Tried Airplay with iphone 6 after installing airpin, it works fine
Then I wanted to root it, used a few methods. Firstly I tried RootMaster 2.1.1 and framaroot, no go it does not root it. Then, use kingroot, unsucessful and reboot by itself. Lastly baidu root does seems to work properly.
I am at my wits end, how can I successfully root this unit? :crying:

help pls.....

Other methods of rooting anyone?

Try this method for rooting RK3188 based tablets...
http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/88850-rooting-rk3188-tablets/

There is no USB cable that I can connect from the unit to the PC, unless the USB cable for the flash drive can be used to connect to PC?

This thread has a lot of good information about these head units:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2660662
The suggestion is to use a pre-rooted kit kat rom that matches your processor and screen resolution.

From page 1 of the link:
Rooting only works for Android 4.2.2. If you want to root 4.4.x you need to take apart update.img and inject SuperUser app (this is only for experts as @coudu, @Malaysk, @dsa8310 ). The alternative is to install a 4.4.x pre-rooted image and you do not have to do anything.
My understanding is that the usual way of rooting does not work for Android 4.4.4. Unless you know how (I do not) to inject SuperUser into the rom, you should find a pre-rooted rom to install and then the device will be rooted. Since the quad core are new, I am having a hard time finding a quad core, 1024x600 rom for you. I do not know if a dual core, 800x480 rom would work.
I am not sure of your screen resolution.
There is a quad core 800x480 rom on the repository link on the first page.
I haven't found a quad core 1024x600 rom.

I am looking at the rooted rom, the MCU MTCB-JY-v2.11 from lightinthebox is an older version of MCU from this unit, they are the same OEM.The resolution of this unit is 800x480, the problem is how should I change the rom when there is no reset button, no USB to connect to PC?

Interesting, no way to boot into recovery? Not mentioned in the manual?
Maybe send the seller an email?
Another thought is that one of the rear USB ports may be an OTG port which means you could use a USB A to USB A cable to plug into your computer?
It actually looks very similar to the unit I ordered recently except mines only dual core and has some physical buttons on the front. The back looks identical. Mine looks to have a reset button though so hopefully shouldn't be too hard to flash.

My version comes without the DVD loader, otherwise it is the exact same unit. I posted the message to them, hopefully they can instruct me on how to reset it.

They posted the updated MCU and update.img on the website. http://www.carjoying.com/Joying-blog/12.html . But I am still waiting for them to show how to reset it. The MCU version v 2.49 is newer than HuiFei MCU in the repository, , so you guys can try to download it too.

Finally got inside the bootloader, wow this unit does not have physical buttons, so they have two buttons holes for reset/move down and select!
Now that there is a update.img and mcu.img, what should I do to root this?
If your joying head unit android resolution is 800*480 and want to latest upgrade your stereo version is 4.4.4 kitkat like universal toyata android car stereo, please download the update file April,11,2015 in the link https://mega.co.nz/#!3s0QURxS!3icY8M03kqLgQwISOlZNbh7aJ_uSGArcFD83JRqvvGg

glad you found it.
There is a video of a similar unit here showing how to reset.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30bUAbxAR9I

Unfortunately the reset button is position at another location, it is not exactly the same as the unit I had.

I am posting the high resolution images of the inside of the unit.

I just do not want to brick it, to be sure there are two img files in the sd card.
update.img from quad-core rk3188 image, KLD, is in post #11499.
and mcu.img from http://www.carjoying.com/Joying-blog/12.html
reboot and update the img from sd right?
Since I do not have root access I cannot backup the system files.
Thanks.

You do not need to update the MCU. You already have the same version.
The firmware from DSA8310 is correct.

I got this rooted finally, you guys are a great help. One question, will the rooted image from joying quad core be uploaded too? I kinda like the interface from Joying rom better than KLD version.

