When I go into my gallery, and select to "Edit" the image, and then select "Photo Editor", it tells me "Photo Editor not installed on the device. Download Photo Editor?"
When I select to download, it takes me to an error screen within the Galaxy Apps store that says "Product does not exist in this store (4002)". When I select OK, the screen simply shows "Connection Failed - Retry" and when I select to retry, it gives me the same error code.
I've exhausted my google-fu on trying to figure out why this is occurring on my S6. The Photo Editor error message seems to be rare, and across multiple devices, but not much is out there on it regarding the S6, and definitely no apk's for it that I can find. Also, when I select the "Collage" option under the edit menu on a picture, that does nothing. It shows that my finger has selected it, but it does nothing more than that.
Does anyone know how to resolve this short of a factory reset in hopes that works on it? I'd really like to not have to do a reset, but at the same time, I've heard the stock photo editor is not a bad piece of software.
Help!
first select a picture or pictures then select studio
Are you using the stock gallery while running touchwiz and not another launcher? I can select edit and it just puts the editor controls right on top of photo.
Same issue
I am having the exact same issue described by the original poster. I can't find anything on how to fix it. Using the stock gallery app, unrooted, stock launcher...I open a picture, click edit, it tells me I need to download photo editor, takes me to Samsung appstore but won't download exactly as described above. I have downloaded another photo editor app which works fine, but I can't get to it (or any other editor app) directly by pressing the edit button while looking at a picture. It's just an extra couple steps that are completely unnecessary to be able to edit a photo.
If anyone has figured this out please let me know. Thanks.
Also I'm on Verizon if that matters.
I have the same issue. Have you gotten anywhere?

Unfortunately no
Make sure "Photo Editor" package "com.sec.android.mimage.photoretouching" is not disabled.
I disabled it by mistake using Package Disabler Pro.

Hi!
I've just published my first app on the market - it's called Epistle.
It's a very simple text editor that can sync your notes with Dropbox; I will add folder support and note search soon.
Since all I've got is an old HTC G2 I'd appreciate if someone could help me test it (especially the synchronization mechanism).
You can find the app here: kooklab.com
Thanks.
Looks nice. Love the interface. However I am getting an FC whenever i hit "Sync". Account linked, I turned off all the automatic syncs, have reinstalled. I don't see any activity in my dropbox. Have attached logcat.
The only thing I would change is the note title field. I appreciate how other notepads use a bit of the first note line as the title.
You need to make a donate version, btw. I have been jonesing for a PlainText-alike and would happily pay for one!
Hi!

There is a stupid bug that prevents the app to perform the very first synchronization.
I'll push an update soon.

I think I can manage to do that, somehow.
Thanks!
Hi! I like your app, but there is one thing I don't like. You should be able to give an option name to the folder it creates in dropbox. I'd rather have a folder named "Notes" than "Epistle", no offense to your namechoice.
This app is awesome!
I've now a Todo-list on my desktop and phone, synced!
Good work. I really like the idea.
Some comments:
1. I agree regarding the aforementioned opinion on the titling of notes. If no personal title is entered, the note should display the first line of the note in the overview list.
2. When you create a new note, the title is highlited and can be entered. However, as soon as the orientation of the phone changes (e.g. to landscape) the cursor is in the beginning of the text field and the title of the note cannot be changed. The same goes for the use of a hardware keyboard. When I flip my Desire Z open to use the hardware keyboard the same thing happens.
3. Deleting notes: The app should refresh by taking the latest changes into account. If I remove the note on the phone it should disappear from Dropbox. If I delete a file from dropbox, it should delete the note in the app.
4. Discarding notes. It should be possible to get back to the list view without saving a note. It's a good idea to have the note saved automatically when you press back. But you might provide a "discard note" option when you press "menu" while editing a note.

Becksman

In landscape you should still be able to hide the virtual keyboard (with the back button) and double tap on the title to edit it.

If you delete a file from the phone everything works as expected; the other way around at the moment cannot be implemented - with the current API there is no way to tell if a file has been deleted from dropbox.

You're right. I tried that earlier and somehow it didn't work. I'd still prefer the cursor not to jump out of the title if I switch the orientation or open the hardware keyboard.

For me it's not working either way round. I "removed" 2 notes in the App and in my Dropbox they still appear. When I start the App they however don't show up anymore. I tried hitting "Sync", which resulted in a FC. However I just tried it again - created a new note, synced it and removed it again. This time it somehow worked.

I'll soon push another update on the market that should resolve most of the sync problems.
Would sorting by modification time or search be possible? The UI is perfection, but with many, many notes i get confused while navigating
Please ignore gregory's comment on the market. Unix line endings ftw.
Hey, i downloaded this yesterday! I'll provide any help needed!
By the way, love the latin root for the name.
It looks really pretty. The only reason I'm not going to give it a try is that Simplenote sync is currently a requirement for me.
But your attention to aesthetics pleases me
Thanks, thanks a lot for this app. Working great on my HERO, and finally I can sync my notes between my phone and my Linux desktop!
I don't mind the folder name or even the reverse sync issue, but I've got a few ideas on improving this. For example, you should stick to a notes format (like TiddyWiki) and give us ability to remark (bold) text, create check-able lists of items inside a note.... with transparent formatting (for example, *text* should bold, []item1 []item2 should create a check-able list, !subtitle for that exactly that and so on...). I think it should not be very difficult to implement and it could lead to, perhaps, a web app complement.
This app has tons of potential uses and improves. Thanks again.
Ever since I got my Samsung Captivate I've been using its built in memo pad for months. The fact that I couldn't export my notes was kind of a bummer. Now with your simple app, taking notes has never been simpler.
I'll try to report bugs when I see them. Thanks.
Been looking for something like this for ages, thank you.
Yesterday it worked fine, but today I'm getting FCs every time I open it on my Hero.
I'm about to test this in the Nook Color.. Thought the title "Drop-Notes" might be best appropriate for its key function :- )
All the minimal features are AWESOME thus far!
I've been using AK Notepad for the past few months.
I DON'T LIKE that it requires their webapp at catch.com to sync.
I REALLY LIKE that yours is very simple.
The only feature that I liked in AK Notepad, that I would like for you to implement would be #hashtags. This would make categorizing notes much simpler on both ends of the sync.
Along with the hashtags, a simple filtering system would be great!
And perhaps a customizable widget, that displays ONLY a set hashtag?!
Great job!
I'll be the first to donate/buy when you choose that route.
I can't link my dropbox account. the link button does nothing for me. It lets me enter my email and password, but thats it.
I'm using a Cliq XT running android 1.5

UPDATE ON THE UPDATE:
Under Settings->Developer Options when you scroll all the way down do not tick "Do not keep Activities"- Destroy every activity as soon as the user leaves it. This in turn will not let function any app that has an import feature to the app. so if the app leaves its box to retrieve anything then it comes back to its box the app you are trying to use will always crash.
So only after i reset my tablet did i figure this out.
Hopefully my lapse in judgment in troubleshooting it my self instead of relying on a company's tech support will help others..

The problem of importing pdf is not solved...
Somone help me?
no luck~ not working for me~~ any solution to import pdf for s note~?
PDF import...
PDF Importing also doesn't work.. force quits after all the pages supposedly imported. File no where to be seen, regardless of pdf size.
I use ezPDF but the UI is so ugly and features are hard to find and change inbetween. But its still the best i've seen so far. Would love to use s note...
Galaxy Note 10.1 Canada.
Just came here to report that I also can't import pdfs into s note. It crashes every time. My model is n8000. I also don't have that developers option ticked, so it wasn't a solution for me. Can anyone think of something else that might solve this, please?

Mine is N8010, international wifi version. It seems to be importing but when it nearly finishes the whole S-note just crash and exit. No files generated in the end. Tried factory resset, all sorts of pdf regardless of size (down to 2kb pdf with just one line of text) and it still crashes. Definitely a software problem. Developer options not checked, but issue still exist.
any solution to this problem, n8000
I have a similar problem, but with my note 3... I used S Note in my N8010 and it never crashed, but my Note 3 won't import PDF (nor SNote) files, it crashes when I select the file. I tried formating the device, but it was worthless... Any thoughts?
I'm on 4.4.2 and I've found a very serious bug that made me lose a couple of photo, here's how to reproduce it:
Assume that you don't use Google+ and you keep it disabled on your phone (manage application > google+ > disable), so you don't have the Photos app in your drawer too
Open the camera
Swipe right in photos
Look at topleft, you'll find the Photos icon, THIS WORK AS A NO-CONFIRMATION-DELETE button!
I've read about Photos becomes the default application swiping from camera in 4.4.1, so I may expect an error / force close but I could never imagine that...
Can anyone confirm this?

