Using the charger in the box charges my phone in an hour. When you plug your phone in, does it say fast charging in the notification bar?

It says "cable charging"

If you are using the original charger and cable it might be faulty or maybe the phone port is faulty. Either way you should try a different charger.
Its supposed to say fast charging.

Can't charge my phone!

Hi,
I've recently bought a Sony Xperia ZR refurbished. It was really smooth and all, then suddenl it stopped working. It turned out it was the battery which was empty. I bought a new official sony battery, and the same thing happened to me, but I had the time to take those screens.
I've tried charging it offline, while turned on, with fast chargers, with a sony official charger... I don't know what I can do next!
Thanks in advance for every answer or piece of answer you can post.

A lot of people seem to have this problem and it seems to be the usb charging board that is faulty, some said that changing the charging board fixed the issue for them You should try wiping cache in recovery or even a factory reset before you opt for swapping the board.
Or go for an external charger.
But what about the temperature sensor that shows -30°C? Is it linked with the usb charging board or is it something else?*
And I can only find micro usb ports, not the entire charging board for my device... Do you think there is a way?
I've already done a factory reset before flashing a CM rom so it must not be in cache.
I have some new informations that might be helpful!
First, when I turn on the phone, it always starts at 6% then slowly grow until the real %. Is it then a hardware or a software issue?
Also, friday, I let the phone charging through saturday within offline mode. The battery was still to 20%. However, I charged it again sunday morning for 30-40mn and it was filled to 60%! (the higher % I ever get)
I don't know if it can help...

How charge Mate 8 normally instead of quick charge?

Hi.
There was a (little big) charger inside phone box and there is " HUAWEI QUICK CHARGE " label on it.
When I charge my phone with this charger it will get hot and fully charge takes about 45 min.
Now how can I have a normal charge instead of quick charge?
I couldn't find any option in the phone to switch between normal charge and quick charge.
Here some details of the charger:

Thanks.
"When I charge my phone with this charger it will get hot and fully charge takes less that 40 min."
This of course is completely impossible
Any way, how can I charge my phone normally?
Just use a normal wall charger, I'm using my old LG charger while charging at night ... you don't need to set quickcharge or something else ...
Or use a crappy usb-cable. Or simply keep on using Fast Charge, which doesn't overheat the phone, here, at all.
So there isn't any problem if I charge Mate 8 with my Xperia Sp or other charger? (OUTPUT : 5.0 VDC - 850mA)
Why there isn't an option to switch between normal and quick charge? (That's too bad).
No, there's no problem when using a different charger.
Why do you want an option? I dont understand ... what would be the benefit of such an option?
Quick charger would damage battery in long usage, wouldn't it?
nope
OK.
Thanks.

same problem
Hello. I have exactly the same problem for a few days. I tried different cables and chargers. I tried to reset the phone. the problem is still here. I thought the problem came from the battery but now that I see your post I think it could be a software bug ... or can be a planned obsolescence :-/
if you find a solution I'm waiting ...

Alternative N910 Battery Charger

Hi guys! Greetings
So since my phone hasn't able to do fast charging (and I did all possible available options, like use new cables, change the charger, changing the new flexy charge, clean the stock micro port USB on stock flexy charge, checked the settings to turn on the fast charging, bought a new battery with same capacity, and so on). And all these options don't solve my issue, I even went to repair shop which they only replace the flexy charge to a new one (they guarantee it is original and not some chinese-look-like).
But I had in my mind that something on my IC is damaged or has a faulty power management. Maybe. I've had discussion last month in this forum too. I'm frustrated with normal charging like I should wait for six hours to complete full battery. The math didn't do the right thing. If 3220 mAh divide by 1667 mA (I got this number from a stock Samsung charger), it should be around 2 hours. But apparently, I've come up with a new idea. I bought a desktop charger which comes like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
It needs to connect through an adaptor that outputs 1A. And connects it into the desktop with micro USB. It's practical and easy to use. It's a good accessories.
My questions is:
1) Do you guys know alternative charger that similar in this photo? Maybe that could output more than 1A. Or any other option, so I could charge my battery without plug it in my phone.
I don't like use extended battery that exceeds capacity of a stock battery. I fear that it could damage my phone for some reason

no fast or superfast chaging

as title says . have tried different cables and cleaned charging ports out on phone and charger ...thanks

As far as I know Samsung, change superfast charging and fast charging, a while back in an Firmware update, that only their Samsung branded charger will show superfast etc.
Other generic chargers, wireless etc wil show in an system toast, that it's not supported.
I might be wrong about this but, this is what i also personally experienced, when using generic chargers.
Good luck
i have the charger that came with the phone .it did say superfast charging on phone but no longer does
How clean is your port? 99% of the time it's due to lint stuck in and the plug not going in all the way. Clean it out with say a sewing needle. The bottom of the port is metal. Silver. If you see black or don't feel metal. It's dirty still.
Been a very common issue since type c ports came out on all devices
all ports are clean even with contact cleaner . just coming up to a year old
Superfast charging will show if you use Samsung 45W charger.

this is my charger that came with the phone it did fast and superfast charging
Not sure if you are on the beta or if the non beta has this option as the day I got my phone, I installed the beta but under battery, more settings you can turn on or off fast charging etc, that's not by chance switched off?
samsung told me to try this ...seams to be working again
I'm having the same problem. Please let me know if it solved and if so then how.
