[Q] Softbricked my S3 I535 - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I rooted my S3 I535 running Android 4.4.2 with towelroot and installed the SuperSu. Then I installed safestrap recovery, getting in recovery, I wiped the /data /cache /dalvik cache and the /system partition. After that I couldn't mount /system. Trying to flash an AOSP Lollipop ROM I got the error E could not mount /system. Anyways I rebooted the phone and now I can't get past the screen saying 'Samsung Galaxy SIII'
PLEASE HELP!

You can't install custom roms on the locked bootloader 4.4.2 NE1, so there's your problem as to what happened. You soft bricked the phone. You will have to use odin to flash back to stock NE1 and redo everything again

Did you try flashing the stock firmware image using fastboot (a guide for 4.1.1 is here, but applicable for any google image as such)
Once you flash the stock image, you can re-root and try flashing custom ROM's
I fixed it now all I did was unroot then root my phone again. Thanks for all the help and I will use these suggestions next time if this happens. Thank you all again thank you very very much.

Can you be a little more specific please? If I have cwm already, can I flash twrp over it without problems? Where do I fix permissions? Tnx in advance.
Sent from my XT1032 using Tapatalk
I haven't tried to flash twrp over cwm so I'm not sure. Fix Permissions is located inside of the "Advanced" tab on twrp.

Hi guys! I had the same problem, and I had tried everthing that you have mentioned here and nothing worked.
I was coming from stock KitKat and the only solution for me was to go back to stock JB: follow this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219
and you'll see that it will solve your problem.
After I did that I was able to flash CM11, SlimKat and another couple of ROMs
I hope that it helps,

its most likely overwriting the recovery when you boot into android normally, there are similar cases and different answers for this situation. have you tried flashing it via Rom manager off the play store?

Thanks for answering!
Yeah, I did flash recovery via Rom Manager. I searched for my device on the list for the right recovery and it said Clockworkmod recovery was succesfully flashed but it won't boot into it.
