[Q] icefox (TM) 4G LTE smartphone X9 - General Questions and Answers

Hello all,
Has anyone possess or heard about this phone?
I am planning to buy it off amazon uk.
It has good reviews but the X9 model is not even mentioned on their website.
What do you guys think? Cheers.

Yeah i have it. Its ok.
Lots of smartphone for cheap money. But its not on the twerp or cwm list and there is nowhere not even the company leys you get the custom OTA....so deleting those factory apps is gonna be a problem for some time.

[Q] Planning to buy GTab 7 Plus - Need Advice

Hi everyone. As the heading states, I am planning to buy the GTab 7 Plus in India for my dad. Now, here is my concern:
In India, the same tab is marketed as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 620. It still has the 1.2 GHz Exynos Processor, 1024X600 resolution screen & includes Voice calling features. I have searched all over the net & couldn't find if there are any differences compared to the GTab 7 Plus which is available internationally. So, in this case, is it only the change in name for marketing purposes or is there some other variation also? Basically, I want to understand if I can use all the ROMs available here on XDA with the tab available in India?
If anyone has any info on this I would really appreciate it. Thanks in Advance!

But I thought the tab was for your dad? Kidding...
Take a look in the development subforum just to be sure but as far as I know there are no custom ROMs for the Plus yet.
Hi im from Philippines. My advice is do not buy Galaxy Tab 7 plus... why? Because Gtab 7 plus is not super amoled. You just wait for Gtab 7.7 that is a amoled LCD...
Sent from TAPAKING using Tapatalk
I already bought GTab 7 plus for my mom. I pissed off when i read about the specs and it is not amoled LCD.
Sent from TAPAKING using Tapatalk
Yes, I am fully aware that it is not super amoled. The point is that my dad is getting a limited time offer from his workplace for a 60% discount on any phone purchase. But since he already has a phone which he is content with, he wanted a tablet to use as an ereader. This is the only well speced tab which has phone calling capabilites & is available for purchase here at the moment.
Anyways, I have gone ahead with the purchase & dad is happy with the device. Thanks for all your inputs.
Guys, I don't know about price for Tab 7.7 in your country, but in Russia I got my Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus for $468 and price for 7.7 starting at $780. So I don't want pay twice more for super amoled screen and 0.2ghz difference
I am also looking to buy a galaxy tab 7 plus and am undecided which version to buy. I live in the united states and I could just get the p6210 wifi only version, but I am not sure if I will need 3g. I don't want to buy the wifi only then find myself often wanting to use the wireless features when I have no wifi. From my understanding i can use the GPS no matter which version I have so that's at least a plus no matter which way I go.
If I end up buying a 3g version which would people recommend the international unlocked one, the t-mobile un-subsidised, or the t-mobile contracted one.
For people who live in the US and actually got the international one, which cell phone company are you using with it and are you able to get a cellphone plan and use it as a huge cellphone.
People with the t-mobile version have you been able to unlock the subsidised version and/or use the unlocked version as a cellphone? Either with a t-mobile prepaid plan or another company that uses the same frequency.
From what I have read it seems like the international one would have to be used with at&t and t-mobile version is only usable with t-mobile in the US atleast.
In Thailand has 2 version
P6200 (for 3G 900MHz)
P6200L (for 3G 850MHz)

I have the 6210, I'm fine with wifi only because 1) I'm not paying for yet another data plan, and 2) tethering your phone to the tab works great, assuming you have a smartphone.

You should buy GT-7 plus, Super amoled is not very importand for your Dad.

I second that. In addition, the extra screen resolution and slight bump in processor speed are not worth the extra money IMO. Good Luck with your purchase!
I think you should go on and get it. Sure, it lacks Super amoled screen, but I find that people that randomly see my tablet have no problem with my screen.
In fact they say the screen is pretty awesome. In fact, the only real people who seem to notice the screen are fellow tech people.

Chinese Phone Thread

I have gotten fascinated by several Chinese phones lately, and plan to own one with Straighttalk or simpletalk soon.
I want to use this thread discussing the top Chinese phones by price/budget. I have added some names below - please suggest more. I also intend to put the supported bands, so people looking to use it on specific carriers will have best luck with these phones.
(Copied from a different thread For AT&T, the band is 850/1900 MHz for both GSM and WCDMA 3G. For T-Mobile 850/1900 MHz GSM and 1700 MHz for WCDMA 3G. If your phone is WCDMA 900/2100, 3G will not work for both AT&T and T-mobile. You must have at least one band that matches with your network. For best 3G coverage, both bands must be supported by the phone.

Hi, did you ever get any of the chinese phones? If so, wher did you buy your phone?
I'm fairly settled on the upcoming 1GB RAM version of G2, but I'm having trouble deciding where to actually make the purchase. I've been in talks with etotalk, and while they don't seem to be out to scam people, it has become apparent that specs on pre-release devices are totally unreliable and should be triple-checked with their salespeople prior to purchase.
On XDA, it's apparent that FCT has some very bad rep and only people with single-digit post-count come to their defense. (Yeah.. totally trustworthy. )
So, have you any experience to share?
I wouldn't trust my money with those phones it's much better to save up and buy an official, 'real' phone for the security and support

Jman, you're entitled to your opinion. I value your input. I'm not looking at the chinese phones because of the money, and would in fact gladly pay up to twice their price if they were on purchase here, with EU-mandated consumer protection and warranties.
The reason I'm looking at them is because I have looked at the offerings from the brands established-in-the-western-world and they're all pathetic. Show me a dual-core dual-SIM phone with screen no larger than 4.0", and a battery with a capacity at least 1.7 Ah.

