I'm a bit confused. Most of us who are rooted are using NVflash to revert to stock recovery, then using LG's method to upgrade to GB for the baseband, only to nandroid back to our rooted rom of choice.
Since the OTA is being sent out, can't we just use the captured OTA zip file to update our baseband without having to mess with the LG software? I run win 7 64bit and the LG software has never worked right for me.
Is the newest OTA not rootable through superoneclick or is something else keeping us from updating the baseband that way?
I'm curious about this too. If an OTA update can update the baseband, I would think CWM would be able to...
Does Tegra2 have a "deeper recovery" mode, like fastboot/hboot on the G1/Magic?
Basebands are not included with roms in the dev section.
You must return to stock, do the LG upgrade/OTA upgrade, reinstall NVflash and install a rooted rom.
I wish they would release the old and new basebands in a zip, but no one has. Some guy known as "the dude" said he would but he never came back.
Possibly a dumb question but... does the new baseband bring any improvement that's worth the hassle (back to stock, etc)?

My experience has been much faster GPS lock and slightly faster download speeds. That is all I have noticed. Signal strength seems about the same.

Much improved GPS. Seems like data is a tad faster.

Same for me... Plus, i was running the OTA GB release with the old baseband for awhile before i updated the baseband. I'm getting better battery life on the new baseband now.
Speedtest set a new record last night: 8.51mbps down.
Does anyone know if old modems are incompatible with newer ROMs? I just flashed the 2/14 build of SlimLP along with the 44s modem. I was noticing some pretty poor reception. (To be fair, I live somewhere with pretty poor reception) so I thought I would flash some of the other modems to see if I could get a better reception. Every other modem I tried ended up with no reception and the phone process kept quitting. Just wanted to know if anyone knew if the older modems don't work with the newer CM12 based ROMs?
You need to use Lollipop modem for Lollipop ROMs and KitKat modem for KitKat ROMs.

I'm having major issues with reception in my house, and only on my 16 GB OnePlus One. When switching to my Windows Lumia 635 or my HTC One X+, I get fine reception-- but as soon as my SIM's in my OnePlus One, I start receiving texts extremely late, which is a problem with apps like WhatsApp which require text verification.
I'm running stock ROM. That's CM 12.0-YNG1TAS17L. Stock kernel, unrooted even (ever since I flashed it back to stock to try and fix the reception issues). I've also tried OxygenOS, BlissPop, and Exodus and none of those have fixed my reception woes. Thanks in advance!

You ever get this fixed? I recently took a trip to San Diego and noticed the poor reception there.. a friend of mine, who's also on T-Mobile, has excellent reception with his new HTC One. I, on the other hand, had horrible reception; sometimes none at all. I've manually flashed the latest radio and still no dice.

Yeah-- here's what I did:
1. Flash stock ROM.
2. Update to latest stock ROM version via the CM updater.
3. Install TWRP again if needed.
4. Followed steps here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/help/fix-cm12-calls-sms-mms-deep-sleep-t3103193
I flashed both the modem and proximity packages after updating to latest stock, and I reflash every time there's a new stock update. Hopefully this works for you!

Wait, isn't the stock from still on 4.4 or something? How does that fix 5.0+ issues? Anyways, I'll give it a try, can't hurt, right? Thanks, I'll let you know how it goes.

Well, stock is 4.4, but when you use the stock CM updater you'll be brought to CM12, 5.0.2. You don't have to stay on 4.4

(Though presumably you could just try flashing modem and prox packages without flashing back to stock-- I just wanted to be sure as possible that nothing would interfere with the packages.)

Flashed an old backup of stock, baseband stayed the same. Also, when I check for ROM updates, it says there are none. Currently on 4.4.4

That's really odd. You're on XNPH05Q? Or another one?
I used http://www.droidviews.com/restore-oneplus-one-stock/ to restore to stock instead of using a backup.

I can't say I've ever seen that version before but it looks like someone else had the same issue: https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/xnf9xbs28k-ota-updates.315441/
So after running multiple lollipop roms for quite a while i thought about switching back to 44S just to see what it was like.
So i downloaded the fastboot images of 44S and flashed them to my One. After rebooting into the OS i immediately saw that i had no signal, atleast it said 'No signal' but with my carrier name next to it. I fiddled around with it changing to different kitkat modems and changing my APN settings but nothing seems to work! I think i've tried everything now so far.
Just for a giggle i though flashing a lollipop modem and booted back into the OS and bam there it was! full signal bars. But this is weird, why would the kitkat modems not work, or atleast dont give me signal at all but a lollipop, which is designed for lollipop do?
Anyone knows why my kitkat modem won't allow me to get a signal?
I recently flashed to Oxygen 2.1.4 and started having issues with signal. I have since flashed several other ROMs and the issue persists. I updated baseband F/W to .4.0.1.c7-00013-M8974AAAAANAZM-1 with still no improvement. I can still get make and receive calls when I'm out and closer to the cell tower but at home, I have a signal strength of about -110 or so which is the same as it was before the update. BEFORE the update I had few signal problems. I'm wondering if maybe Tmobile changed something in regards to their cell tower coincidentally at the same time or if something got messed up in my phone. I don't remember the baseband version i had originally. I need to fix this problem because I have no phone while at home until I fix this =( Please help!
I would try resetting it back to factory cm 13.1.2 by following this guide :https://www.androidsage.com/2016/04/08/restore-oneplus-one-stock-cyanogen-os-firmware/ but download the cm 13.1.2 using this site : https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=20027
That fixed it, you think it's the baseband or perhaps something else?

Using Sultan 14.1 since it's quite stable. I only tried Oxygen to check if I could get wifi calling but it seems a lost cause on the OPO.
