battery drain soo fast when in use
i bought my samsung galaxy 2 tab 7 p3100 few day back and im not satisfied with the battery when in use it battery drains soo fast approximately stands for 15 hours only when left unused stands for 1 and half to 2 day...i can see battery percent goes 1 by 1 with minutes when i use is continuously and my version is P3100DDLE1 ... i use 2g gprs all the time and stay connect all the time in facebook and whatsapp 24x7 and gmail ....... should i claim warranty for the battery??? does anyone face the same problem????
I am running on roughly 7 hours at 78% of battery left. Been using the Internet a lot (Facebook, some Drop Box upload/download) and the Wifi is on all the time when the tab is not locked/standby. I played a little bit of a basic game as well (Free Flow), so it isn't graphically intense. I am by no means the most experienced here, but in my opinion, that sounds like some decent, if not very good, battery usage..

Thanks for your kind reply may i know how many hours once you charge your device ????
I used mine on Friday for 10hrs,tons of browsing,I turned the screen on and off many,many times, video calls for roughly 10mins,music,games for 45mins and at the end of all this I still had a 42% left.
The device is the P3100 wifi+3g it is rooted; I was only using wifi,so no 3G at all, I also had the tab on airplane mode with wifi constantly running,so no 911 calls.
I am running the latest stock rom,it is rooted and bloatware free,I also limit the background processes down to none,1 or 2 max.
So far I am very happy with my tab, although wifi is still spotty.
OP What are your settings?

Thanks for your kind reply shinydesert ....my device is also p3100 wifi + 3g not rooted i don't mostly use wifi ...i use 2g gprs on 24/7
There is an option battery on setting called screen and that shows maximum 50 to 60% of usage is display consumed and my display on setting on time is 5 to 6hour s.....the battery percentage comes to do20% and says it's low 8 hour's after charge

Here is a screenshot of my battery usage once pulled off the charger after a full charge. I have the Wi-Fi only version of the tab.
If you cannot view the screenshot.. After a full charge, I have 44% battery life left, have been running on the battery for 1 day and 7 hours, and the screen has taken the largest toll at 46%.

guys, could you tell how long was your screen on, please?
mine was only roughly 6 hrs.
Screen should always be the largest consumer of battery

my galaxy tab p3100 drained fully in roughly 5 hours of screen time on
At least for me, turning down the brightness all the way and disabling some system apps that are always on helped my battery a lot.

Yes, my screen is usually on about 6 to 7 hrs. And my battery life is about 15 to 24 hours.
I wonder those said their battery can stay for more than 1 day, how long was their screen on?
My guess is although the battery can stay long time but the screen on is only about 6 to 7 hours.
If yours only 5 hours maybe the gsm signal was not good. Try to change to 2g only. Or change other provider.
Hey thanks for the reply i use 2g sim only and I'm 24x7 online in 2g gprs i guess the gprs can also consume that much battery I guess I'm i right????

I am sure there are people who use the tabs for different things,if you are studying or reading a lot you will be able to see how long it lasts on, for users like me that turn it on and off pretty often the battery lasts maybe longer. I use it a lot for hours and hours,but it is never on for more than 1hr.

No problem for me about battery on Tab p3100
I felt that having Sim card inside the 3100 drains the battery pretty fast. I was not using much of 3G/GPRS connection. So after removing the Sim, I found battery usage reduced drastically. Overnight, the battery used to drain by 7 to 8% in standby mode with Sim card inside.
I don't understand, how people can comfortable use tablet with screen brightness at 0% or even 20%... it's mystical to me..If you buying tablet, you want to get good screen quality, good battery life (even at 50-70% brightness), smooth performance and so on...I have 2 tablets, ipad 2 and Samsung 3110. I really love my samsung, but battery life totally suck on it, when you compared to ipad...

anyone think the battery of the S6 is actually pretty good? I'm pretty sure I could've gotten 5 hours of screen on time. Battery was at 93 percent during this screenshot.

6 hours SOT is pretty good and will definitely last at least the entire day for me.

brightness at 25% because that's all I need with consisting Snapchat, Instagram, & some YouTube. Light texting and some calls.

do you even go outside?, i use mine at 50% procent ( factory default) and i dont think its visible in sunlight. for me the phone has exactly the same battery life as an iphone 6, the problem that i noticed is when i use GPS the battery drains like hell.

