[Q] outdoor bright mode supported w/ custom rom? - Asus Transformer TF700

I bought a tf700 from eBay it came with a custom Rom . it doesn't seem to get as bright as my old stock tf700 with outdoor mode. Is there a way to enable outdoor mode on a custom Rom?

IPS+ as it was called is nothing but max brightness. I run ZOMBI-POP and need shades when turning brightness to max. What rom did you flash?

[Q] MT4GS lcd brightness levels

Hi guys! I need to confirm something if this is just an issue of my phone or this is just it on all MT4GS devices.
When manually adjusting lcd brightness does anybody notice that brightness levels past middle seems the same? I mean when I adjust the brightness level on settings and when it's past the middle level the brightness doesn't seem to increase anymore. It's just very noticeable on the first 3 levels. Hope anybody here could give some feedback.

On mine the increase or decrease past the middle is subtle but it does make a difference. Whether you can notice it depends on your ambient lighting.
Really? I'm pretty sure mine doesn't really adjust it's brightness... And I tried every ROM I can get even stock and still the same. Would love to have feedback on some users also from this. Maybe it's with the LCD type. If I can confirm that this is a software problem then I will really be increasing the brightness level by modding it.

I checked again in different lighting... a dim room, a brightly-lit bathroom, and outdoors in daylight. I could not tell any difference outdoors or in the bathroom, but in normal lighting and more so in the dim room, it was very obvious that there was change past the middle. This is using the Miktouch 0.7 rom with standard kernel.
Ok I'm gonna try it in a dim room later. If it doesn't change only means I got a broken hardware :/ BTW I'm using a full stock ROM when doing this.

Im on pacman rom and my brightness adjusts past halfway
Ok confirmed I got a broken brightness level... lol dunno how this can happen but the level works only up to 1/8 of the full scroller in the brightness setting. Any adjustments past that won't work anymore.
tried it in stock rom, miktouch rom, sense 4.0 rom and CM9 ROM results are the same. So lame I just noticed this when I used my phone from a very bright sunny day and the screen is barely noticeable.

On mine, when moving past the middle there seems to be just two minor alterations, at the 3/4 mark and the full mark. I can notice them when I'm in normal room light and more so in dim light.

It could be that automatic brightness is turned on overriding the manual setting, depending on what rom you are running.
Nope can't be possible... The setting is working but not fully. I can adjust brightness only up to the 1/8 level of the scroller past that brightness does not change anymore.

[Q] Super Low Brightness Mode?

Is there a Super Low Brightness Mode on this phone or on the International version? I could have swore there was such a thing for the HTC ONE M8... Thanks in advance.
The closest thing I can think of is the "brightness settings" component of GravityBox (a Xposed Module)... I don't know if they work, as I have never fiddled around with them, but you could always give them a go.
I use the app called night mode to do this as well
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pt.bbarao.nightmode
I use Lux Auto Brightness (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vito.lux). It's the best automatic backlight adjustment app I've used (I had some problems with running out of memory on my Galaxy Nexus, but no such problems with my M8). It lets you set the backlight so low the screen is almost black.

Just wanted to say thanks guys! all these are great workarounds. I thought I saw a sense feature for Super Dimming mode or reading mode like the S5.

This app hasn't been working for me. It doesn't change brightness regardless of the light in the room. Yours has been working fine?
Yeah it's been working great for me. Are you using a screen protector? Lux relies heavily on the light sensor on the front of your devices (which on my M8 is seemingly infinitely better than my Galaxy Nexus was). A screen protector can interfere with the amount of light the sensor collects and mess up the very sensitive Lux app.

[Q] Capacitive Button Brightness on 11S

Hello,
I just received my Oneplus One, directly updated it to 44S with OTA updates...
Unlocked bootloader, flashed TWRP and SuperSU.
My issue is the capacitive buttons are very difficult to see in normal day, in house...
You can only see it at night...
Is there a way to fix this ?
Thank you
I have the same problem... It is not very bright
I think by design, it's just not very bright when used outdoors or in light area. At least on my oneplus that's the way I saw it as. I just kind of remembered the location and disabled the brightness of the buttons.

No, mine is very low compared to pictures seen on the web...
It is not just by design.

Are you sure they are set to their maximum brightness?

Yes, I'm sure, I tried to set value myself with adb, max is 255, and it is very low...
Edit : Just took a picture with a LG G3 :
and, the LG see the button better than real, with the light of the room, it is quite hard to see buttons...
It's a known issue and hardware at fault. Use the onscreen buttons instead.

My units maximum brightness compared to demo units

One thing I noticed when looking at some demo units today is that the demo screens seem brighter than mine when both are set to maximum brightness mode. I am aware that the brightness can go even higher if you are outside in bright sunlight and it's set to auto mode. I'm wondering if the demo units have some type of override more in their firmware that allows it to work even when indoors. Has anyone else compared their units with demo units and they the same brightness when both are set to maximum?

As I wrote from a different reason (other screen problems) I've seen a lot S8+ screens for now.
As well as other deviations (color tint, uneven coloring across the screen) it is true that also max. brightness is not the same. Devices with red tint are noticeable brighter in my experience then others (yellow tinted).

There is a Demo mode option under the Developer settings.
Anyway I haven't tried this mode.

Not sure if you've tried it, but setting your phone into High Performance Mode will increase the overall brightness by 10%. That could be one of the demo mode settings at the stores.

the brightness difference is way more then 10%, if you put 5 absolutely identically configured devices next to each other, every device will have a different screen quality and or max. brightness!
i have 4 s8+ in front of me atm, look how different the screens are (all the same screen mode, max bightness and test mode)
I noticed this today wit Huawei Nova 3.
The demo units were all brighter than a retail unit.
Yes, all settings were consistent across the 3 demo units and the 1 retail unit.
How is this possible.

Is there any chance to implemet High Brightness Mode without root?

Hello everyone! I just want to ask you, is there any possibility/way to enable High Brightness Mode on our device? I found sunlight legibility is ok,but not perfect, when compare to mate 10 pro or Galaxy S8. I read that guys from xda somehow forced HBM option but probably they first rooted phone. Is IT nessesary? Thanks for reply!
No... you need root and a different kernel that supports High brightness mode
