Hi
Ok had a problem with the nightly updates
Downloaded the latest nightly update and then added it to CyanDelta. Loaded ok but then the phone kept rebooting and going into the optimization of Apps over and over again. Got it into recovery mode and installed a backup. Lost root so installed SuperSU via recovery. Now running version 12-20150329. I see the most recent update is 12-20150424. I don’t want to go through the same thing again if I install the update. I did not install any Gapps with update
What can be done to prevent it rebooting and optimization of apps again?
Thanks
I'm having a same problem !!! its not going ahead of "Android is starting... " "Optimizing app". PLEASE HELP !!
Can anyone help with this
Tried it again last night and same problem. I just installed the latest update CM-12.1-20150428 and did not install the previous ones 50424 and 50426. Phone rebooted initially but then rebooted again and went into update and optimization??
Do I have to install these first or do I need to install an updated Gapps?

Hi,
today I received a security update in my Nexus 5. I accepted it and when rebooted it got stuck in the multirom menu and it didnt update anything. Last time I have to lock the device and flash the rooted image in order to proceed with the update. this time I would like to do it diferently if possible.
Is there any other way to flash the update without removing multirom and locking back the device?
where is the update.zip stored when the system automatically downloads the update? maybe I could manually flash it using the TWRP.
thanks!
Jose
I had rooted my phone with fastboot and installed android 5 with gapps, but it seems it isn't successful as whenever I try to update my phone it download the updates but doesn't install it. Whenever checked it will always show the same update available. During boot up in fastboot it says root possibility may lose, I had installed SU while flashing the device. They are many root softwares which work fine on bluestacks & not on my device. I had tried various boot loaders such as CMR & TWRP but all were unsuccessful in installation. Phone is getting hanged up & automatically restarting too much, Kindly please help me with these issues.
Not getting your question
Answer below
What rom you using
What error messages you getting when you trying to update
Using android 5.1 ROM rooted with SU, & there isn't any error message while update, it's just that it doesn't install the updates when checked by restarting the phone again & going under the update option.

Hello,
I have a Mate9 phone. Installed TWRP and rooted. Today I found that there is an update. System downloads the update and restarts into the recovery mode, but update not recognized, and I don't know the location. of the update to manually install. After rebooting phone downloads again the whole update.
How can I install this update?
Thanks in advance.

I did so. It went to stock recovery, later said "software failed to install. Reboot your phone" etc. Rebooted, now there is no update seeen, but my camera still has max 6x zoom.
Any thoughts?
I've been using ResurrectionRemix a few months now and never had any issues with it. Today I tried flashing the newest update (2017-07-07) from sourceforge as usual. Now I'm stuck in a bootloop.
Things I've tried, all using ADB sideload from within TWRP:
- flashing older versions (RR-N-v5.8.3-20170620-bacon-Official & RR-N-v5.8.3-20170609-bacon-Official) that have worked before
- uninstalling magisk
- wiping cache/dalvik
- change up the order in which I did those things
Any ideas? I had this issue once when I flashed an update to RR and accidently installed SuperSU when TWRP asked for it, but flashing the update again helped out and probably removed SuperSU. No idea what's going on here. Will provide additional information where needed. Thanks!
Hi,
I need some help. So basically what happened was I was rooted using the latest Supersu but was running 7.1.2 April patch on my Pixel. I stopped there since I read the May patch and supersu had issues. Now with the release of magisk for pixel I decided I wanted to update and change from supersu to magisk and here is what I did:
Went into TWRP and flashed unSU and then tried to flash magisk 14.2 but kept getting error 1 when trying to flash magisk. SuperSU was gone off my phone. I read that the issue with flashing magisk is I needed to flash the stock boot.img over the supersu patched one before I could flash magisk.
I wasn't sure how to get the stock boot.img so the next idea I had was to re-flash supersu, so I did that but the application didn't show up, so I remembered last time I did that that I had to delete the fstab.sailfish file. I did that then re-flashed supersu and it still wasn't there, so I downloaded the app from the playstore.
I went into the app and chose the full unroot option and said yes when asking if it wanted to restore the original boot.img.
After that I went back into TWRP and flashed magisk and it worked. I thought everything was good, when it booted all my root apps asked for permission.
Now the problems started , I kept getting the pop up that "android.process.media has stopped" working and also that gmail, calendar, photos, and the play movies app keep crashing.
I read that magisk can do OTA now without issues so I thought I would do the Android 7.1.2 to Anrdoid 8.0 jump using the OTA. I tried following this guide https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/blob/master/docs/tips.md#ota-installation-tips.
I thought updating would solve my issues but it didn't upon reboot with 8.0 I am still having all those apps continuously crash. I noticed magisk isn't installed anymore even though i followed those steps regarding the OTA update and magisk.
I also noted that when I plug my phone to my computer and chose transfer files nothing happens, the phone doesn't come up under my computer so I can't transfer anything.
what are my options now without losing any of my data? I did make a TWRP backup before I started all this, should I restore that? Will I lose my photos if I do that?
Please help!
Edit: Tried going into TWRP and I got the "No Command" picture. I was able to boot back into normal boot and into the phone.
Edit: Since updating to Oreo the "android.process.media has stopped" doesn't seem to appear anymore not sure if still an issue but Gmail, Photos, Calendar, and Play Movies keep crashing.
For anyone else that runs across this issue, wipe data for com.android.providers.media
