Is anyone else having apps crash and go to recent then won't function? I have factory reset and wiped all cache and still happened. Is this a lollipop issue??
Uninstall android system webview.
Really I will try this to see
Your the best should I disable it? Thank u sooooo much for this!!! I cant say thanks enough. I can't uninstall but should I disable
I used titanium backup to freeze it.
Uninstall the recent update, the older version works fine. Disable auto updates in your play store settings. This will (until Google fixes it) get rid of your lockups

Clear the cache
Try going into the application manager and clear the cache. I had constant force closes in market and clearing my cache fixed it.
I'm guessing you changed the original theme? it seems some kernel versions doesn't go too well with changing the xml from your themes or whatever. the only thing i can think of is to back-up, reflash the system and restore everything but the theme.
If clearing the cache doesn't work then try to uninstall vending.apk and reinstalling.

I have just recently rooted my nexus one 2.2 froyo. Tried cleaning out the cache in the market but will not stay cleared. All other apps clear out with no problem. I go into applications, manage apps, go to the market and click clear cache. It clears it out. Go into my market and all the old apps I went looking for over the past few months since I had this phone are all there. Go back to the manage apps setting and all the cache imfo is back on. The white light saying clear cache is back all lit up again. Why won't market clear out cache but all other apps do?????
Any imfo would help me.
Thank you Vinny.
Even after using the fix market links option in titanium backup (which finds none missing) the market application still doesn't recognize over 100 Apps on my device. Any recommendations? Running Th3ory of ginger rom 3.51. Hard to know what updates are available if the apps installed aren't recognized by the market.

Thank you for the response. Attempted to do this, however clear data and clear cache are both grayed out. Apparently this isn't even an option with the market app.
Any other ideas?
Anybody? I can't believe I'm the only one with this problem!

I had this problem earlier. When I rebooted the phone they weren't grayed out anymore. After clearing the data and cache my apps showed up
i have this problem too. i will give the above a try and give feedback.
Well, I don't know why, but the only thing that I found that fixes this aside from a reflash is to use the mybackup pro application's fix market links, reboot twice, and all fixed. So, if anybody else has this problem, give this a shot and tell me if it worked for you too. Kinda pissed that titanium backup couldn't fix it but mybackup pro could. I paid for TiBu
I installed some application from market and uninstalled some of them.
I did a factory reset and after that, the phone rebooted and I found the application including which I uninstalled are restored.
How to make sure the uninstalled application will not restored? Thanks.

settings, privacy.
I've tried using this feature and it doesn't work... doesn't restore, even with auto restore. Is it only for when you reset the phone? or everytime you uninstall and install apps?
This might be the one I need to uncheck them.
What I want is really that, if I removed some of the application, I would like have them not restored but others restored.
BTW: It only happens when I reset the phone.

Seems like it is my that dummy question:
others have asked about: how to remove android apps from my market account
I have the same request not to list the application I tried through the market.
One application that was installed in through market and I could not re-install it just because the market says I have already installed it. Damn android.
ok. Second issue is solved. I installed the application from the phone not from my pc.
But still I don't know how to remove android apps from my market account.
A huge list with all kind of free apps.
I have same problem. Don't know what to do.

a few days ago I was using Titanium Backup to unlink my apps from the android market that I had gotten from other markets so that the market would stop trying to install updates for those apps and when I did this I looked at MY APPS in the market it is now only showing a 2 boxes. 1 reads browse apps and the other browse games. It also says apps and games owned by this account will appear here. Iv'e tried using the market Dr. on TB but it won't fix it. I also tried to force close the market and wiping the data and uninstalling any market updates. I'm hoping I don't have to reset the phone completely. I've also tried fixing the permissions and rebooting into recovery. Any help would be much appreciated. Samsung Galaxy s 4g
I had this issue once before. I fixed it by logging on to market.android.com and when I did I noticed that my apps were missing from there to. I then logged off of the website and then back on and like magic all of my apps were back. I wont garuntee this as a fix but it did work for me

im having the EXACT same problem... and i even tried a full wipe and fresh install of my rom, and all 200+ apps fresh from market to restore ANY broken market links. still no dice. im on sprints epic 4g touch, found this post on google looking for info lol
i use rom toolbox pro.. no problems here
I used Titanium Backup to uninstall something called the "Market Feedback Agent". I then wiped my cache and dalvik cache and rebooted my phone. My apps showed up in the market after I did this.

