Hi Nikos,
How did you changed the CSC without rooting the device?
Also, after that, what is the status of the Knox Warranty?
Thanks!

I bought my S6 in Colombia although I live in Panama. It is the SM-G920I.
I found that a Panama app I wanted to install would not install because it said the country was wrong. I guess that may be something to do with the CSC. I had naively assumed the phones in Colombia would be the same as the phones available in Panama. I now see from Sammobile that there are different firmwares for Colombia and Panama. So I downloaded the Panama firmware and installed it with Odin. Odin did its stuff and said that the installation was successful. Both firmwares are 5.0.2.
However, when the phone rebooted it was exactly the same as before and PhoneInfo still shows it as having the Colombian firmware. The only change was that I lost my Pingpong root.
Sorry for the long explanation but what have I done wrong? How can I get the Panama firmware on the phone?
TIA

You Need to download another firmware, i recommend to you to download the Trinidad And Tobago firmware, i tell you because latin america has csc codes for many countries but if your country does not have csc code it sets to latin american firmware because of your EFS Folder, if it doesnt work to you please download a firmware from France or Spain. if you doesnt want to lose pingpong root do not upgrade to a kernel made after 15 May 2015
Please do not upgrate to 5.1.1 Firmware it Sucks

Thanks. I will give that a try. Would it be the CSC that is stopping the app I want from installing, saying it is the wrong country?
If so, is there an easier why just to change the CSC? I have done some searching but everything I've found seems to be quite old and probably not working for Lollipop.

Try this to change your csc code:
1. type in the dialer *#06#, copy ur IMEI
2. type in the dialer *#272*IMEI HERE and add a #
IT WILL WIPE YOUR DATA

Thanks but that doesn't work. I get Unknown Application. I think that doesn't work on the S6. I also tried using Phone Info to change the CSC but that also doesn't seem to be compatible with the S6 even though it shows my firmware is multi-CSC.

Sorry but what do you mean do not let to install csc files? I did stop Odin auto-rebooting and went to recovery but that didn't seem to help. How do I stop it installing the wrong CSC files?
If I was willing to lose warranty now, would installing TWRP and maybe a custom ROM make it easier to change the CSC?
Thanks.

I am stuck in BNG csc code and i cant change it because i need to Trip KNOX, but i changed my csc code From ING to BNG.
- When odin finish flashing if Auto-Reboot option is ticked, your samsung will reboot and it shows a Android robot instaling something and later says Erasing... you cant let this happen, untick auto reboot and you need to reboot your galaxy in recovery mode and it will show CSC Check Failed and you have to wipe data and shutdown your device and enter in download mode and reflash the firmware. It worked for me.
if you trip knox and you install twrp it will be easier because you can install a custom rom and change your csc code rooted.

Thanks for all the advice. I am away for a few days so cannot risk reflashing my phone until I get back home. Will try again then.
Hi all,
I'm back to Samsung after a number of years away at HTC and LG! Last Samsung was an S2 and so I've used Odin, reflashed firmwares, rooted etc. before so know my way around this stuff in a general sense.
I got an S7 from CEX recently to replace my broken LG G3 but the firmware on it seems to be a slightly older / foreign one and I want to get onto a clean UK / EU firmware, so I can keep stem with OTAs that I see friends' S7's receiving. My current firmware is baseband G930FXXU1BPJE, build number G930FXXU1ZPK4.
I've looked on SAMMobile and can see two options for UK unbranded; XEU and BTU. So my first question is what one should I use and what the difference is?
Secondly, when I use Odin to flash whichever one is correct, will I need to repartition? Or will factory resetting after flash be enough to properly correct the CSC?
Finally, will this still show up as an 'untampered' phone, and receive OTA correctly?
Thanks for the help.
XEU has the most updated firmware atm with a February security patch, where BTU is still on January afaik, both unbranded UK firmwares
If you flash them using CSC (Not HOME_CSC) which will reset the phone and change CSC, then you will remain KNOX 0x0 and receive OTAs for whichever CSC you choose, XEU or BTU
No need to repartition
I did read something about needing to flash to another CSC supported by the current CSC on your phone atm (Multi CSC) before flashing to the one you want to change to, but not sure about that, I've only ever switched between BTU and XEU, and BTU is multi CSC containing XEU too

Thanks, I'll stay alert to that possibility. I'll go with the XEU variant and hopefully be ok. Just need to backup my stuff first.

