Did you say you UNZIPPED it ??? you must not unzip the TWRP backup.
Place it as it is in the sdcard and then try to flash in recovery.....

Try this TWRP back up

I took it from this thread

This should work... If it works then you can even upgrade to Lollipop.

Hi,
I think the problem you are having is not having the correct file path for twrp to restore from backup.
create folder(s) in your external sd card root directory as
TWRP/BACKUPS/FA***********
You will get the FA************ folder name if you had made any previous twrp backups or try to make a backup from your existing situation pointing to the external sd card ( this should automatically make the necessary file path onto your external sd card root directory.
then place the downloaded twrp folder (not the zip, unzip and should get a folder and the folder name should read something like "2015-04-26--06-50-17 KOT49H release-keys") inside the FA************ folder and try to restore.
See if this works....

Had a lot of trouble to go download and make use of it, but it did. Now, I downgraded from Android 5.0.2 to 4.4.2. What's the safest way to upgrade cause I heard after unlocking bootloader, accepting official updates will brick the phone.

Thanks Greg, I can relock the bootloader using the fastboot command, right? Shouldn't be much problem then. But as someone who has used it, is it worth to trouble to upgrade to lollipop? And will the root right hold if I upgraded?
Also, mounting the SDcard to the pc, couldn't do that in the TWRP backup as the instruction said, luckily I had my trusty old phone. Should I be worried?

Hi. Yes you can relock using the fastboot command. Should not be any problem. I upgraded and the best thing is the file manager is now included so you can delete files etc directly. Once you flash stock recovery you will lose root, and that will be before you even upgrade.
Cheers
Greg.

Easiest option:
Download the RUU from
https://mega.nz/#!bEIkQSwb!TmLGHVA2o9Lt871jvRbBfMoPfTeKVQ-7jW1ZB0KuXkY
you will get a zip file. put the zip file into the external sd card (do not unzip). But, rename the zip to 0PAJIMG.ZIP (THE FILE NAME IS ZERO TO START NOT THE LETTER O).
Put the external sd card back in the phone.
Go to bootloader by pressing volume down and power button at the same time. you will get a prompt to install the RUU. accept it by pressing the volume up button. sit back and relax. Let the install finish and follow the screen prompt to restart phone when done. You will get a factory device.
THIS WILL WIPE ALL YOUR DATA.
BEFORE YOU DO THIS MAKE SURE PHONE HAS AT LEAST 50% CHARGE.

There is no reason why a RUU flash would not work via external SD card method as I said before. Choose and download the RUU zip carefully from this page
http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-e8/help/htc-one-e8-mid-cid-ruu-ota-twrp-t2903210
Regarding the problem you are having with internet after installing Singapore TWRP, did you modify the CID first? Do a lot of reading on this forum and whatever you do, do very carefully as there is real risk of bricking your phone.
In my experience, the most hassle free solution to get back a working phone (from your situation) is to flash the RUU zip. Please let me know what exact problem you are having.

will any problem comes in future??

Great news. You have at least got a working phone. Now the only downside is that you will not be able to get OTA updates (such as lollipop) with this configuration.
You have to go back to original version of the phone with stock recovery in place to get OTA, or follow the method of flashing lollipop RUU zip as mentioned earlier.

same hear i stuck on ruu screen i think ineed e8 m8sx 5.0.1 ruu my device is s-off with super cid i think i downgrade by mistke is ther any one can help

Have I bricked my Desire S? [SOLVED]

I believe I may have bricked my Desire S also.
I rooted my Desire S through the official HTC method. (I have since relocked)
I then attempted to flash a custom ROM.
The custom ROM (Reaper 2.2) got stuck in (what I believe to be a boot loop) so I attempted to revert to the backup I made - that failed.
I did manage to get CyanogenMod 7 working but with missing functionality
Now I could not get beyond the white HTC screen (or the Black screen with the circle/number pattern on Reaper)
My desire S originally was on Vodafone (Ireland)

I really need help here please.
OR is my Desire S totally bricked beyond repair
If you unlock with htcdev, you need to extract the boot.img from your desired ROM and flash manually through adb after flashing the ROM. I'm 99% sure this will solve your problem. And you'll have to do this each time you flash a new ROM, or backup.
if you s-off your phone rather than using htcdev, you would not suffer from this procedure.
Don't be afraid, there is no brick

Ok, now I think I really have messed it up
I tried to flash RUU to the phone and now I cant get recovery to mount the sd card.
Can anyone suggest which RUU I should be using as the RUU app told me I was using the wrong image

Did you read what I wrote?? Do what I said or search forum about that if you need more information. It is definitely necessary, you won't succeed without flashing boot.img separately.