UPDATE: The phone is good, but after i rooted i forgot to set permission for something and i stuck it in a bootloop.
It got fixed. A few months after i broke the charging part and it was fixed, but for some reason it still didn't chare. It got fixed after a few weeks and I got it back. The phone is in great condition.
The time it was kinda broke i used a Nokia Lumia 520 and a Huawei Ideos X1.
It's great to have a Dual Sim phone.
Sounds good to me. I've just ordered one as a cheap backup phone. I was't too sure what to make of their custom Android, but can't see any reason not to mess around with 'official' versions.
just place order.
next week i'll work on it for recovery cwm and root
just received yesterday ..
put under test and "personalized" with root, cwm recovery, Nova launcher alternative is icon pack lollipop and miui.
I also expanded the partition dedicated to app 1Gb original to 2.5GB (the maximum allowed) so as not to have problems even for heavy app.
also put Xposed framework and gravity box JB to customize interface, awakening through volume buttons, notifications etc ..
I have the rom 4.2.9 (4.2.2 renamed in a simple prop to build doogee) of October 2014, I also have a Nandroid backup but do not know how to post for the benefit of others, as to create a flashable zip, mo need a file that is not in the default package, but only in custom rom (I owe creareeeeee ...).
I was pleasantly surprised:
- Brightness and color screen
- Soft touch keys backlit
- General fluidity
- Battery, looks great and durable (to be tested)
- Power Options
negative notes:
- Touch to only two touches
- Various junk (immediately removed with root).
For the root, is simplicity disarmanete .. just download the app from xda framaroot 1.9.3, launch it and choose the last item ... restart and you supersu ..
Maps problem

Did you already create a custom CWM Recovery? Can you upload/share on Dropbox etc? Also, how did you expand the system ROM to 2.5GB?
Cheers
No cwm flashable zip, because folser meta inf is necessary to build a zip, and i don't know where to find it. The partitioncan be resized flashing only ebr 1 and 2 with flashtool (choose ebr for mt6582 and android 4.2. X). You can find ebr's in this forum

Installing Apps on SD card
How have you guys been using the SD card? The phone storage is just 2 GB which vanishes in no time. I have setup the Default Write under Storage to be SD card. I even went through the process of installing the Android SDK and changing the install location to 2 using adb, but nothing seems to be working. It continues to complain that there is no storage available when I try to install any new app, while there is 14 GB sitting there in my SD card getting wasted.
Please help.

How can I root my Sony Bravia XD9305 Android TV

Hi there,
long story short - I do want to root my Bravia tv. I don´t know really why it hasn´t been done by someone already ^^"
In most cases there would be 1000 of questions and threads for this theme, but my internet search didn´t help at all.
Now I am trying to get all information I need to accomplish my task.
-On the tv is android 6.0.1 installed.
-adb connections are useable and i can read write in every folder except the system ones, which I need for the superuser installation
-through adb I could restart into recovery mode, but without TWRP I can´t install the superSU, which I need to get the rights to do all I want with the operating system
For ones I want to accomplish this based on the pure interest in android development. For seconds to use my tv like I want it to
I have 4k files which I can play through an usb 3.0 hdd without stuttering, but when I do the exact same with an wlan (ac) or lan connection I always get stuttering.
The lan port only transmits at 100mbits and I need gigabit lan. I don´t understand either, why the "ac" connection don´t work smoothly as I would expect.
Because I dont want to connect the tv to an usb hdd, but my NAS (Zyxel 520) I searched for other ways to accomplish my task.
On this search I found a forum where a user tried to use a usb 3 to gigabit lan adapter with the RTL8153 chipset, but couldn´t get it working because the tv
needed root rights to activate the device under android. That´s what I am trying to accomplish by this thread.
The link to the mentioned forum thread is: h**ps://community.sony.at/t5/android-tv/wie-gigabit-lan-nachrusten-bei-sony-kdl55w755c/td-p/2256204/page/2"]https://community.sony.at/t5/android-tv/wie-gigabit-lan-nachrusten-bei-sony-kdl55w755c/td-p/2256204/page/2
My skills can be regarded as pro and I am a fast learner. I do work as developer in the java (android) sector. I would appreciate every help, link, suggestions that would make my idea of a rooted android tv
reality and share the results here with everyone else
I hope some people are interested and we can start to get to work
Hi, i've the same TV as you... but didn't thought about rooting it for now...
from what i understand we need an unlocked bootloade first... so basically what you can try is, in an adb reboot in bootloader and then try to unlock the bootloader
fastboot oem unlock
probably this will not work anyway...
I'm trying to work with some friends to create a twrp for a bravia android tv 2015 and try to change it with fastboot
if it's work maybe will be the first sony rooted android?
If not....it's 10 pounds a motherboard on ebay,my luck
see you soon
Any update / help needed?
BTW:this will support all bravia 2015 models?
I'm interested cause would like to remove ads in YouTube (just imagine 3 years old daughter is watching nursery song, any got commercial for grownup...) + auto dschedule to shutdown all radios (I do switch off all radios at home during the night for health reasons. In the end WiFi and mobile is an microwave

