The radio issue depends on android version. If you are using 5.1 you woldn't fix it with flashing other radios.

Yes. But you'll not be able to fix anything by doing this.

I don't get what you mean
Lxr radio fixed my problem, personally, for me, the 5.1 radio sucks, it indeed "fixed" my problem, if you indeed use the XDA search and google search you will find out that it "fixed" many others problem also.

LRX22C works best for me

@piperx, @republicano
If OP by "have issues it it cutting out" means this: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/nexus/o-UyGECxh2k[76-100] then he woudn't be able to fix issue by flashing different radios.
Sorry if I misunderstood all thing.
Regards, Zagor

Oh I see, I didn't know this bug existed,
I just assumed it was related to poor signal sorry.

I seen that before, I just don't have a problem anymore since switching radios, and mine cuts out bad on 5.1 radio.

[Radio][28th November 2010] 2.42.02.10.29 Sprint CDMA Hero

Ok, so for those of you who are wondering where to find the new Sprint CDMA HTC Hero radio, here it is This is for Sprint users on any rom; however if you're using Firerat's, it will not be as simple as flashing the radio. For those of you running Firerat's, either follow these instructions to flash the radio or see this thread. For those of you NOT running Firerat's, here are the steps to flash:
Download the radio and place on the root of your sd card
Choose "install zip from sd card" in recovery
Select the radio
It should flash, and then ask you to reboot the phone via the menu.
Select "reboot phone" from the recovery menu
The phone should reboot, with a big box and android showing
The phone will then go back to recovey, and say "Formating Cache..."
Wait about 5 seconds, and then reboot!
You're done then, new radio should be flashed! Let me know if you need anything or want to express thanks!
Thanks to Nfinite for the radio pull, here's the MD5 for it: F15CF77B1C08CFB1F357E2574F386F5F
Thanks for this. I revamped my HBOOT thread and included a link to here to encourage people to use this method whenever possible.

You both are so awesome, thank you!
Did not seem to impact signal so far, though I've only tried laying here in bed. I'll report back after work Monday, as that is always the major radio killer spot for me.
Side note: could be a placebo, but data does ' seem' snappier. I'll report back Monday and hopefully have more answers.
At least as good, if not better so THANKS!!!

No noticeable difference as of yet, but we'll see once I get home how it fares.
Since I use firerats and that method seems daunting, any potential issues with just staying with the old radio? I am due a new phone in Feb and just thinking it might be 'easier' to just stick with the old...also, does anyone know if the PRL is still 60671 or has that been updated also?
Will this work on various software build versions of the stock (rooted) Sprint Hero? Just asking because I didn't upgrade to the latest OTA so I'm still running 2.31.651.7.

Yes it will work.It won't change from custom rom to custom rom.Only if you flash a different radio or if your service provider changes it in a update.(Impaler or anybody if I'm wrong please feel free to correct me.)

That's a rom issue, not a radio issue. I'd flash deca's 691 capped CFS kernel; that should fix it

if you ran my rom with no issues then you flashed this winzipped radio and have issues now that most likely is not a problem caused by the rom

Could be kernel speed, seeing as if the radio was messed up there'd be more serious issues

[Q] Flashing Radio Viper 3.2.7 on OneXL, worth it? And 2 Noob-Questions

Greetings guys
I'm running ViperXL 3.2.7 since yesterday and i love it! After browsing the HUB i noticed, that there are several Radio's available for my phone.
Is it worth it to Flash a new Radio, or ist it just an unnecessary risk?
And my two other Questions are:
1.
I also read in ViperXL Topic about WiFi Partition's. Never heard of that before and Google don't want to tell me what it is. Could one of you Guys explain what "JB WiFi Partition Update" will do to my Phone?
2.
When I want to Update on Viper 3.2.8, do i have to clear Cache or Dalvik? Or am I able to load it via "Check for System-Updates" on my phone and just install it.
Im very anxious that my HTC will brick when I do something wrong.
So please, don't be that hard to me. I'm a newbie.
And furthermore my english is also not that great
Thanks for your time, mates!
Regards,
Kureno
The need to flash radios all depends on how your current radio is working. For instance: is your signal strength ok? Is your battery drain acceptable? If your answer to these questions is yes, then you probably don't need to flash a radio. But if you're struggling with signal problems, testing a few different radios is a good idea. Flash one and note the signal strength, flash another and note the signal strength, and so on until you find one that works best in your area.
In regards to your question about the WiFi partition update, if your WiFi is working ok you don't need to do it. If you're getting reboots when using WiFi then you might want to try it.
And, I usually download the OTA update from the thread and flash it manually, basically because I don't trust OTAs. And I always wipe cache and dalvik cache, it can't hurt.

Thank you for your help!
Regarding my Signal-Strength, I think it's okay. But my location and my weather report doesn't update automatically.
HTC Weather is always telling me: "No Data for your location".
But when I click on Update, it updates my location and my weather report.
And when i start my phone, it takes a while until i have a Signal for telephoning or sending sms.
Can those issues be fixed by flashing a new Radio? Or do I just have to live with them?
I had the same problems with weather while using the Viper ROM, but I haven't used it in a while. The length of time it takes to have a usable signal upon boot will not get any faster by changing radios, at least I don't think it will.

[Q] Looking For Newest Radio

I'm looking to flash the new updated radio from 4.4.3
The quickest way is best.
I have Custom Recovery but for some reason when my Rom was updated to 4.4.3 the radio was not.
Looking for a reply soon please.
Go to 4.4.3 thread in general and search "radio". That's how I found it.

Custom ROMs usually have the modem stripped from the update to make the .zip smaller and also because you can flash them at will. (I have all modems on my internal just to switch modems when I go out of state.)
But as a friendly reminder, please think through how big 4.4.3 was and next time Google search what you're looking for, you wouldn't have been waiting for us to tell you this if you had. "4.4.3 Nexus 5 modem"
Here's the link if you can't find it however. All the best.

[Q] How do you deal with echo bug in KitKat ROMs?

Hi guys,
I keep checking KitKat ROMs for months, but I always had the echo bug which means during a GSM call the other parties hear the echo of their voice which is a major inconvenience for me. I installed CM11, LiquidSmooth, MoKee, but they are all the same. Using a bluetooth headset is a workaround, but I can't use a headset all the time.
I read the forums and other people have this issue, too. How do you deal with it?
Do you know a way to get rid of it? Editing a config file for decreasing mic sensivity or get the echo cancellation working? Please share your experiences with me. Thank you.

Thanks for your reply. I'll definitely check Lollipop based ROMs out when it reaches a more matured state. I need my phone is as stable as possible . It's important for me that not to meet any issues when making or receiving a call, so I'll just wait for the time being.

Some people do not have this problem. What is the reason ? i read from the internet that echo problem depends on the country. When the guy move an another country the problem is no longer exists. do you think is it the true reason ?
I don't think so. Other guy in my country do not have echo problem with his Xperia L.
Also, I checked it with DE and CE 1.14, 1.17 stock firmwares as starting point, all the same.

unfortunetaly not, i will be very glad if you check it with another gsm provider.
I tried to choose another network manually, but I couldn't. Guess I need to borrow a SIM card and install the ROM. Well, it won't happen today I'm afraid.
Thank you for answer, you can try any time. I will try it if i have find time.
