[Completed] [Q] Flashed ROM(s) Still have same issue - XDA Assist

A Big Thank You to all the Phone Gods here! I've found many answers on XDA - I've been on a crash course on Android since Dec. 2014 and am up to Learning ADB (I work too much trucking OTR). I'll try to keep it short. Current ISSUE: My 4 phones will not take a picture when motion is detected (it detects motion, but no pic)
I flashed stock ROMs on 2 of my 4 phones, (LG L9 769 JB 4.1.2 T-mo [U.S.] and LG Exceed2 VS450PP KitKat 4.4.2) trying to fix this issue i suddenly started having with all 4 phones, which began at the same time[app was installed on different days on all 4]. I was using the phones with "motion Detector Pro" from the market, trying to catch a thief (apparently they live here n know phones). Same issue with similar apps from the market. It does record video with motion detector apps.
Any help in fixing this issue would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. It sounds like an issue with the app if you have the same problem on multiple devices. You might have to use a different device to catch that thief. Something like a surveillance camera.

[Q] Question related to connectivity and data transfer over networks

Hi everyone
Although I am a new member to this forum, I have been using this forum for months as an unregistered member, scouring the search function with queries related to my android phone, a Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S [LT18i] and a Samsung Galaxy SII [I9100G], both with the latest firmware and both rooted, thanks to this forum. Now I have gained some experience in the matter and want to contribute as well, so I joined. Some years ago, when Nokias used to rule this world, I had a lot of knowledge about the Symbian platform and was a moderator in a similar forum to this one. I hope I can contribute in the same way here even though my schedule is pretty tight nowadays. I'll do my best.
Now to proceed to my question. Its a general question I have relating to a queer problem.
I have two applications on my phone pertaining to this issue, Pocket Manga and Tapatalk 2. Earlier, when my phone was on GB, wi-fi and 3G worked perfectly for PocketManga but after upgrading to ICS, the connectivity issues started. Wi-fi and 3G, both would run perfectly for other applications but the arrows representing data transfer would blink for PocketManga. I know that it seemed like compatibility issues with the new firmware, but if I reset my wif-fi router, PocketManga would run perfectly once again...for a while and then the same issue again, only for PocketManga.
As for Tapatalk 2, it works fine on 3G but the arrows blink or don't show up at all on wi-fi.
So my question is, What could be the cause of these problems? Is it a issue with my phone, router, mobile network or with the application? Any insight to this will be appreciated.
Thank you
How did you update? Provider update or Custom ROM?
I'd try to revert the changes and go back to your old ROM (Backup before) just to ensure, that you aren't drawing conclusions between two independent errors.
Except this it's hard to analyse. Sounds like a ROM/Radio Problem to me, but just a wild guess since this just sounds so random (why onle for 2 apps?).
It was the official manufacturer's update. Yeah, the problem is pretty random and weird. But the latest firmware is working fine for me and reverting to the old firmware, even for testing, would too much of a pain just for 2 apps. So, I put forth the question on xda to see if anyone is familiar with such a problem

Are you aware when the Galaxy S Advance will get the Ice Cream Sandwich, or will it go directly to JB?

[Q] What's up with the N5?