I believe this model uses the MT5890 chipset; you would probably like to take a look at this thread then: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/rooting-mediatek-based-linux-smart-tv-t3150281/post68797397#post68797397

Guys, any progress on the case?
I need to root this Bravia Tv
I know nothing about software (only to use what you make).
And I am looking for something to root my Bravia. Why? Because use a 256Gb USB dribe on it, but I can not download things direct to the that USB because say is read only. But I can access to it (write and read) using MLUSB Mounter. But if I try to use any torrent client, can not write directly to the USB. Yes to another USB I formated for the TV, but no for that one. And that one can not be format by the Tv. Maybe because of the size (256Gb). I upgra de SO from Android 7 to Android 8 (Oreo). It is better, but still can not use the USB the way I want.
Some one username:banmeifyouwant rooted their android TV in 2016, but then disappeared, was active elsewhere. Maybe Sony said to cease and desist. Take a look at this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66311033&postcount=595

I would like to root my Sony 49XG9005
I have Xbr-55X850D Bravia running 7.0 . How did you upgrade to Oreo as I couldn't find that on Sony site. Well wanted to root it. Is there a way to hook my comp up to it. I used Remote Adb on my phone and wanted to unlock bootloader . I rebooted into bootloader , the screen then turned gray . I tried fastboot flashing unlock . I then tried fastboot oem unlock . The screen stayed same . I tried fastboot reboot . Then it dawned on me , since I was using IP address , then it might not have connection wirelessly. I tried unplugging tv waiting for a while then plugged in and turned on . The Sony logo pops up then screen goes gray . Think it's stuck in bootloader mode . Is there a way to connect my PC or Android phone with a cable and run Adb ? Oh and did someone make a TWRP for this ? I've downloaded the firmware for the tv and as last resort will try it on USB drive to restore.

How to root Teclast P80 3G K3H7 - Tablet - Android 5.1.1 - Intel SoFIA Atom X3

This is only for Teclast P80 3G K3H7 it won't work on Teclast P80 mediatek or other models check your model on the backside of the cover.
First, download the zip files provided below and unzip them.
Ok listen carefully, since you're rooting Android you should be familiar with adb commands and drivers.
Follow the instructions carefully steps by steps if you do not want your device to be bricked. I am not responsible for bricked device.
1 - Power off your device.
2 - Install the factory tool and make sure to create a desktop icon.
3 - Open the factory tool.
4 - Now here's the important part.
5 - Click on firmware tab and load the philz_recovery.fls then click run.
6 - Now connect your device via usb cable and don't press anything.
*** It should show green color if it shows red color then repeat the steps above.***
7 - After that click on stop then close the factory tool.
8 - Now to go to philz recovery you need to hold down the power button and volume up button at the same time.
9 - When you see Philz recovery go to Install zip then choose Install zip from the sideload. This is the only way to root this device so do not choose sdcard it won't work choose sideload.
I know recovery is laggy and touch doesn't work but this is the only way to root this device so you will have to do it with volume buttons. I tried to port TWRP but the touch doesn't work so I ported Philz recovery since Philz work with volume buttons.
Now to install SuperSu I used SuperSu 2.46 here it's how you do it via sideload. Connect your device to a pc ***make sure it's in adb sideload mode***
Code:
adb devices
adb sideload UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
Then hit enter and Just wait until you see installation complete in Philz recovery *** you should be patient since the recovery is laggy*** after that remove usb cable and power off the device by holding down the power button until it's off
NO DO NOT POWER ON YOUR DEVICE IT WILL NOT BOOT UP SO FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW TO BOOT YOUR DEVICE WITH ROOT ACCESS

Now open up factory tool again MAKE SURE YOUR DEVICE IT'S POWERED OFF then reflash the STOCK boot.fls and recovery.fls back. Flash the recovery.fls first then disconnect the usb cable AND POWER OFF AGAIN BY HOLDING DOWN THE POWER BUTTON then flash the boot.fls. Make sure your device it's powered off each time you flash
Now you can boot up your device and see if SuperSu is installed. If you have any trouble ask them below

