Removing auto-brightness feature from custom ROM - General Questions and Answers

Hi there!
As the title says, I would like to remove the auto-brightness feature from the custom ROM I am porting. It is based off CyanogenMod.
Unfortunately, I don't know what apk should I decompile, whether it's Settings.apk, SystemUI.apk or framework-res.apk.
Nor do I know what code should I delete.
Please help me out. This is my first custom ROM and I'm really excited for it.
Thanks to all who will help!

[Q] Need help removing auto-brightness feature from custom ROM

Hi there! I'm currently compiling a custom ROM (CyanogenMod) for my device. I'd like to remove a lot of dead "features" in the ROM that my device doesn't have.
More specifically, I'd like to remove the auto brightness feature of the ROM, for my device doesn't have an ambient light sensor.
Can any of you help me out? What apk do I need to decompile, the Settings.apk or the framework-res.apk?
What code do I need to remove?
Please help me out here. This is my first custom ROM and I'm pretty excited for it

Boot Sound on Android 4.4.2 AOSP

Hello guys,
I am posting here just for a simple topic which I couldn't get help from anywhere. It might feel stupid but I want to add boot sound on my AOSP based kitkat ROM but couldn't find any clue about it as none came stock.
So can anyone guide me to accomplish this task ?
I found a lot of places citing how to change boot sound but nowhere to add one. And other Custom Roms for my device like MIUI and Galaxy S5 ROMs had bootsound on them. So I think there is support and I just need to activate it somehow. So please friend grant my wish and teach me how to do this..
Thanks in advance.

What makes a ROM special ?

Hi,
Guys I want to know what makes a certain Rom special/better than others ?
I'm kind of new in this, the roms I've built right now are all built upon the stock Rom of my phone.
The only differences between my roms and the stock are ringtones, fonts, apps, boot animation, themes, wallpapers, etc like all the basic things.
I'm not finding this interesting, I wanna make something of my own.
How should I do this ? By using the Google source as a base in the kitchen ?
If its possible from where should I download this source code?
You guys must have figured out by now that I'm a noob
I'm not sure but I could be lost, so any help will be greatly appreciated
PS is there any internship thing here on xda, to which one could to apply and learn how to build a Rom from scratch/Google source.
PPS I'm tired of flashing my own phone every time i wanna test my build, is there a virtual box for flashing ROMS ? Like Genymotion but its for apps....
Thanks
