For some reason some of the APKs do not have all the images in the APK file. I think some of these apps download a whole bunch more stuff after installing T_T. Now I need to find that and see whats up.

Then you can probably find it with a file explorer by app data....
You might need root for this.
I am not sure what i am saying

If you have the apk file you can easily decompress it.
Just rename the apk to zip and open it with winrar.

Without knowing just how large you mean...I use File Expert, it's a Root file explorer/manager/editor that can do just about everything Root Explorer can do but its free....just be sure to go into settings and allow root permission.
I use it to unzip files I've downloaded to my phone. You can give it a shot.

[Q] Need Android Market app

Having issues with MIUI's market app not allowing me to download and install any app above 20mb and someone suggested to get GTG's 2.2.3 Infused Rom.
Would anyone with that ROM or any rom that can spot me the new and properly working version of the Market?
Thanks in advance.
Anybody? Pretty please?

why dont you just download the gtg's Rom and pull out the market.apk and the other file you need.
it should only take like 5 mins to extract and load up on your phone.

Have you tried reflashing I have no problem with apps in the market...
Also search Google for market.apk download that and try it
Sent from my SGH-I997 using XDA App
Just download either of the Infused ROM's 1.6.0 or 2.3.3then open it up with any zip program (7zip, winzip, etc). Look for \system\app\vending.apk then copy the file to your desktop. Plug in your phone and copy it to a location on your SD Card. Open Root Explorer or some similar root enabled file explorer and navigate to where you copied vending.apk, then copy it and place it in \system\app. Reboot after and you should be good to go.

/init.d/mountdl
and this file from gtg's rom, not just the vending.apk

[Q] Is it ok to delete apk files after installation? Please read further.

Hi. I just found out that apk files are kept in the device after installation of the app.
I just recently downloaded a file explorer app and I found out that the apk files of the free games which I downloaded and installed from android market are kept in this folder:
/mnt/asec (I'm using Samsung Galaxy Ace)
There are individual folders for each game, and in each folder are a lib folder and the apk file. For example:
Fruit Ninja folder (which is found in mnt/asec folder) contains a lib folder and an apk file.
Fruit Slice folder (which is also found in mnt/asec folder) contains a lib folder and an apk file.
My question is, is it ok to delete these apk files? Will the games still work?
Also, can I send these apk files to someone else via bluetooth so they may download the apps without having to visit android market?
yeah you can delete the apk file after installing any app for it to still function, I do it all the time. Yes you can send the apk file to your friend so they can install it. If you're still cautious, try doing a trial run with one apk file...send it to your friend first, then delete, see if it works.
The .apk files are like setup files for windows. Once installed, you don't need the apk, especially if you are backing up with Titanium or similar backup program.
follow up question
Hi. Thanks guys.
Is everything from the android market ".apk"? Is it possible that some have a different extension? I downloaded a dictionary app, I can't be sure but I think it's a .zip file.
Thank you.

I tried to delete the apk file. It cannot be deleted.
However, I copied it to my sd card, uninstalled the app, re-installed it using the one already in my sdcard, and it installed just fine.
I still want to be able to delete the apk file that is in the system though (/mnt/asec).
Any ideas or do I just have to deal with it?
sending .apk signed with another device

correctly.. correct me if I'm wrong Thank You
WillShaka, like I said, I tried to delete it. I can't. Not allowed.
I don't know why. I'm using ES File explorer
not sure if this works but have you tried unmounting the sd and delete?

Also, and I don't mean to veer out of topic (this question is often ignored in Q&A forum), if I use Odin to upgrade my stock firmware instead of using Kies, will it erase all my data? I have a feeling it will...

Just tried it. Doesn't work, but thanks for suggesting. =)
Yes, you can delete the APK after installation. But the APKs in /system/app/ need to stay where they are to function appropriately

[Q] Files copied back to Download do not show up

Hello,
After backing up my phone and flashing the final 5.0, I copied the files in "Download" back to my phone. Strangely I cannot see them when I open Download from apps. With a file explorer I can see them though I've downloaded some stuff and those are visible together with the copied files with a file explorer, so the path must be right.
Do I have to do some operation in order to have everything accessible from Downloads? I feel very noob...
The download app only sees files that IT downloaded. When you wipe, download app will only see new downloads. Not files already in the folder.

[Resolved] About to flash a new ROM. Titanium Backup question

As the title states I'm about to flash a new ROM on my Sprint Note 4. However...I want to install Titanium Backup with my Pro licence before accessing the market. I cannot find the needed .apk or license using ES File Explorer however. Can anyone point me to where I would find these so I can throw them on my SD card?

Both files should be in /data/app, but you can only see the contents of /data if you enable Show hidden files and Root Explorer. If you need help with that, don't be afraid to ask.

Aha! Thank you! I had hidden files set to 'show' but did not have 'root explorer' enabled. Thanks so much.
