Hi, everyone.
I am new here, I wanted to know if there is an application (rooted or not) that can put (when the“tethering router and wi-fi" tab is switched on) our beautiful android device in bridge mode with another router. I better explain.
I just recently bought a gopro 3 which can be controlled remotely by the telephone through wi-fi.
The camera is a router and we have to connect to his network.
I was thinking to use it while riding my bike, but at the same time i want to be connected to the Internet with the 3g network to use the gps (maps).
As you know, the 3g is disabled when the wi-fi network is turned on; so I thought i would use the tether/router wifi option, but obviously there is no bridge option.
how can I do?
Thanks in advance!!

I have a Samsung i5800 and would like to use my data plan to use the Internet at home.
I tried setting my router Dlink DIR600 (ddwrt) to connect the phone but for some reason the Dlink is unable to connect to the Adroc network generated by android-wifi-tether.
So I thought to make the phone connect to the Dlink and to make the computers to route the internet through the android but the android does not allow the Wifi and 3G running at the same time.
Is this possible?
no!!!!!!!!
you cant link your router to your phone to boost the signal per say. What you can do is just a simple android tether to the devices you want to use at your home
You can't do that on your Android phone.
Thank you.
Am I missing a setting somewhere?
Sprint HTC Arrive - Mango w/ the standard ROM (no custom ROM or Bootloader).
I'm at work where my 3G signal is sketchy in certain areas. Since it's a work laptop, I don't have the ability to install Zune. But I can set up my laptop with an ad-hoc wireless network (since I'm plugged in via ethernet). However, when I try to connect to the ad-hoc network with my phone, it doesn't see it even if I try to add it manually (I've done it with and without a security key).
Most of my searches came back with how to set up ICS which is the opposite direction of what I'm trying to do. I want to share my laptop's network connection with my phone (which I understand will be subjected to work's filters). So is there a way to make WP7 show hidden and/or ad-hoc wifi networks?
Thanks
I know on my buddies kindle fire, it will not allow him to connect to ad-hoc wifi networks (such as turning his phone into a wifi-hotspot). This is a horrible limitation and I don't understand it. I wonder if our phones have that same built in limitation.
Hi there,
At my girlfriend's house there's an existing WiFi access point for their home network and they also have a bunch of computers wired in with ethernet cable. Mobile reception in the house is terrible but I've found one spot by a window where I can sustain a pretty decent dc-hsdpa link. I'm able to tether my laptop to my phone, the phone creates a new WiFi network ap and my laptop connects to that. That works fine.
The thing is, what I'd really like to do, is to have access to the dc-hsdpa connection from some of the wired computers on her home network. To do that I want to have my phone bridge the house network - via their existing WiFi ap - to the mobile internet connection. I'd like the phone to provide a gateway on the house network that could be manually used from the other computers. (I want to avoid using DHCP or anything as it will disrupt the network for other users.)
I know this is technically possible but I'm struggling to find an application that allows for this functionality. I've spent a good amount of time searching around the internet but to no avail. Does anyone know where I can look or of a suitable application? (My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505 flashed to run a rooted variant of the play edition KitKat rom.) I'm happy to pay money.
Cheers, Dave.

Hi,
my problem: I'm using my U11 in an aircraft for navigation. A anti collision device (FLARM/ADS) is connected via Wifi. That works fine.
BUT unfortunately I cannot connect to the web via 3G/4G at the same time.
I tried to set "Use always mobile data" in developer settings... no success.
As long as Wifi is on no chance to connect via mobile Data.
Is ther any chance to solve my problem? THX for your help!
All android is like this I think.
Connect to wifi = kill the SIM internet, cannot enable both on the same time.
It's not a new topic btw, like when we use a GoPro and using the hotspot to control it.
Fast network switching is as close as it comes but it still won't run wifi and cell at the same time. Wifi and cell must be possible because wifi calling uses WiFi and cell (when 4g is connected).
Can you not use wifi hot-spot in some way?.
