You may have noticed by now that the Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-i9500 has no AOSP ROMS, that means no CyanogenMod, AOKP or Paranoid Android.
While the Qualcomm i9505 is basking in Google edition ROMS and Nightlies of CyanogenMod, the i9500 is in the dark.
The only ROMS available for the Exynos powered i9500 currently are Touchwiz based, and are essentially only modified versions of Samsung's own stock ROM. :crying:
There is a reason for this...
You see, to build an AOSP ROM developers need the phone's sources, in this case, devs such as those who work on CyanogenMod and AOKP need the Exynos 5 sources. The problem, Samsung isn't giving them out just yet.
Now back with the Exynos 4, Samsung promised to release the sources to give devs a fighting chance, what they ended up getting was incomplete, and almost useless. It took the developers two years to get something that half worked out of it!
I'm not saying we will never see non touchwiz based ROMS for the Exynos S4, mainly because it appears progress is already being made.
However, until the day comes where we see an AOKP ROM for the i9500, check out this ROM by doga.ozkaraca
It's a heavily modified version of touchwiz with the only noticable Samsung feature being Settings.
Until next time,
Droidulation
I already have an AOSP Rom on my i9500 :good:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2294176 Check this out, It should be available soon.
CM for I9500 is work in progress... Intervigilium is working hard on bring AOSP love to I9500.. I can see, we are like few weeks away from CM ROM (not stable but at least usable) on I9500..
It takes time but that's worth it

Yeah, can't wait for the day where I can finally flash a Google based ROM to my i9500, almost stating to regret I chose the i9500 over the i9505

Because Exynos. Simple answer really. Exynos has been an enemy of AOSP ROMs since Galaxy S2 all the way to Galaxy Note 10.1.

I couldn't agree more with them with all the issues they faced with exynos soc, without talking about the brick bug in n7000...
After all we might get 4.4 update....

Excuse my ruff language but this is complete bull****.
We'll be patient with samsung -.- ... always for ous ACE 2 they take their time...
I dont think samsung will spend time on ace 2 anymore

And where is this official list? That picture in the posts above is just nothing. The fact that they considering update this doesn't means that we will get it. Even on sammobile.com they say this:
"However, just because Samsung is considering the update doesn’t mean the updates will actually come – the Galaxy S4 mini is one device that is most likely to get the update, but for the other devices on that list, there might not be much hope, if only because Samsung’s heavy and bloated TouchWiz skin might negate the work Google has done on reducing the memory consumption on Android 4.4 KitKat."
So no more updates for ACE2. That's the big bold fact.

I trust in Samsung no more... Howevwr. we have kitkat-based CM 11, so we don't really need official release!..

To be honest - if KitKat on Ace 2 will ever be released and will be full of bloatware, such as JB, then I prefer unofficial CM releases. At least they're smooth and very fast and they don't kick off the launcher from memory as JB did, when I tried to go back from any app.

additionally Samsung original firmwares are very unwieldy. I don't think so new original firmware fast, reliable and useful. Cause Samsung accomplish the break 4.4 KitKat fast and reliable key points.

Yes but then we have more 4.4 blobs for custom rom and maybe kernel source 3.4.X. I don't believe, but if samsung release kitkat for Ace 2, we have some benefits from it.
I hope one day samsung release stable jb 4.1.2 like old 2.3.
MG2 is good, but it's not stable like GB. (freezes, UI lag, games lags).
i wish someone could make fully working AOKP 4.4 for my Ace II

Even if samsung release any JB update (up to 4.2.x 4.3.x) or even a kitkat after having such messed up 4.1.2 I am not going to use them (well maybe as a base for further flashing). At this momment, custom roms are only option here. Luckilly, we have some skilled rom builders here so we should be fine for now

If youre talking about multiwindow, then no. As far as I know, official roms never include multiwindow. And sungsonic gives some extra features but it isnt really that different to me tho

Never used it myself as I dont have a p3100 but my sister claims it's slower than stock 4.0. Idk if it is a bad flash or the rom itself

ill start with sgt3 10.1 because that is the device i have and work down from there
Fantastic! The custom ROM's that i would like to keep running don't have touchwish and those which do, have other problems (wifi or gps don't work). So i always end-up going back to stock. A fully functional ROM (like Slim) with touchwiz would be the ultimate (for me at least).
T-310 WiFi 4.2.2.
217s for sure. Would be awesome.

Really? ETA = now. N9005 Roms can be flashed on N900 variants (N900T, N900w8), head over to the T-Mobile note 3 section for more info... Or you could just check their android Dev section, which had a bunch of aosp Roms
This is all assuming you DON'T have a exynks variant btw

The n900w8, n900t, n900a, n900p, n9008v, and n900v, are all n9005 variants. They are all snapdragon. The n900 (notice no suffix) is the Exynos model, which is also devoid of lte.
