Yes, it is. Go to: Settings->Mobile network->Preferred network type.
No 2g only in there.
Managed to find it via hidden menu in dialler.

Hi,
You need to root the device and install project menu app then You will be abl to use 2g,3g,4g.

D820 and D821 modems are the same byte for byte so you don't have to worry.

All emui firmwares has support for network icons .
Try to disable wifi and check if they are appearing .

Yes it does.
If your connected to WiFi it won't show your type of mobile data connection.
Disconnect WiFi.

It should show if he disable wifi . if it dint then there should be some settings to enable it . if not then the feature isnt included in the rom

Thanks buddy, but unfortunately, the message I get is "device not compatible" I have tried so many other apps like those with no success. I don't know if there is a root method.

I currently have no root on my phone, and I'd really hate to root it just for that functionality and it fails to work. Has someone here tried or could try it on his or her Honour 6X. Thank you in advance.

If you have the patience, AOSP ROMs have that feature you were looking for. I'm positive that Honor 6X will get some stable AOSP based ROMs in the near future.

For now, am not interested in AOSP, I've had them for quiet a while now with Samsung Phones. EMUI is quiet fine with me. I just hope that app will work so I can enjoy fully my Huawei. Thanks for your replies buddy.

Am sorry to say that no app forces to stay on 4g only untill ur mobile network settings itself holds an option .
U can use engineering mode by dialing *#*#4636#*#* but this wont work on huawei phns .it is limited

I am using this widget sucessfully on my rooted Honor 6X. You have to enable "Show all network types" to allow switching to "LTE only"
. Works as it should. I cannot make calls because I cannot use VoLTE over here, but fast 4G internet without falling back to 2G/3G.
try installing Settings Database Editor from google play, run it and then edit the "hw_networkmode_preference" under system table to "9,3,2,1,11"

Did already but no changes post reboot.
Added "12" and got "3g,4g" but entering 11 does nothing

In Settings Database Editor, find the line "hw_add_4g_only".
Change this to "250;[yourMCC]" (in my case "250;262" for Germany) and reboot.
List of MCCs: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_country_code

4G is not region dependent. You can buy an unlocked phone from USA and use it anywhere and vice versa provided that your sim is 4G capable. Have you tried inserting your sim to another device?

Yes, I tried it . But it's not working I even tried different 4g sim on my phone. But it's not working. It only slow 2g and 3g network.

May be its just giving the H+ symbol but you have 4G. For me i can obly notice a difference when i am not on mobile data, that time it wont show the network symbol(2g,3g,4g) but when on data it shows correctly so i would assume this is just UI.
Did you check the internet speed by downloading any app or so? Are you trying 4g in sim one or two?

So, the LTE+others option is still available? If yes, put that on and try a speedtest to see the effective speed of mobile data traffic. It's weird anyway, you had 4G before?

you can download from google and flash it by yourself
All the digging I have been doing working on the unlock I came accross this service menu.I have not seen it poasted anywhere yet online. I don't know if this can help yet in anyway to get sim unlock but it does let you unlock different LTE bands and many more. Try it out on stock rom. *#*#866#*#*
And it's not even a 5g model

There is no 5G radio in the device. The software for it, if there was a 5G radio, is built in to Android.
I cant get into the app with that code

The code will only work on stock T-Mobile rom. And NO it will not activate 5g if there is no hardware.