[Q] unlocking boxes

so I have a business of buying and selling cell phones, this past weeks ive encounter some serious problems unlocking them, codes on ebay are not cheaper right now as they usually were a few weeks ago, i dont know if this a temporary situation on ebay or not, the thing is, I mainly buy samsungs models s2, s2 skyrocket, captivate, exhilarate, s3, nokia lumia 900, 620, 920, 820, htc windows 8x, and for some occasions iphone 4 and 4s, normally this codes were around $5-$8 each one, but now they cost like $25-$35 and unlocking them on my country are those same new prices, so my room for profit is decreasing a lot, ive been searching about some unlocking boxes like the octopus box for the samsungs models, but i cant seem to find any unlocking box for nokia, do you guys know any? are these boxes a real solution for my problem?, I still investigating how this boxes works, i dont have a clue but im willing to invest my time on it, any advice or any other post you guys can provide me will be much appreciatte.
thanks in advance for any advice or help you guys can provide me, btw sry for my english but i think its pretty readable i guess...

Just bought my LG G Pro 2 D838

I have just bought my LG G Pro 2 off eBay for £320 from a UK stocked supply so hopefully will be getting it tomorrow. I am on the Three network so 4G should work fine, although the 800 band 4G won't be supported when they roll it out in the rural areas, but I don't mind that. I currently have an iPhone 5S and iPad, and having previously had all android devices I have just never been able to get into the Apple products, I think they are way over rated, so the iPhone and iPad I have are going on eBay next week, and this LG G Pro 2 will be a compromise over having 2 different devices ). I have read so many positive things about the G Pro 2 and they aren't loaded with stupid technology you don't need, and they are cheaper than Samsung phones. I was looking at the Sony Z Ultra as they are selling them for £250 on Expansys, but I felt it was too big, and many reviewers said the screen wasn't bright enough and the battery isn't removable. So what are your opinions for those of you who already have this phone?

Congratulations on your purchase. You're going to love this phone. The screen might be on the bigger side but I find it perfect for reading on the go and playing games. The minimal bezels and the amazing battery life are such a treat to have. and it has a much slimmer profile than I had expected. All the best for using the phone. Do feel free to reach out to the community if you have any queries or issues :good:

Hi there everyone the phone arrived today, am very impressed, I think the screen is better than my iPhone 5s which is going on eBay next week lol. It blows my iPad air out of the water too, I have always been disappointed with the display on the iPad air. It reminds me of a TN panel on a budget laptop.
I can see this LG G Pro 2 serving me well, its easy to use and I love the UI, which am surprised about as I normally like vanilla stock android. It just seems to work. I can't believe LG hasn't released this phone in the UK. I think it would do very well as far as phablets go. I'll update more as the day goes on.
I haven't seen any FM radio by the way. If you have unlimited data plan just stream it on one of the many radio streaming sites.

I have received mine yesterday evening and it's gorgeous. What a beautiful screen. As I have a G2 as well the speed seems the same, may be sometimes a little faster.
B.t.w. I cannot select "swype" from keyboard. I could on my G2. Is that normal? Okay I have installes Swype for now but the G3 keyboard wolud have been nicer.

I already rooted my D838 and have installed the G3 keyboard as well. But that doesn't give you the trace function on the D838. I searched a bit further and found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2531417 where is described how to enable the swipe/trace function. After edit my build.prop swipe is working fine with the LG G3 keyboard. Also G2tweakbox xposed addon works really well on our D838.

Hello all
Does any of you know about the availability of the D837 version in Europe (particularly UK) all I can see on eBay is the D838. My concern is that the D838 only supports 1800 / 2600 on 4G. I am with "Three Mobile" which as I understand mainly uses 800. I can see that the D837 has better frequency support on 2G and 4G which is more useful to me as Three user and also because I travel quite often.
I don't have much information about the F350 model but I can see on eBay being sold from Korea or China (I rather buy from a UK seller), does any one know which frequencies this version supports.
And the last question to the OP (or anyone in a similar situation). I can see that you have bought the D837 and using Three mobile, have you had any issues so far, how does the 4G performs?
Your help would be much appreciated.
LTE bands
I have the F350s, and in the hidden service menu you can choose other LTE bands, and other GSM frequency's then what is listed in the phone spec. For example I'm in the the US on AT&T and LTE band 17 is a option and works great.
this phone is a hidden gem....
I've had my LG G Pro 2 32GB for a couple of months now, it's the best phone I've had since my Sony Xperia Z Ultra 16GB. But now it's time to move on to another device so put it up for sale. It's a shame LG messed up the D83810F update, looking forward to G Pro 3 if LG bother with it.

D837 is rare. i wanted to buy one in HK (the seller advertised it) but it was just a sales tactic to get people in the door. most phones from here will be the F350 or D838.
i use GiffGaff in the UK which is on the O2 network so i'll be on 3G when I come over later this month.
While 3 does use some 800MHz, the official line from them is your device needs to support 1800MHz.

[Completed] Best Budget T-Mobile Android Phone for Rural Areas?

I didn't know where to post this (since there isn't a "network" forum) but hope this doesn't break any rules. Sorry if it does.
Hey guys, my dad and sister need a new Android phone for T-Mobile. Basically, they currently have an old Moto G and GS4 for AT&T that I have working on T-Mobile and they are having signal issues in Springfield, MO and Wichita, KS. What would be a good new phone for them both that has about 32gb of space (16gb could work...) and is LTE capable there? I'm guessing it will need band 12... Hoping for something under the $200 mark. I've bought and sold on Swappa before, so that can be an option. I prefer new, but used can work if it's a good deal. An iPhone would be best for both because my dad has an iPad already but Android can work as well because I know iPhones aren't really under that price.
Anyone have a good pick I can find for them? Thanks!
