Screen tearing on recovery (CM 12.1) - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After updating my boot loader to 0x4118 in order to continue running CM12 on my XT1032 and to prevent screen tearing when booting, screen tearing effects now occur within my recovery (TWRP 2.8.6.0). Does anyone know if this is an issue with the recovery being incompatible with the boot loader or if its CM12.1 related, and any fixes if possible? Thanks in advance

I thought 2.8.6.0 had already fixed this? I had 2.8.6.0 on my mate's XT1031 and no flickers. It doesn't affect the way you use it, anyway...

[Q] Custom Recoveries Working

I have been reading the custom recovery threads.
Is there a custom recovery that is working w/o bugs for Moto G US?
All of them are working properly. You just have to choose the right version according to your rom (gpe are special) or boot loader (4.3 or 4.4)

They were buggy. I eventually found a link to a TWRP-2.6.3.2 and flashed with Flashify and its smooth sailing now.

[Recovery][GPE] CWM Touch for GPE

I ported CWM using CWM for GPE and CWM Touch for Motorola Edition images.
How to install:
Connect Moto G with GPE firmware to computer in bootloader mode, open CMD or Terminal (for Linux and Mac OS X), choose file location as current folder and paste this:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery CWM_GPE_touch_falcon.img
Bugs:
On Lollipop have some screen freezes, but touch and all features work fine.

I didn't flash other ROMs instead installed GPE, but it flashes other zips fine.
Maybe CM 12 must begin support GPE file system, if everyone have problems with it.
So does this work any better than TWRP ??

It works for both, as long as the recovery is built with f2fs support, /cache and /system still use ext4 on xt1032.

I have same problema :.( and i have problem also with android 4.4.4 rom version with screen problem , i resolve whit lock screen and unlock screen but if possible i want permanent solution.
If you upgraded to 5.0.x (and the BL got upgraded in the process), no there is no way out. Current recoveries are built for 4.4 only, and have compatibility problems with 5.0.x BL.

CM12.1 not booting. Need help.

So today I decided to install CM12.1 after finally unlocking the bootloader and installing root but when I installed it normally it wont boot. In fact any custom ROM I installed it wont work. I was originally on Stock 4.4.3 and even tried the guides here for solving the problem but it wont work! Help please?
Restore to the stock Android 4.4.3 and then OTA to 4.4.4 and then OTA 5.0.2 to get the new bootloader and now you can flash costum ROMs.

Cant OTA to 4.4.4. as my phone will get hard bricked. Already flashed Lollipop bootloader and still on 4.4.3.
Flash and boot CM11 first. CM11 builds are deleted by the official server, but can be found by searching around the web.

[Q] Cm12.1 MasterAwesome xt1033 hotspot

I got hotspot tethering problem on cm12.1 masterawesome build.
Hotspot tethering unable to start and displaying error.
Is this cm bug? Or devices specifically? There is no problem with hotspot tethering with stock 5.0 rom.
Another problem is about horizontal line flickering on recovery. I read that screen flickering because of bootloader. But i have 41.18, so bootloader must not be the problem.
The flickering only occur on recovery and no problem on rom.
Thanks.

Oops, mistakenly clicked Thanks...
Recovery is built using 4.4 blobs and is not affected by the ROM's version. Just upgrade it to TWRP 2.8.6.x (Development section has it) and the flicker should be gone.
