I close ES Explorer The I must Reinstall them everytime I want to use them ..WTF?