Am I right in my understanding: go to the .zip file >> open in win zip>> extract boot.img to the adb folder >> fastboot flash boot.img?

YEs that sounds about right, although the full command is
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Thank you both for the reply's.
I will try this when I sober up in the morning
Now that I am sober I want to thank eyahl, nenad_l and ben_pyett for your input.
I managed to get the rom working last night (drunk and all as I was )
I am now running a MIUI rom
Baseband version: 20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.04_M
I need to ask a couple more questions if I may?
The interface is not what I am used to and don't particularly like it. It reminds me of the UI I had on my old Galaxy I9000. Is this as a result of my kernel version?
Kernel version: [email protected]#1 Thur Oct 6 14:48:57 BST 2011
My understanding of what I have done by flashing the boot.img is that my kernel is that of the rom from where the boot.img was taken and the MIUI rom sits atop - is this correct?
So if I extract a boot.img from a different rom and then flash I will have a different kernel version and subsequently return my UI to (SENSE) that I'm more familiar to?
Sorry for the n00b questions but I am only learning about this at the moment
Thanks guys
No problem, and your understanding is not really correct, the UI is determined by the ROM not the boot image (which is ultimately the kernel), so to get sense back you need to flash a sense ROM like Endy
Every time you flash a new ROM simply flash the associated boot
You shouldn't flash a boot from one ROM under another, it's not mix and match, well that's not completely true.
Swyped form ym Dersie S unsig XAD Permuim
Thanks Ben.
I will look for the 'Endy' rom you suggested.
Ok, so I dl the zip, extract the boot.img, write it from cmd and then flash the rom like normal?
I find it very frustrating to find roms.....almost every time I select a rom to dl I'm redirected to a bad link or to a referral to another referral etc....
If anyone has a source for roms please post it!
Best source for roms is the development section here at desire s xda. Just look through the threads, you will find good quality and stable roms. Endy=endymion ROM
You can look to the index thread, additionally zac made a torrent thread where you can find torrents for the most used roms
Sent by my fingers to your head.
Thanks eyahl
I have dl Endy and will try it now.
I'll have a look where you suggested
Thanks
You must wipe your device (all partitions except sd) prior to each ROM flash

Can this thread be marked resolved?
Thanks again

Yes, you can mark the thread solved
Sent by my fingers to your head.
Is there a 'button' or a tool that I can use to mark as solved or does it have to be done by a mod...
or can I just do this:
SOLVED!!!

Updated TWRP 2.7.0.0 for Ville

It worked great for me. I just tested it with a back up and restore from internal as well as an OTG cable.
http://teamw.in/project/twrp2
What rom you have?
I know that for some 4.2.2 rom is better to keep the modified twrp 2.6.1.0
Here you can find a modified version of the latest TWRP that works correctly on hboot 2.16, which have the data/media storage partition in the same system partition.
Yep, thank you! Works just fine for me.
I've installed Liberty ROM 6b and hboot is 2.16. which one is proper for my device?

The version for hboot 2.16:
/data/media storage partition (HBOOT 2.16.0000 only)
twrp-2.7.0.5-ville-dm.img (9 MB)

There are a lot of issue with this recovery because since /sdcard is on /data/media and there is no symlink to /sdcard, than a lot of installer and aroma installer will fail during zip flashing...
also it would be nice if backup is done like 2.6.1.0 (accessible from sdcard/TWRP/backups)
and also it would be nice if the default directory points to /sdcard and not /
I'm having issues with mounting to usb with this version of twrp. It wont connect via ADB or as a storage device =/

Did you flash the correct version for your boot? Also note that no recovery for 2.16 will be able to mount as usb due to new partition layout which is not fat32 anymore. You can mount a usb otg or otherwise use adb sideload feature (google it). This is not the fault of the dev.