Plese reply on google thread too (other user already confirm the issue), thank you
I fell victim to this yesterday! Very annoyed. I accidentally double tapped and deleted 2 photos in rapid succession when I only wanted to delete 1. I hope they patch this in the next update. Otherwise I'm going to have to try and remember not to delete photos from the Camera and go into Photos afterwards and do it there.
Update: Looked into recover options. Didn't find anything that will help me get back the already deleted file, but found something that will save me going forward. Already tested and confirmed recovery of a photo deleted directly from the Camera.
Installed Dumpster - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.baloota.dumpster
No root required, used the default setup and options.
Just download an alternate gallery like QuickPic. The Photos app is horrible, anyway.

Just delete Google+
I assume you don't use Google+ from the title so just delete the app (Google+) If You can't then it's a system app so you have to download something like "NoBloat" or "System App Uninstaller" so that you can remove Google+ Completely.

Steps as outlined in the OP are inaccurate based on the subject itself, and I think things got further muddled by the incorrect use of terms (Photos vs Delete) and location (top-right vs top-left etc.)
To clarify: the issue as I understand it (and can reproduce 100% of the time) is that from within the Camera app you can permanently delete a photo without confirmation, by clicking the Delete trashcan icon in the top-right.
Steps to reproduce:
Open the Camera app
Swipe from the RHS to view photos
Click the Delete trashcan icon in the top-right
Photo is permanently deleted without any confirmation (Undo will be available for the last deleted photo only, and only if there is more than 1 photo remaining.)
Edit: Ok, now I'm confused. It seems perhaps I have misunderstood the issue being discussed, and that it is potentially related to disabling Google+ and the Photos icon in the top-left...
Issue that I described above is also/still an issue IMO. I don't like the fact that I could accidentally permanently delete a photo because I double tapped the Delete icon.
Hi, I've read the manual and can't figure out how to put a pic with my contacts. My old Droid X and others was easy, menu>edit>photo. I've long pressed everything I could. When I get to "take photo or from gallery" it says "unable to save photo edits". I didn't even try to edit but touched on photo and got that message. Little circle spinning on pic, like trying to load. I hope it's not the phone, I've got less than 10 days to return it.
Any help for this phone will greatly be appreciated!

Android is more intuitive than ios though there is a learning curve to it.

Hemant, Agreed that the sharing is an option, however if I have already composed an email and just want to paste an image form the gallery, there is no option to "Copy to clipboard". That is a big miss. in iOS that just works naturally. Is there a workaround besides sharing.?

thanks for the tip. I'll try this out. but I can't believe there isin't a copy to clipboard or a simple copy highlight like the iOS. I'm not trying to point out but there are lots of these nifty things that lack when move to the android platform. I finally landed up with a good email client called Nine. However nine does not do anything besides exchange.
Copy to clipbaord is a big miss. On positives, I do like the wireless charging and the curved display and the integration of whatsapp calling as a regular call vs iOs.

Which email app do you use? Not all apps support copy/paste of images (since this is purely a Samsung Touchwiz function and not an Android one).
Try to force copy/paste: with both multi-windows open click on the middle white circle which opens up the multi-windows options. The second option from left is a force copy/paste (the icon looks like 2 windows, a black one in front of a white one, then a black finger icon at the front). Click that icon then click and drag a image.
See if that works.

I just came across this post while looking something else up. However, I know it’s over a year old and it’s actually easy to accomplish this so I am assuming you figured it out. But just in case, if you still want to know how to do this let me know and I will send you back a couple of ways to accomplish this. Also, IMO, Android is way more intuitive. I am typing this on an iPad and using the clipboard (not necessarily adding pics to an email (they’re actually the same on Android or iOS), but using the actual clipboard) on this device I actually think is a pain. I find it much easier on Android. So if you still need help, please post back. I’m sorry I didn’t notice this sooner. Take care.
it is not possible to copy images to the clipboard using a Samsung phone. This seems like a huge miss because it is. i used to hate Apple, but this one feature is enough... never again will i purchase an android device.