I need PhilzK3h5 ... where can I download it? Thank you...
Nothing happens during firmware
I've loaded the philz thing into the firmware and clicked run, and then connected the tablet (by usb) to my laptop, but nothing happens, at all. So, the tablet is supposed to be off? Could I keep the tablet in fastboot mode during this?
Thanks
Hi all.
Anyone have firmware for Teclast P80 3G (K3H6)? Please share? Bricked with update. All links dead.
K3H5
Hey, @kaiz16 Could you make philz port for the K3H5 by any chance? I tried with the K3H7 and K3H6 recoveries but it does not boot into recovery at all.

Bricked Px3 Unit, how to save Unit?

Hey guys,
something went wrong when i flashed the MTCE 2.72 GS File, my unit is now totally black and dead, no response.
What options do i have?
Kind Regards
kaya
Recovery & Re-flash.
Cheers
The Question is how, do all of these units have an internal USB??
I do hesitate to open up the case and end up in a missing USB Port, when i played around with ADB i could only access USB1 and USB3 before i bricked the unit.
OK, i am doomed...or someone just has a clue where i might solder USB and recover with "Rockchip Assitant"? :crying::crying::crying:

See links in my signature.
I already saw your thread buddy, but i absolutely dont have a clue where those USB1 Connections are.
i could find some stuff in the front of the Board like M-USB, L-USB, R-USB and a few centimeters far away +5V USB but dont know exactly where to solder.
Oh and i dont get it why i have to lift 27 and 28 of that chip, so there is no way to hard install this for later applications?
I mean like let 27 and 28 open so i can have 3-USB Ports? AFAIK that 3rd USB is for ADB and Recovery?
Hey Guys,
i tested my px3 board on a different unit and its working, so it seems that my android system is gone. Any ideas how i may fix this?
but...the PX3 coreboard has the Android image included...if that worked on other unit....the problem is your MainBoard, not the CoreBoard
yeah, thats what i am thinking of too??
so how the hell is this one dead after firmware update?

Agree, sounds like your MCU is corrupt/bad. Replace the mainboard.
impossible, as the old bricked one(which was not bricked!) does work in the new radio, the new mcu of the NEW Radio does not work in my OLD radio shown in the pics above. It still has a black screen and no illumination on the buttons and behaves dead with a definitely working MCU

I found that video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkA6o2P_hTc&t=127s
It could help you...but important question is: where to find ha_256_FULL.bin ??
Hey Buddy,
i already flashed the newest file with your mtcdtool (img to bin), but you said in a different thread that it wont turn on because the bootloader is missing, i ordered another unit and will try to do a read and put it on my device to recover it.
if you could do a dump or find that file, dont hesitate to send it to me =)

From video, note start address. Is it possible he only flashes standard MCU file?'

For me its look like simple RS232ToUSB converter. It's wrong tool.
You should use ST-Link, for example:
and connect it to MCU pins: SYS_SWCLK, SYS_SWDIO. Some boards has special pinpad for that:
On your board I can't find it (picture is poor quality)

I don't think so. On video we see 0x08000000
"standard" MCU files (the ones we upload to unit 'dmcu.img') has start address 0x08004000
I have an USBtoTTL aswell and an USBtoUART:
The one in the picture is the UART-adapter and i could flash with the Flashloader-DemonstratorGUI(also from STM)
I used 0x8000 as start adress but as you stated it possibly starts at 0x8004000
I found out that i did a mistake on PIN74 and instead used PIN72 for VSS - but nevermind it worked two weeks ago and it still does =)
I wanted to post here earlier but i had exams and the new board didnt arrive yet =)
EDIT: for the other interested guys, this is what i bought years ago USBtoUART 6-pin CP2102 Adapter