Your latest unofficial twrp is working great for me on the 2.16 hboot. Stable so far and when I reboot to system there are no multiple reboots or other issues.
Have you thought about posting the link in the htc one s development forum? A lot of folks who may be interested tend to view that subforum more than this one. Also I had a bit of trouble downloading the link. I had to tell my browser to download the target and had to rename to .img as it was originally trying to download and open as a webpage.

This recovery works great also for me, but i'm not the developer of this mod.
I don't remember who have posted on xda forum the link of MDMower website.

T-Mobile HTC One S won't enter recovery
I flashed openrecovery-twrp-2.7.1.0-ville.img onto my t-mobile htc one s (i wish i knew the model number i think it may be the pj40100 or the z520e or both, the z520e pj40100 and i'm running hboot 2.15.0 with bootloader unlocked s-on After flashing i rebooted the bootloader and then tried to go into recovery but the phone just goes into a loop of failed system boot attemps and the white htc quietly brilliant screen just goes on and off over and over until i hold down the power button long enough to power down the phone Phone has a brand new battery that I used another phone to fully charge What could be the problem?
Maybe you have to delete twrp-folder from SD card and retry...
I flashed this to my One S T-Mobile but phone can't enter recovery

I've got exactly the same problem with my HTC ONE S ville. Cannot get TWRP 2.7.1.2 or any newer version to work, only bootloop. Just wanted to install cm11 on H-Boot 2.15 unlocked, S-OFF :crying::crying:

Unfortunately no luck at all. The only Recovery I got to work is "openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-ville-selinux.img" but this one is to old to flash new roms. I can flash CM10 with it, but it is also not booting. Here are the details of my phone:

I send it to a specialist (someone with a Riff Box xD), because I bricked the bootloader (QHUSB_DLOAD). I got the phone back with unlocked super cid hboot 2.15. That are very good prerequisites, but as I said no Recovery works for me. No Philz, no offical or inoffical twrp. This device is the first one in my "carrier" that is really frustrating me...
First: Please delete your serial number and your imei. Just for your own safety.
And second: As your "fastboot getvar all" output states your phone is on hboot 1.09 and not 2.15. So that's the culprit for your problems.
Just flash a RUU that corresponds to your CID and update your phone to the latest firmware version using the OTA function of the stock rom. If you can't find a suitable RUU get S-OFF by flashing a Sense based rom and using either rumrunner or facepalm. After that you will be able to use every RUU you want. If you use facepalm just be careful not to install OTAs before you undo SuperCID or you will brick your phone.
P.S.: Maybe there's a faster method to solve your problems but that's actually what I would do.
Thank you for the advice, normally I delete those data but it was to late for thinking clearly xD
The vars I posted were the ones before I bricked the phone. I got it back with the values I described after that. But I was not able to update TWRP and in general not able to boot any ROM flashed with old TWRP. But after one week of pain I found this awesome Thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2751518 the RUU updated the whole phone to Hboot 2.16 and suddenly I was able to install TWRP 2.8.5.5-ville and flash the special Hboot 2.16 version of cm11. I had to flash boot.img manually, because S-OFF was gone after RUU update, no big deal. I'm happy now =)

[Q] Q: Soft Brick Sprint HTC One M7 (nightmare)

Hello Community,
Let me begin by apologizing if I am in the wrong forum channel. I am new to the site kind of. I mostly sift through answers.
In this case I have not found anyone with my problem cause the wouldn't make the rookie mistake of forgetting to take a backup BEFORE flashing junk on their fancy phones.
Resources: I have latest TWRP, can access it and bootloader
Problem: :crying:
I have an HTC One M7 from Sprint. Currently all user data has been formatted (cause I am genius). I am able to lock and unlock bootloader. My phone is in S-ON (another dumb mistake I know). The device is recognized in fastboot but not in ABD and I cant figure out why not. superuser was deleted by the wipe. :crying:
Solutions Tried but Failed:
I have download the RUU for my phone (or at least I think *651.10 and *651.7) and tried to run the setup.exe in admin mode while my phone was locked in fastboot... This resulted in an Error:155
I have tried flashing the same RUU from cmd prompt... this resulted in remote 12: signature error (still dont know what that means)
I have tried achieving S-OFF but alas I cant get my device to be recognized by ABD, I dont have an OS for internet/radio signal
I am starting to think I may have just effed everything up.

