I run SlimSaber that uses CM12 firmware and that includes the Download application that I think manages downloads (?). When I download a file it's the application that generates the Download Completed notification. Problem is, that even after deleting the downloaded file, clearing it from the download list in the Download application and after multiple days and reboots the notifications keep being generated.
Does anyone know why this is and how it can be stopped.

Greetings,
I had some issues uninstalling xposed on my HTC One M8 that was recently updated to lollipop so I reverted back to a stock lollipop rom directly from Telus. Every time I try and download an app from the Play Store I get the following message.
"nameofapp" could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information from server. [RPC:S-7 :AEC-7])
This is what I have tried so far:
- Clear cache on Google Play Services (Framework) and Google Play Store
- removed update from Google Play Store
- updated Play Store manually to newest APK
- rebooted in between these steps
- removed Google Account + cleared cache + all data for all Google Apps and services
Sometimes when I reboot it will let me update or download 1-3 apps, then it will just bring back that error. I'm at a loss as to what I should try as googling this error brings up the same solutions every single time. Other then this issue the phone itself appears to be functioning properly. My phone is unlocked and rooted but I do not have xposed or any other custom mods running. I'm also using the latest version of TWRP. I have also noticed that sometimes when I disconnect from wifi and attempt to download from 4G the download actually goes through. Not exactly a solution as I have limited data available to me. Any ideas?

Flash GApps via TWRP. If it doesn't help, bring your phone back to full stock, including flashing firmware + rom and make sure to format systen + data partition
before flashing the new rom.

Thanks for the help. I tried to flash the google apps but TWRP kept giving me errors that the package wasn't compatible with my phone. I located a nandroid of Telus lollipop stock and flashed that after I have formatted the system and data partitions as you have recommended. I dont believe I needed to do firmware as I have never had anything but stock firmware on the device. Everything appears to be functioning now as I can download and update from the play store once again.
Out of curiosity are you able to tell me why I encountered that issue? I cant seem to find exactly what that error even means. While i'm still very new to the android scene with flashing custom roms and device modification I have never once had that issue.
that is a "host" error, using a file manager, go to your /system/etc folder, open the "hosts" file, as a text file, and erase all.. except the local host:
Sorry bad english
Hi there.
Yesterday I got a message that a file was downloaded (which I did not initiate)
It is auto update: security.apk 43MB
It seems to be a legit security update but it is suspicious to me why it was downloaded into my Downloads folder instead of automatically installed by the system.
Is it safe to run it?
Just bought a refurb Moto G7 Power International unlocked GSM version. Went through setup, installed updates, and started using. For the 1st time in years, I am going unrooted. Currently don't have an SD card installed.
My issues are:
1. In any file manager app, it shows Root being 87% full. Not sure what to do about this. Is it common?
2. Where are my downloads going? If I am in Messages or FB Messenger and save, it goes where it should. If I go to the Google search bar, find an image and long press download, I get the downloading, downloading complete messages. I can then open it from the notification bar, but can't find it using a file manager. It isn't in the Downloads folder. I have tried searching across the entire device for .jpg, or whatever is downloaded. Nothing.

1. normal
2. images downloaded on fb should be on Internal Storage/DCIM/Facebook
I'm about to be mad because of this issue
Tried uninstalling updates, clearing data and cache.
When I tap on an attachment, it doesn't open, it tries to open indefinitely, but don't succeed. This issue is 100% repeatable for all email attachments.
HELP PLZ!!!

Hello
Info:
Updated recently to 11 using full factory image with wipe (with - w flag).
Rooted with Magisk (canary update channel, see images)
Patched clean boot file and flashed with fastboot flash boot magisk_patched.img
All good.
Problem: trying to open a .docx file from storage with M$ Word. Screen goes black and phone restarts. On first restart I get the dreaded "cannot load android system - try again or factory reset. Luckily try again does boot my phone.
Attempted solution: remove and reinstall word - click uninstall -" the app wasn't found in the list of installed apps" - see image.
Went to play store to reinstall - only have "open" button - when clicked, screen goes black and back to "cannot load android system" screen ?
Any ideas/advice much appreciated
Many thanks
*Update*
Couldn't resolve via normal methods -
Used App Inspector (UBQSoft) from playstore to see if M$ Word showed up in there and it did:
From there, clicked the cog wheel to go through to "App Info" screen and was able to successfully uninstall from there.
Installed the Office full suite as a work around and am now able to open the document as needed.
Any thoughts or info still appreciate - especially if anyone has had a similar bug, even with different apps.
Many thanks ?
Further Update
So, I've gone back to the same document about an hour after being able to open it - same prob, screen goes black, phone restarts to "cannot load android system - try again or factory reset"
Tried open again from within Files,
got message "none of you apps can open this file"
I have office installed - see images.
I think I'm going to go back to Android 10 - this is quite the inconvenience for the time being
Not sure if it's 11, Magisk or kernel (using the latest EXKM)
but it's system UI that keeps crashing - I cleared out storage and cache as I am currently unable to uninstall Office, even via App Inspector.
*Solved*
Removed one of my Outlook/Micro$oft accounts to which Word and Office were both previously syncing - removed Office via playstore Uninstall button and rebooted phone.
Tested opening the same document both from Files, SolidExplorer and from within Word, opens for editing no probs and performs as expected.
Root and EXKM still installed and fine.
Sorry for multiple updates, just thought it might be useful for anyobe with similar issues.