Usually I'm indoors but even at 50% for outdoors I get the same screen on time. Never used an iPhone so I can't comment on that or the GPS..yet

I am curious IF I get S6 if at about 20 to 25% brightness- enough for indoor use - I would get 5 to 6 hours SOT browsing Internet emails and Youtube occasionally.
If not I have to get Samsung to make S6 Pro at 7.5 mm thick with
3100 Mah Battery !
I Def think my battery is good. I go the entire day moderate usage an have plenty 30 percent battery life left.
Let me put it this way: I live in sunny Los Angeles and the battery drains way faster from 7 am - 6 pm than from 6 pm -2am. The auto brightness sets the brightness too high during daylight hours and it EATS through the battery. Setting the brightness manually with the slider helps quite a bit.
SOT for me in sunny weather 3 - 3 1/2 hours at most
SOT at night 6-7 hours
Hey, my battery has been excellent, but this is the first day it has really sucked... I have only got 1 hour and 42 minutes SOT but its still almost empty at the end of the day, Why is android eating my battery?

Two things..
1. There are battery threads that already exist, so don't create new ones..
2. This is the One plus One section..
Battery drain is generally app related, use Better Battery Stats to see what's draining..

I have many apps deactivated and automatic brightness.
most with wlan,80%wifi and 20% provider network
I have to say I was on vacation and only at home.
When i am working the reception is worse and that needs more battery again.
But I am satisfied,1.5 hours better than the Honor 7x I had before.
It will be displayed briefly,it was attached to the pc for about 5-10 minutes.
Why the mobile network does not show anything I do not know.
almost 2 days and more than 8 hours sot is great

Wow 8hr sot? How u achieve that? My sot around 4 5 hr only.. Using data not using WiFi
are certainly 3-4 hours youtube here,youtube does not need much,and i am not a player no games and wifi needs less than data

Is anyone getting really bad standby drain on the Exynos version? Soon as I take the phone off 100% charge within minutes of checking it again it falls down to 98% with nothing running or in the background. Last night while I slept for 8 hours it lost 11% which 0 apps running in the background. Please let me know cheers.

Hi I've had the same experience with the note 10+ s20 ultra and now note 20 ultra, at work today on lte connection I got 2.5 hours sot over 12 hours at the end of which my battery was empty. This might improve when the software learns my usage patterns but I found there's nothing you can do about the standby drain, the only 2 brands in my experience with good standby battery life are Huawei and apple.

Yeah I had the exact same issue with my note 10 plus even with learning usage which I sent back. Just come from the Huawei Mate 20X which had the best battery life to this. Hopefully it may improve otherwise I can't see myself keeping it.
I had the P30 Pro and the battery life was far better than this. Let's hope it improves over the next few days.
Just installed the new update which may help.
4h normal use (about 1h screen on), the battery dropped from 90% to 50%
The standby drain is really bad. Really hope after few days of usage it can improve tremendously
4% overnight only.
Yesterday, 6 hours SOT. 7am to 10pm. 120hz. Typically getting 5 to 6 hours SOT.
Did any of you tried putting apps to sleep apps in settings? I did that on my note 10 plus and I think it matters.

Exynos. Quite normal to get anywhere between 5 to 6.6 hours SOT. With 120hz and everything on.
Do you guys disable any bloatware apps? Either via adb or package disabler. There are some apps that run like Samsung push service, smart things, etc.

Not interested in doing anything like that, so no.
7 hours sleep time. Battery discharged only 3 percent.
Before sleep it was 81%. Morning woke up to 78%. Exynos version.
GSam says google app is eating my battery for breakfast, lunch and dinner and have not even opened the app to do a search today. AudioMix from the Google app? Turn off auto brightness and turn off adaptive power saving.
I had battery drain since Galaxy S4, S6 Edge Plus, S9, S20 Ultra and Now Note 20 Ultra. Same story every year about battery drain.

How does Auto Brightness affect the standby battery drain? I am curious.
When you go out doors day time or sunshine your screen automatically goes full brightness so it will drain battery quickly. Keep your screen brightness low or medium
Now I'm past the first week or so I'm having no battery issues. Happy as usual with my next Note!
I get around 3% battery drain in around 7 hours overnight, but then at work I might not use it for an hour and its drained 3 or 4 %. Maybe alot to do with signal.
