Pandigital e-reader

So I just found out I'm getting a free e-reader and according to the pandigital website, this puppy is running android
Just wondering if any of you devs have played with one of these & have gotten it to root & run stock android. I'd much rather slap a 32gb card in there & use it as a tablet than an e-reader

I have the 9" reader android 2.0 rooted like a breeze.. Just some basic stuff there.. The adb is fully supported I use Linux and can help if you want the magic for the USB port..
Other than that I have not been very busy yet with it..
Did you just root w/unrevoked? I want to install 2.2 for flash videos & hulu.
Does it work on the Pandigital 7" tablet?
I've just aquired the 9" version as well. Currently running eclair 2.0. It does have the SLIDE ME marketplace, but I'd rather have access to the real droid marketplace.
I imagine, since 1saleaday just had a special on these refurbished units ($99) that there will be lots of requests for modding them.
I'm no programming expert, but am really good at following directions, so be gentle. <snort> I know enough to ask questions when I'm stuck.

Bluetooth in Kindle Fire 1st Generation?

Wasn't sure where to ask this, feel free to move the thread.
With some hardware modding can I put bluetooth in my Kindle Fire? I am running Android 4.2.2 on my Kindle Fire so if I do get it to work I wont need a new rom.

[Q] How To Root Kindle Fire 3rd Gen Running FireOS 4.5.5

Hi all,
I've been looking to root my kindle fire for a while now. I have been sideloading apps for several months now, but some of the apps I would really like are incompatible with my tablet.
I am running FireOS 4.5.5 on my 3rd Generation Kindle Fire HD. Note that this is a now relatively old tablet, as I believe it was released in 2013.
I have read and understand threads on how to root Kindle Fire 4th Gen running 4.5.5 and Kindle Fire 3rd Gen running 4.5.2, but I cannot find a suitable guide for my in between tablet. I don't feel comfortable winging it, since I am completely unfamiliar with Amazon's custom version of Android.
Unfortunately, the easy root path of upgrading to 5.0.n and then rolling back to 4.5.3 is unavailable to me, as the developer's version is not made available to 3rd generation tablets.
With this information, can anyone tell me how to root my tablet? I don't necessarily need a "noob step-by-step" guide, but at least a general outline would be appreciated.
Also, this is my first post; hopefully I'm following all the rules and regulations!
Thanks!
ditto
I also am very interested in finding a successful way of root the same device. It seems this is maybe the only kfhd that hasnt been successfully rooted. I am a noob though and may need step by step response.

There's no way to do an exploit to root your Fire tablet, you can convert your old Fire HD 8 to digital clock.
You can buy a new Fire HD 8+ on Amazon and migrate your valuable contents and files (including Google APKs, photos, videos, documents, projects, and others) to a new Fire tablet.

Let me know when there's a new hack to possibly install android.
Thanks for the info,

I don't know why you would buy a $100 fire hd tablet when you can buy a samsung Tab A for $150 that has android (my personal favorite kind of android) instead of doing all the crazy hacking to just get a stock version of android, I also looked at videos on how to actually install android on the new fire hd and you have to brick it and then do some other stuff which is very risky!
Thanks,

Well, I wouldn't drop a Benjamin on the clunky device you referenced (5th gen HD8 goes for $40 USD). As for Samsung's customizations you either love 'em or hate 'em. I fall into the latter category being an AOSP bigot.
tldr: Don't assume your tastes and hesitations are universally shared.

[ROOT][TWRP][DOWNGRADE] Fire 7 7th generation (austin) running Fire OS 5.6.9.0 (659658220)

Hey, I own a fire 7 7th gen which is currently running Fire OS 5.6.9.0 (659658220) installed on October 12, 2021 at 9:23am
I've came across the original fire os rooting thread which says "[UNLOCK][ROOT][TWRP][UNBRICK][DOWNGRADE] Fire 7 (ford and austin)." ,
I'm just curious to know will this process work on my device which is running a much newer version of fire OS, should I go for the opening the back cover and removing the metal emi shield to short the point to ground method?
Please help me...
I'll surely get a disease deadlier than corona if I have to use this crappy stock and bloated fire OS.
I just wanna use this tab for something productive
Any help will be extremely appreciated :')