I'm not sure if people are just really downplaying the bugs their experiencing, or maybe Canada just got a big batch of bad phones but it seems nobody online is having the problems me and a few friends are having with our phones. When 5.0 first arrived I was shocked to find I experienced none of the bugs that everyone was complaining about, 2 weeks later and my phone in unusable. A factory reset seems to clean things up but within another week my phone will become unusable again. I thought maybe my phone had broken until I spoke to some friends and found out that multiple (5+) are having the exact same issues. So my question is what's going on with the n5? How is yours working? I'm extremely disappointed this time around after the great experience I had with the galaxy nexus and n4 and would even say I was a nexus fanboy. After having the n5 since launch I have decided that I will no longer be buying nexus phones, as I have has nothing but problems with the 2 n5s I have owned.
A quick list of some of the bugs I've been experiencing are:
Terrible Battery
Immense lag / lack of response in general.
Facebook Messenger chat heads seem to close themselves about 75% of the time.
Getting the keyboard to come up is a game of hit and miss.
The Wallpaper changes itself to black (my indicator things are about to get crazy)
Data/WiFi often just stop working, while icons in the status bar appear normal
About 1 in every 4 notifications I get fails to actually send a notification.
I get a constant "attempting to reconnect in x seconds" while connected to my moto 360.
My navbar/status bar often disappear.
And the annoying "bug report captured" bug that has been persistent since I got the phone.
I've had these problems on stock 5.0, 5.0.1 as well as all custom Roms up to 5.0.2
I've even tried going back to KK, while greatly improved, I still experience much of the same problems.
Does anyone else have these or similar problems? Has anyone found anything that runs stable? Or is it just time I move on and get myself an HTC?
Using my N5 in germany and it's the best phone I've ever held in my hands Running CM12 (based on Lollipop) for now. Have also been using stock Lollipop for a few months. Both run extremely stable. To be honest: I never heard about your issues. I'm not that big of a fanboy. Never owned a Nexus device before, but I guess I'll never move away from Nexus
Just my honest opinion about the device
By the way: I've got a moto 360, too. And the connection is great - up to 10 meters at least and no random disconnects
I have zero issues with mine, but I'm on stock 4.4.4 so that may have something to do with it. I'm not a fan of Lollipop at all. Too many bugs, and I don't like the look of it.
After one year with my Nexus 5, running stock no root, never a problem. I'm a former owner of HTC flagships phones, never a problem with them.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Using Stock 5.0.1 rooted and with ElementalX kernel is good for me and have been using that setup for over a month now. No issues like what you're describing at all. :S
No problems here like that. Bug report issue is normally a poorly fitting case
Hmm... So it seems that the only people that are having these bugs live in my area... Do you think its possible we all got a bad batch of n5s at the rogers store here?
Edit: everyone experiencing these issues has bought their phones from rogers stores here in my city.

Yeah the devices purchased at the play store seem to be fine now. At first, me personally, I had tons of bugs at release. But those issues have been fixed with updates. Mainly concerning the signal and camera speed.
Thread cleaned.
If you think a report is breaking the rules or shouldn't be there for any other reason please report it and move on, antagonizing them adds nothing to the forum but makes our job harder. Thanks, Tijmen.
No issues here besides the occasional Mobile Radio active wakelock, which I did also see occasionally on KK. I did have some memory leak issues on 5.0.0 but either 5.0.1 fixed it or me removing some 3rd party background services did.

Rebooting is normally my go-to solution for problems but it doesn't seem to help these bugs. I installed CM Security and it constantly warns me about my CPU usage/RAM and battery Temperature. The culprit almost always seems to be the Facebook app (sometimes using 250+ mb of RAM just for background services) Could this be a bug with the Facebook app making my phone perform poorly... Does anyone know of any solid alternatives to the official Facebook app?

Fast for Facebook I'd a good alternative
I've been without issues since the factory images were first released, running CM12 CAF builds without issues (besides cm12 bugs)
So call me crazy but I deleted the Facebook and Messenger apps about 6 hours ago and have had 0 problems since... I'm using the official Facebook "Lite" apk I found online and while it is very ugly, things are running much smoother, just hoping that maybe this will solve the bugs I've been experiencing and I'll be able to help my friends get there phones back to a usable state.

I know it's really late in the game now, but have you tried starting in safe mode to see if you have the same issues? It could be an app causing all the grief.

[Q&A] Periscope Released! But with Bugs...