Hello, did you have any luck changing your CSC without Re-Partitioning ?
Im in the same situation right now (DDE CSC, still on 6.0.1) and I am kinda scared after reading so many posts where people bricked their phones.
Since there is no official Nougat release in the USA yet, I was planning on installing the "BTU" Nougat official firmware intended for the UK. Do I need to do anything with changing the CSC to use in the USA, or just flash everything as-is in the firmware download? I don't understand if the CSC change is REQUIRED to match the country you are using the phone in, or just recommended. The current Marshmallow build is showing a CSC of OJV (middle east)
What are you USA folks out there doing? I am on Straight Talk (AT&T sim).
My current phone is giving me a lot of problems, and I'd really appreciate a response as I need to get switched over to this S7 ASAP. I realize I can just use Marshmallow but am really hoping to get to Nougat so I don't have to reflash and potentially lose data down the road.
Thank you!
If the CSC you want to change to is not included in the CSC already on your phone, you'll need to use CSC of the new ROM (Not HOME_CSC) along with the other 3 sections, and check the "Repartition" option in PIT settings of ODIN
This will wipe your phone back to factory settings
Are you rooted?

He doesn't need to check repartition. Despite the fact that it is designed for downgrading and unbricking (exclusively, in most cases ), it is not required to do that if only CSC change is needed. Only thing he need to do is using CSC section of the ROM (not Home_CSC because it is preserving old settings in the phone, message to The Founder of the topic ).
Generally, when I was switching to BTU I flashed Firmware with CSC different that BTU (for example Sweden rom) and then flashed BTU sofware. CSC has changed flawlessly
And when you have rooted phone, you can change CSC manually. That extremely ease you effort.
i would just flash the firmware and the csc that comes with it because then you will get updates in the future. if the csc doesn't match the firmware you wont ever get updates so just do a samsung cloud backup and flash the nougat But its weird that someone in the usa doesn'ty have nougat because i thought usa was 1 of the first with nougat.
RiTCHiE007 is right. If you want to receive OTA updates, CSC must match with the type of firmware it comes from. That is why you need to change CSC from US to BTU. Here is a thread that will help you out providing explanation of the topic.
I'm trying to flash to PCT to see if I get full US feature SPay with their rom.
However, PCT is part of Latin America multi-CSC rom and I'm now stuck with CDR which is the default.
I've read about how to change CSC. So far the only promising way out is to download Combination firmware and change CSC using *#243203855# in Factory IME to change CSC and then flash back to stock firmware. But there's not a lot discussion I can find... So will this operation work? Will it trip Knox? Can somebody with experience let me know...
Hi everyone,
Recently my provider launched VoWifi and VoLTe but to use this I need the newest CSC (LUX).
I'm on a custom rom (Galaxy project).
I have found the zip file with the correct CSC (and Home_CSC) but when I try to flash anyone of them nothing changes...
Does anyone know how I can update my CSC ? The CSC changer on this forum contains only the old CSC without Volte and Vowifi.
Thanks !
You mentioned Home_CSC so I'm assuming you're flashing over Odin. From my experience I'd avoid flashing Home_CSC and flash only the CSC tarball for starters, I'm trying to remember why that is but the reason escapes me right now, sorry about that. You might need to enquire with TGP devs for a solution.
Also install 'Phone Info Samsung' from the Play Store to check what CSC is currently installed on your S7 if you're unsure. I'm having some trouble with CSC flashing via Odin as well, bootanimation and splash won't change to show telco logo animations, nor do I think VoWiFi is working properly either.
Can you flash a csc on a custom rom with Odin? I thought it only worked with stock rom.
