Hey guys,
Is there any way i can use vpn services or apps to update my Android firmware to Lollipop? Be it kies or within the phone update settings. I live in Zimbabwe, Africa; and that basically means 'squat' for Samsung updates.

Lets say a kernal version is 4.4 can the android version be 4.4.2 or does the kernal have to match the android version?

Thanks for using XDA Assist Both versions should match each other , but yes for custom rom development we can patch kernel source such that it works on higher Android version but task is not easy and requires lot of knowledge.

Hello there! I have been trying to find a working root / update for my model for quite a while now but I cannot
find anything that would work with my model... The numbers are always different from those that uploaders say
it works on. Can you help me root my phone and find a working update since there was no official update for my
country (Slovenia) for Lollipop. It can be a custom ROM too, I don' care as long as it will run faster than current version
which is preinstalled with a lot of crap and runs slow. Here are the details:
