Hi,
is there any way how to check which app has allready granted SD card write permission?
I mean when i grant permission for few apps like total commander, file explorer etc, and then i want to see all apps with granted permissions and be able to decline sd write when the app was allready granted to write whole sd..
Thanx, Vitek.

All of a sudden now since I put in a new SD card into my tablet I can't seem to grant write permission to apps, or more I can't see the card in the window to give permission to grant it. When it takes me to the window to grant permission all it has on the left is recent and internal storage, going into the menu on the right it's already set to show SD card, selecting hide SD card hide internal storage, so basically it's acting like the internal storage is the SD card and there is no SD card. my tablet is not rooted and is running the latest software update available.
rooting the tablet will allow you to fix it easily. the exSD problem has been around for awhile.
one of the easiest ways to do it is to install a free app that does it for you. (then uninstall if you have no plans to use it)
TWRP manager and Foldermount come to mind, they will both fix the SD issue autoamagically when you first run them.
you can not fix this issue, to my knowledge, without root permissions.
At this point don't want to go thru everything for rooting till after they push out Marshmallow to the tablet. What I don't get though is why it's a not working correctly now, giving apps write permission worked totally fine before when I had my old 32gb SD card in there, it just won't let me grant permission to the new 64gb card.
When the file explorer (other than stock) wants to access sd card it tells me to grant access. But then when I get to the screen when I am supposed to do that there is nothing to select. Any ideas ?
OK I managed to have the options appear by switching to different app and back.
Marshmallow has a really good SD card access solution, but it only works if apps are told to use the DocumentProvider.
Solid Explorer and Titanium Backup can use the DocumentProvider access, but all other apps that I have don't request SD access, they just try it without DocumentProvider - and fail.
How can I manually do this?
Hi there ,
I recently installed FX File Explorer. I'm trying to write to my SD card but it won't allow me to. I know that Android by default doesn't allow apps to write to anything but the default internal storage. So I'm trying to give FX the permission to write to the SD card but I can't find the setting at all. Can anyone help me ?
do you use any kind of themes , i encoudered same issue after changing theme , its normal
also u can give permissions in app properties
Did you try another explorer?
Sent from my Honor 8 using XDA Labs
First I explain that I test 2 different SD cards and I formated it from phone.
I can use for photos and videos, Camera software can write on it without problem. My Files can write and delete too.
The problem is certain apps can't write on SD with an error message that said "SD isn't writable. AppMonsterPro can't write on it. FileSync that I use to backup daily photos, docs,... can't write on it. Movistar + app (streaming that you can save for later) can't write on it.
I really desesperate and I don't know how to solve it. Any help is welcome.
Just a thought, have you given these apps permission to write to the SD card?

Click to collapse
Really they haven't this option
Some apps, for example Root Explorer, first time that you try to write on SD you have to give permission or go to SD and select so framework authorice it.
I was thinking more in the line of going to app settings and try setting it there.