EDIT
Just download this App Market Fixer by Kstudio from Android Market.
Use it to scan for offending Apps, Note that it requires active data connection. What it basically does is compare your Apps database with the online Android Market Database and then single out the offending Apps. Presently, the only solution it offers is to uninstall the Apps from your Phone which for me is unacceptable because most of them are Samsung Core System Apps like Videos, Galllery etc, you don't wanna lose your System Apps.
When the scan finish just take note of the offending Apps, it would help to write them down. Do not use their Fix tool because it will delete the Apps from your Phone or if you use REMOVE MARKET LINKS ONLY those Apps will give you FORCE CLOSE afterwards. The best option is go to Titanium Backup --> Batch --> Detach User & System Apps from Market --> Deselect all --> NOW SELECT ONLY THE OFFENDING APPS --> Run the Batch Operation --> Reboot.
After this go back to Android Market and all your Apps will be there. If It didn't work the first time, redo the whole process, maybe you missed one App.
This has 99.9% success and I believe it will work for you.
ADDITION
For those of us that Schedule Backups with TB, you have to do some tweaks to your Preferences if not; after such backups, the whole problem will come back again. This is all you have to do:
Go to Preferences --> Deselect MARKET LINK (When backing up an app, save its Market Link. Requires SQlite).
Be aware that this might happen again if you upgrade ROM or restore whole system with TB Backup, but with such Tool at hand, all it takes is less 3 minutes to fix.
Hope this is helpful
Thank you! I'll not sure exactly what I did that fixed it, but somewhere between using Market Fixer and uninstall/re-installing some apps it working again.
Note to self: stop playing with Market Doctor in TB for no good reason.
Hi
Excuse me for being somehow off topic, I'd want the opposite.
I have a few apps (Youtube & windows theme for Go launcher for example) that I hate their updates and I'd like them to not appear on market update list.
If someond knows how to do this, please PM or send a link.
I searched and couldn't find anything. 10x.

In Titanium Backup - Market Doctor will break market links.
Any free solution?

Hey I was wondering if anyone else has had apps install by themself, over the past few days a couple of apps have somehow showed up on my home screen. They don't show up under the app drawer or under apps in settings. Also ever since these started coming thru I keep getting notifications for other stuff like "lose belly fat" and "job offers starting at $325 and hour". I'm currently running aokp m6 if it helps. I've done a full wipe and it stopped for a day and then came back. I'll post some screen shots of the apps.
P.s. the ones installing automatically are the last three above the PayPal widget.

I too had some Apps install on their own. But they were apps I had before I attempted a NANDROID Restore, which for some odd reason failed and killed my Boot. So I was forced to re-flash my stock boot/ROM on my S3 (AT&T Flavor) and repeat the Rooting process. But once I started looking through my app drawer, some of these apps were being re-installed. Odd, perhaps some internal back-up that I'm not aware of on ICS.
Yea these are random apps that aren't even from the play store. When I click on them they open the browser and take me to a page to sign up for a subscription.

Have you installed recently any pirate app? An app not bought or downloaded from Android market?
I saw some apps that installs a patch that brings/installs apps and shortcuts on your cellphone. Tô solve this Just delete the program or patch and use an antivirus Just in case...
Good luck

same issue
I'm having this issue but its legit apps keep "updating" themselves baxk after I uninstall them
ie: bbm, flashify, (more I can't think off atm)
Some of the apps has Adware build in it, which means if you download the App, it will spam your Home screen full.
You can fix this problem by manually delete it everytime, to fix it permantly you need to delete the app.

Are you sure you uninstalled the right one?
also do you have any virus on your phone? I don't think this is the problem though.

Yes multiple times
Today I went as far as deleting history of them being installed in the app store... Waiting to see if they are back tomorrow
Update: still happening. Resorting to auto update off and still having to stop installs... Something to do with rebooting, or its triggering it