If you have read the topic PX5 Oreo ROM you probably already know that the owner of magintolog.ru (along with the youtube channel) is @kumarai.
He has such a file. Unfortunately, on the 4PDA forum, I found such like this: (=> )
At the moment, there is an opportunity to raise dead MCU chips (MTCD and future MTCE), pull it out of any state. Unfortunately, the existing version will not be published for a number of reasons, excuse me. I can say that the MCU is almost not killed, you really have to make a mistake to kill the MCU. No one is immune from a hardware failure.
You can try to ask him, maybe something has changed since then.
Also be careful when you will try read by the BOOT0 method. This is also from him (=>):
This is excluded. You have to be an idiot manufacturer to give you the opportunity to read the chip. Moreover, when you try to read, the chip will no longer start up, it will wrap up the boot-old firmware from such read attempts.
If you read the datasheet on the protsyk, there are three levels - 0, 1, 2. If transferred to the second level, only the replacement of the protsyk. But it makes sense to change if there is protsik's firmware.
Result: If you tried to do a reading of the protsik, he is in the block, the radio tape recorder is a corpse. Transfer to mode 2
@level 2: chip readout protection, debug features (Cortex®-M0 serial wire) and boot in RAM selection disabled @
Disables the chip firmware option.
He is a professional, i dont think he is gonna give out that file :\
I prepared simple recovey image (based on KLD_V257): https://www.sendspace.com/file/wsvj55
If you want to try flash it and tell us is it works.

Unable to flash ROM - Erisin Mini Cooper

Greetings from Portugal,
I need your help because I probably messed up.
I have an Android Unit on my Mini Cooper. It's from ERISIN (At least the software was, because the booting logo used to be from Erisin).

}
The unit has USB and two microSD slots (one is the GPS slot)
Here are the specs from my unit (I took before messing up):
The background story - I contacted ERISIN asking them for a new MCU firmware and ROM, because mine was from 2016. They sent me the files (They sent me an MTCE LM firmware - even though mine was KGL and they also sent an Android 10 ZIP file). I'm a new to this kind of android "programming" so, naive of me, I tried to install it.
In the settings I was able to upgrade the MCU firmware. But unable to to the same with the ZIP file. So I tried from the android recovery - boot from USB and Erase All. The recovery was able to read the MCU file in the usb but not the ZIP. Then I probably ended up recovering from backup (or something like that) because I ended up with a version of the software which did not have working driving wheel buttons nor the front physical buttons. I PANICKED
I then got the "yandex disc" version of a KGL MTCD version (similar to the one I had before flashing) and also downloaded the update.img of android 5.1 for PX3 KGL (rk3188, my rockchip) - I wanted to get as stock as I could.
Long story short - I'm stuck with recovering, something went wrong because I get the loop on the lollipop booting screen and wont pass from there.
On Recovering, the GPS microSD is not mounting (and I know It's advised to flash from that slot). The USB is working (I can flash the MCU version from USB but the ROM image gets errors every time I try to flash it.
What I've tried:
- Format microSD in Fat32, ExFat, NTFS to see if the GPS Slot would recognise it. Didn't succeed. Tried with a 1GB and a 4GB card.
- Tried to make a "Boot" SD and USB with "Rockchip Create Upgrade Disk Tool" Software (Following Malaysk posts), but both didn't work.
- Tried to disconnect battery from car, inserting MicroSD in GPS slot and then connect the battery to check if the unit would recognize it.
The ROM update from USB always starts, but after 30 seconds it gives me a bunch of errors (cant mount cache... cant open cache... block device required... and some rknand errors.
The Malaysk ROM is named dupdate.img Should I try to rename it to update.img ? Would that work?
Please help. And thanks in advance.
I leave you the errors:
Your unit isn't [Android Auto] but the good news is that it is a well known [MTCD] type, as seen from the MCU type code.
Ive requested mods move your question to the MTCD Q&a, but as a suggestion, take a little time to read the forums then post. There's a wealth of info, and your issue can be found in the forums.

Thanks in advance. Yes, I did find some post - even 1 or 2 related to KGL version and similar error codes as mine - that's how I started trying some of the solutions I mentioned. Unfortunately it has not worked so far.
Maybe if I try to flash the ROM with RK Batch tool I can get it to work? I'm afraid that with the error codes I have maybe the unit is beyond salvation.

Wipe storage first? Put it this way, never had a single SOM that was unrecoverable. Becareful upgrading to Android, does your BT support it.
Just tried to connect the unit with my PC to use with RK Batch tool.. but the PC doesnt recognize the Unit (yes, I've already used the RK Driver Assistant, and it tells me it succeeded to install drivers).. Even so, RK Batch tool does not recognize it. But 2 USBs appeared in "other device" in windows device manager (dont know if it is the unit being recognized, but it's strange that it lists 2 devices there) .