So hey guys, I come to the wonderful forums of XDA yet again to (hopefully) be a source of help for those experiencing OnePlus specific issues with the app, Periscope. Now, if this is in the wrong section, please let me know/move it as I was not sure whether to put this into the Themes and Apps section or this section. Anyway, for those who don't know Periscope is essentially a live streaming app for mobile devices. It was an iOS exclusive for a few months but it has recently arrived on Android...with a few kinks. I, myself have been experiencing issues that I believe are OnePlus related as I, who is rooted and fitted with a custom ROM and kernel, as well as my friend, who has been stock since day 1, as well as many reviewers on Google Play have been seeing the same problems. The issues I have specifically are laggy video streams to my viewers, even on a strong WiFi connection and LTE connection as well as replays not being able to be played, instead showing black screens and playing two seconds of audio during the first two seconds of the replay. So, if anyone has any answers, or have the same issues, please drop them in the thread as this could help one another as well as hopefully push for updates on the One. I will be posting this in the OnePlus forums as well to get more eyes and voice on the issue, as I think its unfair that we would be left in the dust. Thank you!
WTF
So Twitter recently ported the app from iOS, it's getting terrible reviews, and you think it's OPO related? If it's not working for Sony, Samsung, OPO and HTC maybe it's not related to your phone brand.
"Needs more work Not working.is this compatible with Sony Xperia E4G? I have two devices with 4.4.4 android but both are not initializing camera."
"Great app Love the app, would be great to add support for other devices like HTC Re"
"when I try to stream no one sees my video. Can't wait to play! It's early on.. Just fix it please galaxy s4"
"Streaming freezes When I broadcast I can't go more than a few minutes before it freezes and eventually crashes back to the main screen. Galaxy Note 4 on both fast wifi and T-Mobile LTE"
Dude you really should read more before jumping to conclusions.
I never said the issues of the app itself are only OnePlus related, YOU really need to read what I said more carefully. I know the app isn't perfect for everyone, but certain devices experience certain things, and the issues I mentioned I have mostly seen reported on the OnePlus. As you have posted, other devices are facing other problems. So please, contribute with useful and helpful information.
The issue is still present on OnePlus One, 2 and X, Periscope will be dead if they don't fix Android app. The Facebook live streaming will take over the same way Instagram videos killed Vine.

[Completed] LG G2 D802 Sensor problems after updating to CM12.1

Hi - I'm currently facing a weird problem with my LG G2 (D802, International version).
Details -
LG G2 (d802) rooted and running CyanogenMod version cm-12.1-20150820-NIGHTLY-d802.zip. Ever since I updated from cm-12-20150802-NIGHTLY-d802.zip to cm12.1, I first noticed that my auto rotate stopped working. Second, I noticed my screen would not go dark when I was on a call and put my phone to my ear. I eventually realized that this could possibly be due to some sensor issues.
I ran several sensor calibration apps and none of them could recognise my sensors on the phone. I even read and tried entering some sort of maintenance menu to attempt at configuring the sensors but was still unable to do so.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
PS - Tried rolling back to cm12.0 but the nightly build does not exist anymore.

Nexus 5 Problems

Nexus 5 - Issues with Ear piece + randomly switches off
Hi Guys,
Although I am not Developer or pundit but passionate about tech savvy. So then I have this LG Nexus 5 hammerhead 32 GB which was working excellently till my upgrading it to 5.0.1 somewhere in last Dec'14. Since then it started behaving erractic where all sound systems are operating & working Except handset earpiece, so had use speaker which was embarrassing when with group of people around.
In nutshell, there are 2 major problems with my handset - first Earpiece doesn't work and second it switches off (restarts) randomly. Consequently placed all my efforts to resolve these issues by way of rebooting, Safe mode, factory reset including upgrading to Android 6 Marshmallow but without any fruits. Presently it is running on 6.0.1 and random restart issue has become quite frequent therefore I am unable to use it. Sincere request to assist in restoring my Nexus 5 to normal working. Pls pls pls

Hello,
Thanks for using XDA Assist.
Your thread will be moved to Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting.
Have you tried reflashing the ROM?
___
v7
XDA Assist
Try starting from scratch by flashing the factory images: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/tutorial-how-to-flash-factory-image-t2513701
This should fix your random reboots. If that doesn't help for the earpieces, you may consider a hardware issue.
