Hi all,
Using a galaxy S4 here and I installed 4.4.2 via odin from 5.01 lollipop (because it takes to much ram) but also I tried to install 4.3 after successfully installing 4.4.2 with odin and for some reason it failed?
Both the firmwares (4.4.2 and 4.3) were downloaded from Sammobile and both are official vodafone firmwares, but only 4.4.2 works without a "fail". Also tried 4.2.2 (again officail from sammobile) and that was a fail also.
Any ideas? I did root the phone via odin using the "CF-Auto-root-jflte-jfltexx-gti-i9505.tar.md5" file then installed 4.4.2 but cant seem to install any older firmware from sammobile.
Am i missing something here?
Thanks
Hi there,
Once stock 4.3/4.4.2/5.x.x firmware is flashed, you can not downgrade to a previous version due to the new bootloader updated.

Hi,
I have a galaxy s5 (sm g900f) which is from France. The mobile got unlocked but what happened is the OS has been changed from lollipop to Kitkat and the mobile has been rooted also and the IMEI also changed. Now I want to install the android 5 in my mobile. Can any one plz suggest official stock firm ware (android 5- lolipop). I tried to find out but can't choose the one which supports my mobile. Can any one help me out of this.
The build number was : KOT49H.G900FXXU1ANJ1 and
baseband version is : G900FXXU1ANJ1.
Just use Odin to flash the firmware of your choice.
Search on how to use it, download the appropriate firmware, and flash it onto your device.
After all of these steps, you should be at the Android version that you want.
P.S. You will most likely find the firmware you want at sammobile(at least that was what I was using with my s3)
I originally had KitKat 4.4.2 rooted using towelroot, but I got tired of the ugly TouchWiz UI and wanted to try Lollipop. I successfully used the FlashFire method and flashed a pre-rooted Lollipop OF3 Stock ROM (DeOdexed) and I am using the OA1 Bootloader (I believe it's KitKat) which I flashed with Odin.
I would like to use Safestrap to flash the .zip required to use Xposed on Lollipop. I read that to get safestrap somewhat functioning, you have to flash a stock kernal to get it to boot into safestrap, flash your .zip, then flash another kernal to ensure that the phone actually boots after using safestrap.
I can't find a straightforward answer as to what kernals I should be using to do this for my specific phone and if it is even possible. I will list my phone's details below.
Thank you!
-AT&T Samsung Galaxy S5 G900A
-Lollipop 5.0 (Pre-rooted OF3 Stock ROM)
-G900A OA1 Bootloader (KitKat bootloader?)

I was using a CM12 ROM for my Galaxy S5 Sport (SM-G860P) but I decided to go back to the original Samsung way. I downloaded the stock TAR from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...t/stock-rom-galaxy-s5-sport-sm-g860p-t2951239 but when I installed it said "SW REV CHECK: [aboot]FUSED 2 > BINARY 1" or something like that. I've heard that it was because I can't downgrade from 5.1.1 to 4.4.2. Is it fine if I use a firmware from SamMobile and it will work? I will be using the OC5 firmware.
Thanks!
(sorry if it's a obvious question, new to ROMs)

Hello,
We don't recommend flashing a different region firmware into another one, it may cause issues and instability.