As long as you're S-ON you may only flash a RUU thats the same version or newer as installed on your phone. The RUUs you tried are older than the installed firmware. A backup that yu can restore via recovery should work.
Have you been on Android 4.3? This is the latest available RUU -> http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_M7_WL_JB43_SENSE50_SPCS_MR_Sprint_WWE_3.04.651.2_Radio_1.00.20.0913_3_NV_SPCS_4.38_003_release_335355_signed_2.exe

Thank you for responding so quickly. I do not have a backup like I said. I dont know what version of RUU to get cause none of them work. If you know of the right RUU that would be AWESOME (HTC One M7 Sprint) so then I can up-date that in to my solutions tried.
Again thank you for helping.

You can't flash this in recovery. Use TWRP recovery and flash the rom (not the Ota). Links are in my index thread.

You can't get S-off, without working OS.
You don't have an OS anymore on your phone?
Are you running a custom recovery like TWRP?
Run this fastboot cmd and copy the output here (remove your imei & serial number):
Code:

I flashed TWRP and I make restore, but phone won't start anyway. Maybe need to flash new os?
Flash the stock rom in TWRP, and don't forget to flash boot.img of the rom in fastboot.
Links are in my index thread.

Flash the stock rom in TWRP, and don't forget to flash boot.img of the rom in fastboot.
Links are in my index thread.

Something I make wrong. I flashed TWRP, then installed ViperSV, phone restarted and booted TWRP. Then I found boot.img in yours index thead.
Then in fastboot flashed new boot, but phone still booting in TWRP. What I make wrong?
You need to flash the boot.img thats inside the ViperSV.zip, not any from my index thread.

[Q] HTC sensation xe ARHTC Problem

Hello everyone;
Am new here... but I read all threads related to my problem for almost 5 days of trying .However, I learn alot from you guys and now I think am becoming experts LOL . I mean I started know what S-off/S-on/root /unlock/.....etc
Thank you for all the people who share their knowledge .:good::good:
Let Start, ....... I bought HTC sensation xe and after I upgrade to ICE I face Wifi problem and restart problem so I try to root it using ARHD!!
My phone was originally :
Locked/
S-off/
Hboot 1..29/
frimework 3.33.415...../
so I got through all steps of rom : unlocked process >>fast boot flashing recovery.img >>wip data>>and flash ARHD room ===== did not work(it stuck in HTC logo screen)
I try to read ...read read ..and then I deiced to change the framework and use universal framework 3.33..
I download the PG58IMG.zip file and check Md5 and put inside sdc and bootloader and I update it..and reboot ... so my cfrimework phone say :
-frimwork-3.33-
S-off RL
Hboot 1.27.1100
Radio-11.24A.3504.311_M
OpenADSP-v05.6.0.2226.00.0418
eMMs-boot
Jan 13 2012
Hboot
....
so I start again carefully and check the Md5 for ARHD 7.3 which was right. and start again as following :
delete the file PG58IMG.zip
open recovery wipe data>delete all partition except sdc
install zip file from sdc
chose ARHD , after checking md5.
instuall the rom
get back to recovery screen and chose Reboot Now..
Boot and HTC logo screen will appear and no thing happen after
NOT WORKING
Am sick and tired of trying ... i want to take the challange and try more i bouht this phone 5 day ago,....Any help or guaid Plz ??

Dont worry bout that warning, just press ok. Its just when u get the app u have a few more settings/options to play with.
When u flash a rom make sure in recovery u go to wipe/format and format all partitions except sdcard then flash the rom. The rom should boot no problem then.
@jmcclue
Oky I ignore it I flash rom by install from zip sd card ...it reboot and get back to the recovery screen
and get the same message :
The recovery has not been configured! Use 4etx Recovery Control or the free app updater.which is available on 4etx.net to setup the recovery and to unlock configurable features.
Hints: check out recovery setting
and I chose power off from recovery and switch on after that and always it get me back to that screen
also when i go to Info>i can see the
Current rom: Android Revolution HD 7.3 X

Click the "download now" button and it downloads as .zip file, i just checked. The recovery u have installed is not the latest but that doesnt matter when ur flashing ARHD.
Steps... Go to
Wipe/format
Format all partitions except sdcard
Flash rom
Reboot
It should boot but u MUST format all partitions except sdcard, not just cache or that because that does not wipe the system partition.
